Traveler’s Notebook Set Up & Happy Mail

- Hello everyone,
Today I am making changes to my EDC traveler’s notebook using some wonderful happy mail I received. Thank you so much to Louise @coffeeteapaper and kiwi Penguin for your beautiful gifts. I am so very grateful.

Wow, Louise's ephemera holder is such a great idea! 😍
The leather folder is a check book, but when I realised it has the measurements of a TN I bought one for you as well as one for me. You always come to my mind when I see orange things! 💛 The tote is from a drugstore which has new colour totes every now and then. And when they are damaged or you don't like them you can exchange them for a new one. The hedgehog writes "many greetings" in German, it was from an old notepad I found in my Mums stuff and I love hedgehogs.
The coaster wasn't that hard to make, I'm happy you like it! 😘 And if you come to Germany you can stay at my place, so you don't have to save up that much. 😉♥️ We do have very good wine here, too! 😉🍷
I really should try and comment AFTER watching! 😆 Your covers are both beautiful, but I like the back with the coffee theme an little bit more. 😘

Hi Ali, Hope Theodore is making a speedy recovery. Lovely to see you back journaling again. I always find your videos so relaxing and you always make me laugh at some point. Both covers look great. I love the colours and particularly the journal sticker on the front cover, and the composition on the back is just perfect. Isn’t it amazing how you can move things around and suddenly you just think ‘right, that’s it’. We went to Germany about 17 years ago and did a trip along the ‘Romantic Road’ in Bavaria. We did a ‘Fairy Tale’ Xmas trip and had such a great time. We did indeed see some wonderful castles and all sorts of other beautiful things and places. Germany is very beautiful - definitely keep it on your list.

Phew…I was starting to have serious Ali withdrawal symptoms 😅 I’m sorry to hear that Theo hasn’t been well, hope his recovery is speedy and you and Ewan are starting to recover from the stress of a 3am emergency trip…those are not fun. I was hoping my mail would be a post holiday pick me up so I’m glad the timing worked out. I’m running low on those lovely washi stickers too so whenever I find something similar I’ve been trying to grab them. Those two collections of the washi labels and paper labels are what I’ve found so far. I knew you’d like them too! 😂 Love both your front and back covers, the bonus of a short insert, more regular deco opportunities! Yay! Also yay for new treatment approaches and plans! Onwards and upwards! 😘 PS: I do love me a German castle…I’ve been fortunate enough to stay in a few and even have Christmas in one! It was very chilly but super fun! 💕Louise
What a lovely message as always, thank you so much. I’m still struggling but I hope to get a new video up soon. I really enjoy making them, but the editing not so much 🤣🤣 My dogs are super barky at the moment. So I have to edit out all their noise. The front and back were both lovely but I love the back. It's fall here so the darker and neutral colors are appealing to me right now.

Gusti Leder is a great shop, they are transparent how the products are made and they take care that their workers are getting a fair wage. Just be careful, they have a stationery section too with beautiful notebooks in A5... 😘

Do you know where you got that Japanese style postcard from? I’m sure it isn’t but that symbol looks very…German 1940s 😂. Could be the early Christian symbol but seems unlikely if it’s Japanese. Would be interested to know, you know me, history nerd! 😂
I have yet to archive my Canada journal from over a year ago! I keep mine in my travelers hotel one too and flick through all the time.
Where did you get the little fabric envelopes you use for ephemera? They look perfect for little bits and pieces that can easily get lost!
That's what I thought, but it is the other way round and wasn't it a symbol for the sun in ancient Egypt??
@@kiwipenguin1126 oh maybe! Though I’ve always seen that symbol as a disk? I’m not educated in ancient Egyptian history as much though! I know it’s not the exact symbol we first thought because that’s on a tilt but you can get variations I think? Would be interesting to know if it means something in Japanese past or contemporary culture!
