University Partnership for Urban School Transformation

A partnership with the University of Rochester's Warner School of Education and East High School in Rochester, NY, led to a comprehensive school transformation that included the use of restorative practices, curriculum redevelopment and distributed leadership. The university didn't approach the partnership by trying to fix what some thought of as a broken school. Rather it sought community input, even augmenting the university's approach, to develop a true partnership and reform model that continues to see unprecedented success.
