  • The SS Thistlegorm was a British armed cargo ship built in 1940 by Joseph Thompson & Son in Sunderland, England. Sunk by German aircraft in the Red Sea on 6 October 1941 and is now a famous diving site. Thistlegorm means "Blue Thistle" in Gaelic.

    It was very annoying when the German bombers flew back from the mission, and on the way back they met the ship, they had only one bomb left and it hit the target.
