My experience in one word, "Divine". You visit my channel and view the whole playlist on Kailash Parikrama, to get an idea of what to expect.

Long story short; the mountain is a cultural landmark and a religious symbol and in addition to that its also extremely dangerous to climb. A public ban is actually very normal under those conditions. You arent allowed to climb atop anything thats considered a monument or religious symbol.

I saw a picture of Mount Kailash and Teotihuacan's Pyramid of the Sun in Mexico side by side and it was eerily similar, Mount Kailash does look like it has a staircase going up the middle of it. I believe its the largest pyramid and probably the oldest man made structure on the planet. It looks like it went through many different stages of harsh weather. Erosion comes to mind as well as massive heat or something that molted the mountain. Theres a spot near the top where there seems to be imprints of giant slabs of manmade brick as well as a passageway up to the top with steps. Truly unfathomable. Wish more was uncovered.

Klaus Donna says in his talks that there is a cave inside that had huge guys in there meditating. If you try to go in you will die. Only special monks can go there after preparation. The guys inside are said to be over 10 meters in height.

Personally, I think no serious effort was made to climb it to respect the sentiments of the billions. with modern equipment this should be light work but people do not spend their month of time with no rewards, this same effort they can proudly say, I climbed Mt Everest.
