10:39 we are 110% new with cutting machines and still haven't tried our new loklik because we cannot find anywhere if we need to remove the plastic from the mat or not... Would have been nice if that was mentioned in the sparse manual.
But I guess you put the plastic sheet back on the mat after you're finished?
Yes. Remove the plastic from the mat before using and put it back on the mat when you’re done cutting. It helps keep the mat clean.

Thank you for this intro. How does the software compare to design space? Is it a paid subscription?
The software is free and the company is making updates to it all the time so new features are getting added frequently. Design Space is more advanced since it’s been around longer but LOKLiKs giving them a run for their money. It takes some getting used to LOKLiKs software if you’re coming from Cricut though.
Thanks for the video - all I want is for cutting thicker card or even board and I create my own designs using Adobe illustrator - does anyone know if this machine will accept externally produced SVG files please?
And how it it for cutting thicker card? I've been looking at the Maker 3 as that can cut think wood boards.
You can import externally created svg files. I’m not 100% sure if it can yet cut thick materials.
@@FamilyUnit thank you! I read somewhere you can cut up to 3mm - which is fine. Any heavier and the postage prices for my work becomes too much.

You can import in images. I've used LOKLiKs software as well as Sure Cuts A Lot with this machine.
I have just bought this cutter and realised the mat is too short for the work I need to do (Around 20" long. Is there any means to cut in a sort of "Poster" mode off the roll?
According to the LOKLiK website you can use smart materials with the Crafter machine - www.loklik.com/app-help/detail?id=1684840145490071554. I haven’t tried it.
Can you do a demo in how to use the text function using a cursive font. It won't let me weld letters together so cuts each letter overlapping the other

Interested in a device that could cut out playing cards out of 300GSM cardstock, do you think this one could do it? And if so, would I have to leave a spare inbetween each one?
It could definitely cut 300GSM perfectly. The hangup right now is getting proper alignment with Print and Cut, and only if you're not printing full bleed with a healthy margin on all sides. LOKLiK is working on this feverishly and they'll nail it soon.

My plan was to print some cards in a specific location via PDF then align the locations on the LOKlik app. Would this work, or is it going to just cut wildly off? Will have to replace with cricut maker 2 if so =/ Sorry brand new to this and need to know if I should return the LOKlik when it arrives

LOKLiK is new to the market compared to other cutting machines. Which one is best is subjective. I’m going to keep working with LOKLiK and see what all it can do. It’s got great potential. 🙂
Does it have a print & cut feature?
You can do print then cut with this machine but the accuracy is a little off when it works. Waiting on feedback from the vendor for resolving this.
I need to know if this cutter will cut svg rhinestone templates? I have failed to get answer from loklik and 6 other creators. I want to take my business up a notch but rhinestones are a must.
I’ll give it a shot and post a video. My gut says I can get it to work.
I used Silhouette Studio Business Edition to create a rhinestone design and exported it as a svg file. That worked as expected. When I uploaded the image into LOKLiKs software, it brought it in very small. I tried adjusting it and could probably get it close but it’s not straightforward. It is possible but I’d have to do further testing to figure out sizing. When I spoke to LOKLiK at CES, I did have rhinestones on the list of enhancement ideas I shared with them. Don’t know if it will be incorporated, but they said the next big software release is scheduled June 2024. Anyone noticed the cutting Parameters are no longer accurate since updating the application? Circuit vinyl used to cut fine with 375 force but now it doesn't seem to cut through so requires a higher cutting force.
Not sure if its just a issue I'm facing or if its for everyone

Can you cut out card/ make cards on the LokLik?
Yes you can! It cuts cardstock up to 100 lb I believe. We don't believe there is a scoring tool, but there are other scoring tools on the market. Video soon!
mine wont update filmware or do calibration. how to fix it please help

Can this cutter do matless and creasing?
I believe it can do matless, but I don't believe they have a scoring tool yet. I haven't tried "hacks" but I'll look into it.

You can cut vinyl straight away. You will need to calibrate if you’re making stickers.

How do I change it from cm to in?

What’s it doing? Make sure you’re on the latest software which is v1.9.7 and firmware v0010.

I do not believe it can do that at this time.

You definitely can make car window stickers. I use permanent vinyl when I do that and it works great. 🙂

He speaks the truth. The fact is that the Cricut Joy Xtra can do everything the LOKLIk can do with the exception of the width (Xtra cuts up to 8.5" wide; LOKLiK cuts up to 12" wide). The price difference is very small between the two.
If you haven’t bought it, PLEASE DON’T!! It’s a piece of garbage! The software doesn’t work and please save yourself the aggravation!!😩😤
LOKLiK is new to the market in the cutting machine arena. Yes, there software is a little clunky but they are releasing updates regularly and some of those recent updates are showing promise. I understand the frustration but I’m holding on and hoping this really takes off.
