Memorial service held for fallen 21-year-old Polk County deputy

- Deputy Blane Lane was killed in the line of duty while serving a felony warrant alongside other deputies in Polk City. The sheriff's office said there will not be a public viewing or gravesite service. Law enforcement honors will take place outside the church immediately after the church service.

I cried when Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd said “Now to complete Deputy Sheriff Lane’s faraway dream that Blane can’t attain on his own, I am going to promote Deputy Sheriff Blaine Lane to honorary sheriff for all eternity … Rest well, Sheriff Lane.” This truly has touched my soul. My prayers go out to the family and may Blane Lane rest in peace.

How can you not cry when you listen to the memorial service of a 21 year old young man who wanted to serve his community and paid with his life for following through on that dream.
He is now with our Father in Heaven but my heart goes out to his parents, family and friends.

When his cousin said He was my younger big cousin it brought tears to my eyes I have the same relationship with my older cousin. Blanes whole childhood was so much similar to mine he wasn’t much older than me this just hits so close to home it makes me sick the evil in this country must be confronted and destroyed. Wow ! What a beautiful service. Im sitting here in Alabama crying, but knowing what a faithful servent Blane was, his childhood story was precious. He got to do what he loved, on the force he wanted to work in. Im so happy he was able to work for Sheriff Judd. Im so happy he got his Sheriff status with Polk County. polk County lost not only Deputy Lane, but the other deputies who served the warrant as well. it's going to be hard if not impossible for them to go back to the job and do it well after this.

I was so very moved by this service! This Deputy Sheriff was so young but so dedicated and such a true Christian, family member to his real family and his department family as well as so much of the community! This is Deputy Blane Lane’s Homegoing, his Eternal home of his CHOICE was Heaven. Jesus called “Blane, Come Forth!” Jesus child, Jesus born again, blood bought child is WITH Jesus where Blane will have no more tears, no more pain, no more heartaches, no more sicknesses, Blane is forever with Jesus face to face. For HIS children when we die, we are absent from the body immediately, and present with The Lord😊. Our prayers are for Blane’s family and friends left behind.
😂❤He is now in peace with his Angels and my heart and spirit is with his family and fellow officers who have loved him so much. I feel your pain and loss because I have lost my total family including my son 45y old who was a great General Contractor in the Phoenix area. I have been walking in those shoes for almost 6y now including my identical twin sister, my parents, my husband and animals all to both COVID and now am struggling with multiple myeloma due to the loss of my identical twin sister who passed suddenly three years ago. I have also been a deputy sheriff myself but left to return to college to care for all my relatives and just recently lost my only nephew.
I have been blessed by my son who visited me in the early morning hours as a real Angel who completely encompassed the entire end of my king size bed telling me that he didn’t want me to cry everyday because Jesus called him home to help Him prepare a place for all of us. It’s been such a BEAUTIFUL BLESSING for me and I know that he is not alone. May our souls and spirits be filled with His mercy and peace in all we do. I’m not a resident but I often pray for your wonderful Sheriff Judd and his endless love and support for all mankind.
He was too young to die. My heart goes out to all of his loved ones. Praying for Jesus to come again soon and end all of the evil and suffering of this earthly world. 🙏
