Finally they give Shadow respect. Shadow is not vegeta knockoff. He's complex hero keeping his promise to his friend. Shadow is arguably more popular than Sonic.
I do have a theory of how Black Doom and Doom’s Eye could have returned. In Sonic Generations, the Time Eater travels through different events erasing them in order to erase the doctors’ past losses since they were the ones controlling it. Maybe during that, they unintentionally erased Black Doom’s defeat from Shadow 05. And he is now using this opportunity to get revenge on Shadow with the timeline now all scrambled. In the trailer, we do see Shadow and the Time Eater interact. So that could be how they tie both stories together. Another thing I noticed is that the architecture in the hub world for Shadow kind of looks like Soleanna from 06. Although it may just be a coincidence. Either way, I’m super excited to play this game. The gameplay looks cool and fun. Seeing Shadow use his Chaos abilities again is great. It’s also nice to see SEGA and Sonic Team reference Shadow 05 and Sonic 06 more despite both games not being that widely popular. I’m definitely going physical with this release since I’m interested in Gerald’s journal and what new lore it could add to the series on Project Shadow and the ARKs creation.
I appreciate that someone else is calling that game Shadow 05. Using the full name is kind of a mouthfull and can lead to confusion with the character, and combined with the game's similar connotation/reputation with Sonic 06, I think it's only fitting. Also, you make very good points in your comment, I just don't really have a lot to comment on outside of the name thing.
I really love to see Shadow's best story lines and history being shown some love after so many years of hate. I can't wait for the Movie in December; year of Shadow is looking great.
I love that the game comes with Gerald’s journal, but my goodness! That journal should have been a real book attached to every copy of the game, like how they did with the art booklets for Mania Plus and Origins Plus. It is literally part of the story and it’s unfair to be locked behind a preorder. Furthermore, now I don’t even know what platform to preorder it because of all the crap they gatekept behind it. I also hate that they have the nasty habit of locking these sorts of art books and stuff in a sort of additional app, instead of just providing the high quality pdf for people to print for themselves.
It’ll be on the Sonic Wiki on launch day for sure for everyone to see. But I agree, I miss the Sonic Gems Collection/Mega Collection days where there was extra content in the museum section of the menu. They could definitely add it in digitally for steam users.
For the hub worlds, i saw someone on twitter say that Sonic's linear hub world represents the simplicity character (go with the flow type of thing) while Shadow's represents his complexity of his character
I like how all the levels they've shown so far have been significant points in Shadows life. Radical Highway/Westopolis, and The Ark are obvious, but Bullet Station and Kingdom Valley a little less so. Bullet Station being the first time Shadow encounters one of Eggman's Shadow Androids, and Kingdom Valley being the first time Shadow meets Mephiles.
Kingdom Valley is where he met Mephiles for the first time, so I disagree. But Bullet Station yeah that one doesn’t make too much sense, but I love it anyway.
Maybe unpopular opinion but I wouldn't mind a new level of either Launch Base from Sonic 3 or the Death Egg from Sonic and Knuckles (maybe the first leads into the next). Would be interesting seeing Shadow's take comparing Gerald's to Eggman's grand creation.
I really hope generations gets some dlc levels in the future. Theres so many Sonic 3 levels especially that we never got to see. Even just Angel Island would be great. Launch Base would be fitting for Shadow but it just has nothing to do with him.
At least they got my favorite level😂 I do want to see them all though. Heroes levels have the best art and aesthetic. If i had to pick one Grand Metropolis would be great.
Finally, a video that isn't biased from someone who clearly knows their stuff when it comes to lore, who doesn't make mistakes when it comes to actually identifying the lore! I wish all SonicTubers were like this.

And so the reason why Shadow feels so isolated from the rest of the cast in future games is because he's burdened himself with the task of finding and dealing with Black Doom. What I've seen in these trailers about the Shadow part have gotten me so impressed with his new part of that game. That version of the Biolizard boss battle is no doubt an improved version from the SA2 original version of it, and it looks like they have made some truly good choices of which stages from previous games to bring back and have in his story. Also the grapics look like they are HD quality for sure. It's so annoying that the 2010s marked a time when Shadow was going to be turned into a lame, self-obsessed edgeloard. So one of my biggest hopes for this game is that it becomes a reveal that the higher-ups at Sega are finally acknowledging how much of a big mistake that was, and are using his new story in this remake/remaster as a way to show that the better written version of Shadow from the early 2000s (when David Humphrey then Jason Griffith were each having their own times of voicing that Ultimate Lifeform hedgehog,) is finally returning.

That was definitely set up strangely at the end there, why say additional if Terios is the only skin for Shadow. If it meant Sonic’s skin as well as Terios then that makes sense and I misread that. Oh well, maybe they’ll still add more skins who knows.

My theory is that Black Doom will help Shadow out of his own self interest. The Time Eater is a greater threat since the Black Arms can't conquer and fest on planets if there aren't any planets. My theory with the Time Eater is that it is the remains of Solaris. With Iblis remains having become the Ifrit from Rivals 2. Mephiles remains having become the Phantom Ruby. If they fused together Solaris would return. Solaris will have to be sealed in pieces since erasing him at one time period doesn't stop him from existing in a period before that, that Solaris can change so he survived in a new timeline.
Radical Highway was already shown to be part of the Space Colony Ark level. It has a new remix of Radical Highway, not to mention assets from the level like Chaos Cola billboards.
I think for that level it’s possible its Radical Highway but there was a screenshot that looked a lot more like Westopolis but I could be wrong. Not sure if they confirmed it.
Nibroc Rock works for SEGA dude, most of his 3D Sonic renders were uploaded on his DA and Twitter accounts years before SEGA decided to make them official in Sonic Speed Simulator.
I had no idea, I’m a bit out of the loop on Speed Simulator and X in general. But thats awesome to hear though, I’m happy Nibroc got the opportunity to due that. Been following his work for a long time
i miss the smooth shadow voice, he sound cool. the new voice he sound raspy , kirk thorton is great tho. i would put a sonic forces stage but expand it to be much much longer than the original game
He can hover with his shoes, he definitely can’t fly with them based on what I know. I think its just a nice call back to the fact that he has alien DNA and to add some more gameplay variety.

Skins and perhaps other content ought to be unlocked for completing certain aspects of the game. Not as payed for micro transaction DLC.
