I don't read notes well, so I just copy what I see on CZcams, start cramming, have fun playing it, then forget it days later. Life goes on...

@tiguilherman It's a 1999 Music Man Sterling, and I think I've only changed the strings twice since I've had it. It's my totally reliable, rock solid, always sounds just right bass. We have a wonderful relationship.

You say, I learn them, play them and then forget them : ( When Booker T toured EU with Sam and Dave and others, they took the horn players that played on the recordings with them. The guys were really excited until the realized they did not remember any of the songs (see your comment above). They got the records wrote some notes on a piece of paper, and then lost the paper on the way over. The first few shows they had to look at Steve Cropper's hand figure out the chord then all 3 play that.
