After hundreds of years in the neverending cold, a creature walks towards you, a creature, whose kind you always treated carelessly and harshly, yet now you see it as clear as day, it wields the power, which you never could've dreamed of, the power, that you worked on for countless cycles to achieve with all your godlike equipment and capabilities, was effortlessly accomplished by a weak and fragile animal, still tangled in its primal struggles.
2:00 The beat dropping as moon sees the rarefaction cell made me shiver. This video sums up the game so well without even saying a word.

The “ here we go again “ fits so well for Rain World because of the never ending cycle that the creature prob thinks that phrase each time in the song. Love it!
Oh wow i just noticed something that makes this even better - at 4:03 the pearl that pebbles throws that turns into rot is the chimney gold pearl - the one that spearmaster brings before their campaign, that contain SRS's instructions for how 5P can kill himself through the rot
The rot wasn’t the plan for pebbles to kill himself with the rot came from a mistake

@@Yo_Fish No, the plan was to engineer the rot to rapidly replace all the organic matter in his superstructure with the exact same kinds of organic matter, but without the self-destruction taboo that was hard-coded into every single one of his cells. /Then/ he was going to continue his research but without being prevented from experimenting on himself in possibly dangerous experiments that Iterators usually wouldn't be able to even consider because they might kill them.

The part at 2:11 is definitely one of my favorites! I just love how Hunter's super edgy, it feels so appropriate for their situation. After finding LttM and fulfilling their purpose I always imagined Hunter happy, but Hunter being jaded and angry makes way more sense: they were sent on a suicide mission by a creator that gave them cancer, they probably died a couple dozen times just getting to LttM, and there's nothing for them afterwards besides being consumed by the rot.
ALSO the art is JUST SO PRETTY!! And the animation is smooth, and--

im not sure about jaded, they just look tired, very very tired.
The Moon looks like she is just annoyed and tired instead of being surprised and grateful
... I always wondered why Hunter had the rot (tm). Like, was it a biproduct of being a rush job? A biproduct of failing machinery? Deliberate, to put the poor thing on a time limit - never having a chance to truly live?
Still one of the saddest slugcats, imo.

The Pilocene MAP started shortly after I joined the RW community, and I remember seeing bits and pieces of it every now and then not really knowing what it was. It’s awesome to finally see it all put together like this!
Since that's the case! I recommend looking up the Dreams and Turtle heart RW Maps! Turtle heart was the first RW MAP to exist, and dreams is the second.
Baby's first MAP... I'm very pleased to have participated! The discord was an absolute delight to be apart of and everyone there was so encouraging. I think everyone did a wonderful job on their parts; the final product came out so good!
The pearl to rot transition in that final part goes SO hard
So glad I was able to find this, 1:43 is maybe the best bit of rainworld animation I’ve seen period and is what made me follow this MAP

okay this is HANDS DOWN one of the best rainworld maps ive ever seen. all animators seriously did an amazing job on their part. and this song is an amazing idea for a rainworld map. congrats to everyone :]

Yknow i think this video is the perfect introduction to the Rain World MAP community! Saying that as someone watching a RW MAP for the first time haha. The song is PERFECT for the game, and everyone did so well! The movement & transitions in each shot are wonderful, and there were several parts i just had to keep going back to rewatch.

oa that was absoluetly bonkers! Projects like this are so ambitious and community involved, I'd never even really seen MAPs until I got into Rain World and it's always so impressive.
Anyway, if there was one thing I had to garner from this MAP it's that vultures are basically the game's primary antagonists.
