Today we're looking at various cars Facebook Marketplace has recommended me over the past few weeks. "Feed, why does the audio sound like that?" Somebody lost their audio track (NOT me), so this stream had to use the OBS audio instead of individual recordings. Gonna be a few Fridays of this. Pretend it's nostalgic.

FJ has the Worst blind spots when you’re driving them.
They are horrible to drive. But hands down the worst blind spot I've ever seen as a mechanic were the E63 chassis 6 series BMW convertibles. You couldn't see dick if it wasn't in the half miata sized rear window or mirrors. Blind spot so big, Ray Charles would have gotten jealous
i learned to drive in an fj and for the first few years i just assumed that for all cars youre not expected to see over the dash or out the sides or back but then i got a tacoma and realized what claritin clear really means
appalling, almost dangerous imo.
The “Tesla head unit” isn’t actually Tesla. It’s an XUENAV brand replacement unit for the Camaro. It does interface with the OEM functionality, but I think you need a separate wiring kit. It does fit in the car, it just extends all the way down to the center console area.

I love the fj. I had a choice to buy a new fl5 type r or a used 5th gen 4Runner. I went with a 2020 trd pro 4Runner in army green. I did want a new one but dealers were asking a 15k plus mark up on new trd pros. I don’t regret on choosing my 4Runner. I did want a sports car but I had to look at the practicality of living in Wisconsin. Also I knew that with the 4runner I wouldn’t have any problems. I’m just saving money to build either a z or an ek hatch. Thank you guys so much. I love the content. Much love, glad I found you guys on YT. It's not suppossed to be a snorkel, it's made for desert runs. It has the opening racing the rear so the engine doesn't suck up sand

@novinnovations4026 Not if they're LEDS in a sealed unit like nearly all new cars. One of those dies, it is big bucks to remove and replace, as it is a one piece assembly that is replaced, instead of a bulb.

@novinnovations4026 I shudder at the thought of how much ours would cost. We have nothing but LEDs in both of our young Toyota hybrids, one is a '22 and the other is a '23. The good news is that while Toyota's quality is slipping a bit, they are still one of the highest rated when it comes to reliability, including the hybrids. While my old Impala had bulbs, the savings there were quickly eaten by powertrain repairs. You can be sure that a car with GM's infamous 3.6L V6 is going to be in a repair shop.
14,5 for a 200k mile rust bucket is peak over lander overcharge. People will pay 50% extra for anything that has ground clearance.
The 1GR in the FJs are supposedly one of Toyotas most reliable engines. Maybe top 3 behind the 2L Diesel and the 22R/RE. They're all pretty good, except the 3VZ. The 1GR is up there though.

All stamped and sheet steel quickly assumes the material properties of cardboard. If I turn the air up too high on my Impreza the doors start to bow out from the overpressure.
The rusty bits are load bearing members in Minnesota.
They do make metallic belts. It's what runs cvts. I'm sure someone's wild enough to adapt them to an accessory drive.
had one of these FJs on our lot about 7 months ago with over 220k on the clock and i believe it sold for around 11k... was from north eastern US. Crazy times.....

Swap that 3 cylinder in the metro with a tracker 4 cylinder...you got the business.
I saw the thumbnail and immediately hated it. I just put Bilstein 5100s on one of those that we own. Also FJs are 6 speed with a left-handed reverse. Only one that uses this gearbox, at least in their SUVs. They're body on frame and the frame is based on the Land Cruiser Prado.

I had an FJ for a while and someone tried shot a low offer because they would be required to buy 3 wipers for the windshield instead of 2 and the price he offered I might have actually considered if that wasn’t the reason
My highschool auto shop teacher’s wife had a supercharged 14 FJ in bright red. I really fucked with that.

Any FJ cruiser guys care to speak to the “poor visibility” thing when it comes to off-roading them? Been looking into them lately.
have owned mine for almost 10 years and almost 190k on the clock. in terms of off road blind spots, you do get used to the blinded spot. even daily driving it. I have not had issues on or off road after around 3 months of ownership. you just get used to it.
