  • Ready for an Irish dance war between good and evil?
Michael Flatley's Lord of the Dance is a drama. Dramatic storytelling is all about setup and payoff, requiring conflict between heroes and villains: the more you hate the bad guy, the more you cheer for the good guy.
The first half of this video, Dangerous Game, is designed specifically to make you hate the bad guy: you're watching the Dark Lord and his clan descend upon the Little Spirit like a pack of wolves.
It's not easy to watch. It's uncomfortable. It's supposed to be. This isn't a polite technical exhibition; this is a drama. Really let that emotional reaction build, until you're practically screaming at the screen, "For God's sake, somebody do something!" Because then, when the cavalry arrives, and we go into Hell's Kitchen, the emotional payoff is that much more powerful.
Hell's Kitchen has some new and exciting formation changes in the choreography; to really show it off, we've brought back the onstage "DancerCam" GoPro, so that you can experience Hell's Kitchen from the inside out.
Featuring Cathal Keaney, Alasdair Spencer, and Cassidy Ludwig, this is the classic clash of Celtic clans for control of Planet Ireland. This is Lord of the Dance: 25 Years of Standing Ovations -- Dangerous Game and Hell's Kitchen.

Cathal seems to have very kind heart and soul, it's all in his eyes. And perfect dancing technique, of course. He is brilliant!

I have to say, based on this alone, Cathal seems the most like Michael Flatley out of all the Lords we've seen commercially plus ones I've seen live. He's got the same anger and charisma, but also his own touch to things. Plus...THAT WINK. THAT DAMN WINK WHEN HE FIXES THE TIN WHISTLE.

The dancers are wonderful. The show is still great. But can anyone tell me why they had to change the music? I really don‘t get it, even if they did it many years ago. You wouldn’t change the music for any classic Ballett, would you?

After seeing this version, my question was, when is Darth Vader going to come out and start dancing? With costumes that look like they came from 'Star Wars', maybe if they do another film, the Jedi knights can dance through the battle instead of using light sabres. I like Cathal but sorry, Daire Nolan will always be my favorite Dark Lord.
