I've avoided going to the "blackhole" system in my playthrough because I was worried there would be weird gravitational anomalies that I'd have to deal with. Now I understand that it's actually a WORMHOLE. That's completely different from a blackhole.
I can't speak for devs but I believe their thought process is that you fly right beside the black hole and it slingshots you, like what nasa actually does with planets. I believe it's called a gravity assist.
@@thesmellofbacon7595 I guess thinking about it that way helps, but as a guy with a Physics degree and a deep interest in astronomy, I find it difficult to just swallow it and say, "It's just a game". I'm doing my darndest to keep from talking about how blackholes are really thought to work.
@@Mathematiman Even I was confused that passing though one only damages a single module. I'm pretty sure it would turn any matter into spaghetti lol.
Nu uh lol
@@SpacificNocean I think you're taking my criticism of the game too seriously. I really like this game, but I am slightly irked by the wording sometimes selected. I wouldn't call that a "serious" problem at all. If I had a serious problem with it, I wouldn't have played it far enough to have even reached the first blackhole.
Suit slots were mentioned several times. Few days ago my cousin bought a bunch of drop pod locations to get suit slots cheaper. I was tagging along & dropped a few save beacons by those drop pods. I found I can go back daily, repair the pod & get another suit slot. It takes time but is far cheaper than the cost of buying the slot.
You can also unlock a scanner on your Exocraft. Pretty cheap way to get drop pods early game đ
Hmmm im not personally getting that bug anymore I can repair but without a benefit
If you need units then afk in the anomaly overnight the stuff people give can be worth billions
@@GMJ7320 whatâs the point in getting the game to just sit there
@@johnnyboyproductions1501 it was mostly a joke and also that's not what you do
That's definitely a corrupted atmosphere. This game can be so cool.
You know, what I love about this channel is that you never stick to one thing. I feel like your videos encapsulate the nature of the game really well, in that thereâs always so much to see that itâs impossible to focus on one thing.
Unless you are looking for the thing in the title of the video to do. Then it is a nightmare to find due to all the sidetracking
I always find it amusing how much different each persons aesthetic is. I find that squid ship more ugly than the asymmetric explorers or boxy shuttles even, but glad you are happy with it!
100% agreed!
Mi use only the guppy. no fins, no nose, basically a cockpit with thrusters, fully upgraded of course but has no distorted field of view, can carry exact same as a fully upgraded cargo ship, virtually can turn on a dime, obviously with fully upgraded photon canons my pot dmg is at 5800, itâs all I use⊠seriously a very underrated gem.
It looks like his first ship shown at the beginning without those stupid 90foot fins sticking straight up in your face.
My least favorite ships are those damn explorers they just look so off to me
@@shaun2566 Yeah, I mentioned the asymetric explorers because they are my least favorite of the non-exotics.
I think they both are đ€ą. But the squid looks better though.
Hey you might already know this, but if you summon the anomaly in every new galaxy you can get an exosuit slot there each time as well. So you can get two slots per galaxy. One at the station and one at the anomaly
Oh I got it! I just cut it out for time on this video.
@@SurvivalBobGaming ahh coolđđ
You mean system not galaxy
You're the best.
Thanks for the advice. I followed it, went to a three star system, got involved in a freighter battle. Afterwards, docked at the freighter and low and behold within a minute a S-class docked there.
If you want to avoid damage on your upgrades when going through black holes donât put any upgrades in the General section, keep them in the Technology section, nothing will get damaged in the Technology section. The same applies for going to a new galaxy.
I have a ship I use specifically for going through wormholes. Also, your living ship won't get damaged through the wormhole
Yeah, just get a throw away ship c class whatever with nothing but the must haves, same as your multi tool, get a throw away with nothing on it.
@@architectofdreams73 I did not know that, I have had mine since basically day 1 since they dropped (well whatever the time was) because if I remember you had to grow it about a week? Grind parts ever other day? Whatever the deal was Iâve had it since drop,, it has about 5 miles on it. Lol.
@@berryb745 yup. I had to "grow" my living ship
BIG BRAIN
Did not know that about the space station colors being a sort-of indicator of possible ship colors. Neat!
Thank you for a very helpful series of videos! I have been playing NMS on and off for quite a while, but mainly just as a galactic tourist without a worry about anything except finding a new, cool-looking world to explore. These videos gave me a boatload of useful tips and tricks to make my next vacation in space much more convenient (and sooo much more profitable!). Keep up the good work.
11:45 it's funny you mention looking through the visor to check ship class because I had JUST realized why you were doing that in the previous station. I had no idea it gave you that data; super useful.
DUDE!!! I spent like 3 hours in a busy space station, doing nothing but what you suggested in this vid, buying/scrapping every ship over C class... AMAZING! I went from $120m to $500m, got enough nanites to upgrade a Sentinel Ship and my OG shuttle from C to S class, got stacks of chromatic metal, sodium and wiring harnesses from breaking down ships, got enough skill upgrades to replace every C, B and some A ship skills to S class, for my whole fleet, got my dream S class solar ship, and ended by getting my first spicy squid exotic! (I scrapped about 20 S class ships.) No downtime, just scrap, scrap, scrap, can't recommend this highly enough!
Awesome! Glad to hear itâs still working good!
S Class hunting is awesome to do and I really like ship scrapping for nanites xD xD xD
It's relaxing to do and once you get into the zone you'll be at it for hours without even realising it xD
when buying a ship, you can exchange it for free if your ship is more expensive than theirs then you can run back to your old ship to reclaim it for free, then you can switch back to the new ship and scrap it without having to spend any money, thats free scraps and free upgrade modules, all you gotta do is make sure yours costs more than theirs, its a easy way to make alot of money and get free ships and nanites
@@GirlyNCute Came here to say this.
I like to farm nanites by killing sentinels.. could be based on changes since this video, but analyzing the salvaged glass and getting the upgrades to sell has netted me like 50k in a few days
Right on time!
Just got back into the game recently and followed your cobalt-crash out guide đȘđ€ now itâs time to pimp my ride đ»
Came in here looking for a quick easy tutorial, stayed for the sheer vibes, beauty of a squid ship btw!
There are a few games that bring me to a really high level of joy and in ~30 hours of gameplay I can definitely say this is one of them
that freighter you ran into when you came out of the black hole looks like an acclamator-class assault ship from star wars lol
I spent 2 weeks debating to buy the game, and holy hell itâs incredible - new player here and Iâm sure you all have done this , âzooming out in the galaxy map â holy moly! How many light years have you guys traveled from your starting location ? I zoomed out to 700k LY away before my finger got tired - endless possibilities
Only problem when you spend 2 hours pirating freighters and your game freezes on a comms message coming in
I've been using your values for scrapping ships, I'm the same with not having enough time when playing and recording so this helps alot.
I tend to wait for exotics at trading posts and while I wait I build a base to kill time . When I'm done delete the base , unless it has some nice ships I want maybe later . I have found exotics in every system, some take forever to show up .
Wow! Thatâs some patience you have !
In my limited experience, it seems like spawn rates are even lower than stated. And there is no "first wave" exotic. I've been to several "first wave" systems and waited hours with occasional reloads and nothing. Ive even encountered a first wave exotic myself but after buying, scrapping, saving, then reloading it did not spawn again. The only thing that seems to be consistent is what ship spawns (Eventually, allegedly)
For me, the best thing about NMS is there is no "RIGHT" way to play it. I can spend a whole session building and tweaking on day/ The next day, I can play convoy escort amd defend freighters or I can be the pirate. Then there's exploration. Then there's all free updates and new content. I'd love to play it in VR but that's a little outside my pocket book.
11:05 "we've got a crashed freighter..." and a trading post directly beside it. lol.
Bob has Survived NMS so far... Cool
I already hunted down my S-Class Exotics and also uploaded the Systems for ya. There are more to get but i am on a hunt. I hunt down the coolest Moon to build a new Base Project.
Thank you Sir!
I did the exchange glitch and managed to get the radiant pillar from its usual red colour to a nice white and gold, and some money, upgrades and storage modules aswell. Probably the best trade Iâve done in no mans sky ever.
I wish there was a way to hire cool aliens as crewmates, just to give us another thing we can hunt for.
Seriously, I'd love to have a capital ship crewed by Travelers.
Thanks for the glyphs Bob!
Still need the last 2 glyphs on my main save. Haven't gotten far in the Artemis questline yet so all the glyphs I've found have been from stumbling across random graves and Travellers. Quite proud of myself actually lmao
If we find the glyphs on our own, do we still need to find them again for the artemis questline?
I just finished a 15mil/4 hours activated iridium mining base , based on your tips Bob ! I dug a huge hole and stacked 7-8 extractors . Thank you !
Nice work! That's awesome! Soon you'll be so rich you'll be giving it away! LOL
NMS God: *hits blunt* ... paint that planet pearlescent.
đ
Excelent Vid.
I just did the black hole thing thismorning, I started seeing all the same ships in my now well-explored starting region. It worked. I been finding combos I haven't seen in a while. The needle nose fighters and TIE wing stuff especially... they are rare in my usual hunting grounds and all the same.
I was so filthy rich, I hadn't scrapped in a while, so I was itching to see some new ships.
I love at the 11 min mark you're looking for a trading post and as you fly over the crashed freighter, there is one to the left of it.
Haha wow. I didn't even see that either. I was too busy looking at the freighter đ
It's crazy how much the game has changed in just a year. I kept being constantly surprised by all the differences to how it is now, it's hard to remember every little detail that has been updated. It's strange to get a kind of nostalgic feeling for something this recent, everything changed is for the better though! I wonder how it'll be around this time next year, there are many things that can still be improved even though it's an amazing game.
I found the blackhole but never traveled near it. I wasn't aware you could fly through it. Cool.
I never could get the free ship. I tried a few times, follows all the tutorials but I always had to pay.
A good way for me to find exotic ships is to jump from system to system, waiting max 10 min in the spacestation in each system, each system only spawns one exotic max, to me it seems better to just move on after max 10 min, got myself around 20 in just a few days over multiple saves, i have atleast 3 saves where i have 5-6 exotic ships using this method (i have only 1 of those squid ships tho, they seem alot harder to find, most are those royal type 7 exotic ships)
buying cheap ships and upgrade to S classes wich is pretty cheap often leads to those exotic ships being 0 units when trading ships, but in general, exotics arent that expensive
vykeen systems seems to spawn exotic ships more often then others, i found most there, a few in gek systems, and so far only one in a korvax system ( but thats just my personal findings, might be different for others)
Theoretically you can use relic gates instead. It doesn't have a risk of damaging tech, only issue is consistently finding them
I didnât know half this stuff, awesome video and really informative Bob. Duly subscribed
I caught that "giggidy" after you said 18. Well played sir. Thanks for the content; I just finished my jump into a second galaxy on permadeath so now I'm getting into spoiler territory with game mechanics and this has helped.
Looks like my first freighter before the reset. So glad I seen this video because I've refrained from getting a new freighter because I was concerned I'd lose my layout.
I spent three days waiting for a certain design to show up as a S class. I had farmed so many a class ships that I had saved up enough nanite to upgrade the class so I gave up waiting and just upgraded the next a class of that variant that came along. :)
Instant max slots too thanks to all the salvage :)
I had no idea about wave spawns. I had always thought it was totally random
Good to know the freighter transfer is so easy. I've been avoiding it coz I didn't want to rebuild
I had no idea that could transfer everything right then and there on the comparison menu between both ships. I'm glad I watched this video
You just blew my whole ass mind. I didn't know you could see ship class and stuff through the visor. That should def be in the tutorial. Ps, Love the videos! Keep up the great work
Me too. Game changer :)
Hey Bob, just want to say thank you! For all the help, but now I am starting my channel, for spanish speaking gamers, I love NMS have 800hrs, and hope to make 1000 soon. Loving the new expedition, just found my first wave on my one, its near R3, you probably know already, but had to share it! Have a fan forever, so you keep trucking! Take care!
Awesome brother! Good luck!
@@SurvivalBobGaming thank you... Just need to start filling it up...wish I had recorded more when I started... Don't know where I got almost 800 hrs worth haha
Hill air eee usss! First time on. Subbed and liked. Great run through!
I was doing the quest for the living ship that I saw a gorgeous green starsquid đ. I don't even think it was a 3 star system. Obviously I bought it immediately đ

@@libbypanther4935 ok
Love how you just walked in the freighter and start roasting the crewđđđđđœđ
27:45 that was my first S-class ship đ
Cause it was so cheap, I could only afford it at that time
I wish those tail exotic ships were horizontal instead of vertical, would look like the dark elves ships from Thor: The Dark World
Omg TY for the Economy Scanner tip! Ye gods Ive spend so much time looking for a damn outpost lol!
Thanks, was looking for better ships! đ
Thanks for this; made some nanites and acquired some much needed upgrade modules!
I also love the white, long nose fighter! I've been eyeing one in a Blue/yellow combo but this one is prettier, IMO.
Bob should stop referring to Bob in the third person...AAAAAAAHHHHHH! :D
I know you make a grip of videos but don't stop k cause your all I watch at work lol đ
Thank you : I learned so many things !
Freighter fairy doesn't work after the latest freighter update. If you customize the freighter interior with the newest all-in-one rooms, if you buy a new freighter, you have to completely rebuild the interior all over again. Maybe HG will fix this to make this work again, but right now it does not work.
If you leave stuff in your freighter inventory it will trigger the question to ask if you want to keep your base when you trade. It does need to be properly patched though.
Nice video, definitely inspired me for my next NMS session! Is it possible you forgot to link your previous guide to getting exotics?
Was just watching one of your past episodes when I got the alert on this one!
thanks.. lots of good tips.. great vids
Nice video my friend. As a new time NMS player, I have a lot to learn and this was very helpful!
Tip: Learn to listen for the sound of an Exotic ship [32:29]
Glyphs for this SpacePort: [32:51]
Thanks so much for the guide
I heard about your channel from Jason plays and I'm glad that I found it you got some banger videos
Thanks!
A random piece of technology will always get damaged on your ship when you go through a black hole. I always use my worst ship to go through black holes.
One thing I like to do is lay down some atmosphere extractors underneath the trade post while i wait for exotics.
Good idea!
I know this is an old video but that mosquito exotic you buy and scrap is almost exactly a blue recolor of the first exotic I bought (red mosquito âThe Father of Truthâ) in the third system I ever visited.
I have better luck finding exotics in 1 and 2 star systems than in 3 star systems, I believe that is because in a 3 star system it is more likely that when the RNG rolls to spawn a S-class it has more types of ships to choose from that can be an S-class in that system, where as in a lower star system when the RNG rolls for an S class spawn it is more likely to be that systems exotic. So if you are in a system that has a first spawn S-class it is more likely to be an exotic than one of the other ships in that system. It just my theory, based on observation.
You have to ask for black holes? If I'm not mistaking completing one of the main quest lines allows you to see those systems. The atlas seeds one I think, it's been so long since I've done that. (My main save is 300+ hours)
Yeah. Thatâs right. The Atlas path will show them too. Itâs quicker to just ask Polo though if you just need one.
No idea if you notice if you build a trade terminal on your freighter, some system sell a whopping of 95 pieces of drop pod coordinates.
27:34 glad you feel the same way đ
Great video. I learned a lot.
Thanks! Glad it helped!
OMG I am so stupid was scrapping my ship upgrades instead of selling. So many nanites wasted! Thanks for the great video.
same here lol
There is so much to this game! I have just spent most of my time mining carbon and ferrite. Have missed out on most of this stuff.
Get some big money and start buying basic materials
I'm just glad you respect how rare these squids are only a 3% chance of one Spawning in game with out using a portal jump
I finally found the perfect one. It even spawned in my colors. I feel like the luckiest boi in the universe
this game has aged well, new contents & updates are very welcome đ
The atmosphere looked different than the ground itself because the planets atmosphere reflects green stronger than the ground reflects purple
atmosphere color effects everything
Looking back at this, Iâm just now realizing Bob took everyoneâs ship and poor folks out there stuck in the Space station with no ship and tons of money lol
I'm like 95% sure you flew over a trade post at 11:04. I think that may be one next to the crashed freighter
Probably
When you have option to buy ship, you can exchange it for your ship, and then go back and trade again and claim your ship for free. That way you don't spend money, you keep your ship and you have new ship for scrap. It's not a glitch, you just need main ship to be expensive with good storage. I got one time C class for free that cost 70 mil in scrap. Also when you scrap or claim ship back, you can dismantle gear and get some stuff for upgrading your ship or trade.
Super informative
Cool video! I wanted a blue exotic V-Wing like the yellow one youâre with in the video⊠any chances of the glyphs?
Bob, black holes ALWAYS take you closer to the galaxy centre by varying degrees but simultaneously take you to the a far location. I managed to reach the centre faster using black holes, and then when I was at the centre I saved glyphs for a planet near centre, went into the centre found a portal in the new galaxy and entered the glyphs from the near center planet in previous galaxy and then thats how I skip galaxies because SCREW doing that 255 times when each galaxy would take longer than a life time to explore anyway.
Iâd herad other wise on taking you closer every time, but confess I didnât do much testing. You can also just enter their first glyph 12 times into the Portal and get within 5k light years. I did a start from scratch to the center livestream in under two hours this way.
@@SurvivalBobGaming Huh didnt know about the glyph thing. But yeah no they really do take you always minimum 5kly closer relative to your last position if you check where how far you were from centre before or after. Some times if you are lucky you can find super black holes that take you a LOT closer to centre in a single jump. Infact when you get too close to centre the black holes stop working all together.
its about time they made it so you can build your own ships in some way or custom them more
Best no mans sky channel for sure
I wish they had Missions specific for each class of ship. I would love to Taxi some Gek to another planet with a shuttle , or be hired as a merc with the fighter class ships.
When I scrap them i want the 5 mil ships.... Luv the 3 x 3 exotics, I actually save a base in those 3 x 3 scrapping systems to return to when I need modules....
You can exchange for current ship, then claim your ship back for free then scrap the ship. You then make a profit in units and nanites. I suggest you have at most 4 ships owned when doing this so you don't lose your ship or miss a chance to scrap a good ship.
I donât glitch or play creative mode.
Thanks for this
Thanks, might have to get that all white fighterâŠ..
Embok of Sleeep? I like you already

at around 10:30 you ask "now where is our trade post" while panning left. and there it is on the bowttom right, slightly hidden by the crashed freighter. i just had to point that out
I saw that immediately as well. Sometimes you get focused on the goal and miss things around you.
@SurvivalBob Iâm new to the game and having trouble with the amidst the stars quest. I was able to put down my first signal booster then I had to log off, when I logged back on I no longer have the prompt icons. Iâm having trouble finding an answer besides restarting. Do you have any tips? Thanks man loving the videos.
Got a distress signal, went to the location & there was a damaged S class ship that's the exact same you have, well you all know what they say.
*It's free real estate*
Same happened to me đ€Ł
Itâs so strange watching this game non-vr. I play it all the time too
Thankyou for this I got it first try by going through a black hole
Man, i found that one wing exotic in red at the starter galaxy space station. I wanted it so bad but i was a million dollars short even to trade in the new Artemis hauler i got because itâs hella chunky and i hate clunky big ships. The smaller = The better.
Anyone else see the trading post at 11:04 just to the left of that crashed freighter?
Oooo i have that first freighter, not because i knew what i was doing, but because it was literally the first one offered to me years ago,
Awesome! Never underestimate amazing luck!
I think those are hazy planets, that's the one I had my ship color and contrail change on
Freighter has room for 9, they should make the cap 9.
How the fuck do you only have 60k subs your super entertaining and funny and your tuts are A+ and straight to the point
Thanks man!
"We're rich. It's all good."
Said nobody after Waypoint
I also bought two of those exotics, and was able to upgrade my hyperdrive, weapons, and shields; I have a hyperspace range of just over 1,000 ly now. I will probably sell one, because I have no real use for two, but it was more of an impulse buy.
