I like how when you get to the arena the king doesn’t immediately try to kill you, he wants you to leave and only pursues you when you per-sue it. You have become a monster. The very thing you swore to destroy. Killing those that had no part in your loss. And every scav that comes after you, are taken revenge for the people they know and have lost to you. Just like how you lost something to them. Almost all of them have no idea what happened to you. Have no idea why you are killing them. They only know that you kill almost every scav you see. The only know you as one of the biggest threats to their species.
I wonder if Scavs have the same concept of Karmic revival that slugcats do? Just waking up on the same day if you perish. If so, from their perspective, they will literally die over and over again until they finally manage to kill (that version) of Arti. They'll see their families die, over and over again. In a way, Arti is just giving them back what they showed her when they started chasing her and the pups. The exact thing she had to live through-endless suffering. Until she decided to stop defending and start attacking.
And it all started because one of her kids stole one pearl. Shows how greedy the scavengers are.

That's not how it goes in my Artificer Campaign. I kill every Scav, because they are attacking me. Every combat is initiated by them coming up to me with their spears ready to kill me.
Wonder how come they aren't considered monsters for being willing to murder a literal baby over a single pearl rather than try to just retrieve it, but a mother furious over the hardly justified execution of her children is. Double standards as hell.
@@Pe6De It's more about the cycle of revenge rather than if any individual act is just. Was Arti wronged? Certainly. But at some point, somebody has to put down the spear and say 'enough is enough'; by the time you reach the King Scavenger, you've doubtless killed a lot of Scavengers (if you're not doing some sort of semi-pacifist run), and for all intents and purposes, none of them were the ones who killed your family. The King Scavenger might not be able to control their kin, but they control themselves, and they're the first one to say that they don't want to kill you- and, if you do decide to kill them, they're the only one to do so.
My favorite part is for sure when the Articifier realizes they can't make a bomb, so eats to gain hunger to do so, AGHHHHG! The sounds and the little eating! I love it way too much for unknown reasons! This whole animation is great, but I'm just inexplicably drawn to that one part! You did such an amazing job!!

This is easily one of the best standalone animations i've seen, you know well how to represent parts of Rain World, like the fact that Arti had to eat a scavenger's corpse for the bomb, and some scenes that are just well paced are just oh so satisfying to see, like that one in which Arti starts killing many scavengers in one big scrolling screen, good job, glad you took your time with this one, because it paid off really well
At the beginning arti seemed to have a bit of remorse because of the mercy the king was giving her, but she instantly changed her mind because of the lowest karma symbol which mean Violence or rage, i love the attention to detail
Dear God this was incredible, you clearly worked so hard on this and it absolutely paid off, I love all the attentions to detail and that, especially when arti had to eat to make the bomb
All of your rainworld animations are top teir stuff, never stop doing what you love!

I love how instead of just playing the whole met. Threat: day over the animation, you went out of your way to change when the “main” part of the theme turns on and off, creating moments that would seem like a adrenaline rush from arti. I really love how well you’ve done the animation.
Keep up the good work, your animations are amazing no matter how long or short.

I can’t even put into WORDS how incredible this looks. The lighting, the scenery, the action, the way the characters are portrayed(Artificer being portrayed as not sympathetic is awesomely done), EVERYTHING about this animation is absolutely AMAZING ✨✨

3 months of animating was worth it i guess, very nice animation.
DAMN THAT WAS BRUTAL!! I love the way you made the Artificer as almost savage in their battle and the sound effects were great!
(The music+camera direction was especially good at the end)
this is a cathartic sequence, as someone who always tried to befriend scavengers with pearls and spears and still got met with murder.
anyway cause I already watched it in the making of, I will list especially awesome parts. 0:34 is obvious, I love it when people illustrate artificer having moments of snapping to rage, signified by the karma one symbol. 1:12 also awesome, specifically the way arti uses the spear to kill the scav, slay drama queen. 1:32 I love how arti's mouth appears idk usually it's like...not visible so just an extra emphasis on that she's struggling to get up, like gritting teeth. also the moment soon after that when the scav king gets up, timed to the beat of the noise and has a close up, that's super cool as well! 1:54 literally the way she looks so pissed off after that cut and the throwing of the bomb, it really conveys force and weight without technically showing it, especially the cut to the dead chieftans hand, like I really felt that **impact** without it being shown
anyways good job northflowo!!! I hope you're really proud of this animation, it's so well done and has personality even in little things!!!

@@mishagaming1075 monk, survivor, but then downpour dropped (and I already beat those campaigns) and I stopped caring too much about scavs after playing artificer

After coming from the 'making of' video, it's so refreshing to just see it in its final form. It feels complete knowing how it got here, and then just seeing it standing tall and proud on its own. 10/10 would recommend!! GIVE THIS ART A BOOOOOST
This is AMAZING but I wanna take a second to talk about how well you *nailed* the sound design, it's genuinely super impressive the way you manipulated the music to fit the animation and used in-game audio clips for the sounds. It gives the impression that this is actually taking place in the game's world, moreso than other animations do.
I wish I could emphasize how amazing this is, you capture the tension so well and I love all the nice little details.

I still love how, other than Hunter, Arti is the only slugcat who objectively has good and bad endings. And the bad ending is the one you're lead to the entire playthrough, until an echo tells you "Girl you need to stop this is messed up"

I just finished Arti's playthrough and man this is so spot on with how I fought him 😂, this animation is so well done and the eating noise mmm fills me with something Ive never felt before
I don't know if it's been said before but I really love how you made Arti eating the scav look... grisly? Gross? Unpleasant? Not even Arti seems to like it either. It seems rather monstrous. You did a great job with the animation there, especially showing the blood around Arti's mouth and the tearing fur!

What an incredible animation! Only taking 3 months for a full color animation of this quality is quite impressive, especially for a solo project! That's some drive right there.
The sound design with the Scav King waking up was golden. I'm so sad for the Scavengers of that clan, they just had nothing to do with this!

i mean honestly how could anyone sympathize with you at this point in your journey. i honestly forgot what pebbles asked of me the moment i got to the king, i was blinded by my own desire to defeat him. but i mean i made sure to give him a spear....and he killed me with it. which was fair but i came back to him with resolve and finished him off with an explosive spear in the head. i was filled with so much adrenaline, but i forgot that at some point people just lose themselves in rage, and when that happens there's no turning back. When that happened...i had no words to convey what i saw. It went farther than i expected.

I allways felt bad for the scavs. They are (probably) Religious as the Ancients with pearls. Even tho kids died by them. Like. I don't know why I get sad seeing so much scavs die.

I mean, in reality it was only like one or two scavengers that killed the children, in this animation there were changes made only to make Artificer look more ruthless and less sympathetic as well

This is amazing! The uses of the concussive blast and the explosive jump, and the mid battle eating and crafting just really help capture the feeling of combat in Arti’s campaign! I love this.
