You are bad at story telling. When you are doing story missions imagine you are there first time like the viewer. Otherwise you are ruining the immersion and spoiling the story and any excitement.

You can visit Atlas stations all the time and complete the language set, same for autophages, just keep doing autophage missions. On my main save, I have all the words learned, nearly 1700 hours in.

The skiff is drivable! (Moveable) just re summon it while standing on it and it slowly moves to the new spot

Hey SurvivorBob i noticed you haven’t streamed in a little while, are you just busy or are you done with your Worlds playthrough?

I think the fishing update is cool. I'm still working on Phase 4 and 5 of the expedition, but it's a nice relaxing change -- compared to the previous expedition where you got attacked by biological horrors literally every time you do something. I would definitely fish, hunt, farm, and cook more in my regular games **if** they added an actual hunger mechanic (at least, in the Survival and Permadeath modes). Right now there's no need to eat ... ever. The buffs from food items are okay, but not necessary. And there's no debuffs from refusing to eat (or drink water, or sleep, for that matter). I'm hoping they will add hunger, thirst, and sleep mechanics at some point -- just for Survival/Permadeath modes. I know lots of people hate that stuff because it can be implemented badly, and end up making you grind all day just to survive. But if they do it right, it will give you a reason to hunt, fish, farm, and cook without being overly-taxing. I also think they should have a vendor somewhere who teaches you cooking recipes. Maybe different ones: a hunter down on a planet somewhere that shows up randomly (like those random pilots you can meet) and has items related to hunting (ammo, bolt caster upgrades, cooking recipes, or even a quest to kill a particular apex predator). Or an angler that offers similar things for fishing. Or a settler (maybe in one of the actual settlements) who offers similar things for farming. Having a way to procure recipes, without having to randomly discover them all on your own, would be great.

So is this just an update to the entire game or is it a specific game mode? I'm currently playing it on gamepass

“I’ve never played multiplayer on nms” i feel like this is most people’s experience but my first playthrough of the game was basically (broken) co-op

I played permadeath once - backed up my save file every 30 hrs or so just in case - good thing too cause I accidentally killed myself with the plasma launcher (3 times now in total) - now I just play on survival mode and interestingly enough I haven't haven't killed myself since, though I installed the paralysis mortar so I can put it up when I'm not in combat to avoid self deletion, wonder if I can paralyze myself with it

I really hope this is a sign that cooking will finally get an overhaul.

It may not be Raft, yet this is totally groundbreaking! Every time I sleep on NMS, I'm surprised with a new update!

I do think not having the Skiff as an exocraft is a missed opportunity, people have asked for an actual boat for a long time as the Nautilus is functional, and the nomad can hover over water sure, but neither allows you to sit on the water and fish from, plus the Nomad is kinda ugly imo lol

It’s an exploration game and chill because for years there was nothing to do, NMS as intended is a sandbox rpg, Hello Games promised us a free and living universe, not a chill game

Not sure how much fishing I’ll do. In most games not much. But maybe NMS will hook the completion bug.

will do it on the expedition and probably never touch it again. we need some aggression on the planet. for me the entire game is flower power. i know its an exploration sim but the option wouldnt be bad. the aggression now at max islike 1 planet in 83838292 some random animal attacks me because i stepped on his tail or smt

You actually CAN move the skiff. Summon it again and point the icon further away and the skiff will scoot slowly to the new summon point. Found this out by mistake.

I learned that the Skiff can be moved albeit quite slowly. When you're on the skiff navigate to the option, like you would do when you summon it, and choose a new location. It will the (slowly) begin to move to the new destination. A buddy of mine said it teleported once or twice on him but has mostly moved across the water gracefully 😊 Not what I had wanted but certainly better than it being completely stationary.

How do I get the 100kg fish I've scanned every fish on these planets

The Nutrient Processor is a great item to carry in you inventory, it gives you like 30 extra storage spots for just 1 spot in your inventory! The only problem is that it can only carry food type items!

I was really hoping for a new ship in the expedition. I missed all the really cool expedition ships
