Stacy was a great singer in the 1980s and very beautiful looking, her songs bring back great memories with me and the girls that I liked and loved so much yes indeed.😊
Absolutely!!! She had a really great voice which was and still is far better than most so-called singers these days…. She was also pretty cute as well too….…. The melodic production of the song which provokes emotional happy memories for me when I was a child coupled with her vocals and family friendly lyrics within the song as well too marry together perfectly…. I loved this song and could never sit still when it came on. My friend and I used to do a silly little dance to it and it made us laugh so much that we couldn't stop laughing! It made us happy and we felt good spreading the high vibes whenever we heard it!. Thank you Stacey Lattisaw for bringing such joy to a generation!
I bought this single without bothering to listen to it at the store. Narada Michael Walden's name as the producer was enough for me. I wasn't disappointed. Stacy had a great voice. Awesome joint.
So sweet, talented and innocent. Good thing she was smart and didn't let the entertainment industry corrupt her. I miss you performing Stacy. Only you know the reasons you stopped making music. I love you. Your fan for life. God bless you always.
I love this song still to this day! Never to old 🤣 music never runs away, especially when u been brought up around this sort of music .. I'm 31 and still love old music.. x makes me happy and wanna dance

I am 2 years older than Stacy.... I remember this song so well. But she looks so "lonely" on the stage and no one is dancing or moving to her song? A little strange...
It may have been shot numerous times by which point everyone in the audience is sick to death of the song and the singer's had enough. You often find that when there's a song being performed and the audience look bored stiff. Sometimes the playback level is very low in the studio so that has an effect too.

@@jeremyjeanguenin162 this is not a Bernard Edwards bass line. It is a Narada Michael Walden composition and production. Have you heard "I Should have Loved Ya" by Narada? The bass line is similar.
Thank you, I never saw Stacey (at the time) perform, I had assumed that she was black as when I first heard the 'record' I thought it was by 'the Jacksons' ! I still would not like to say which country she was from ! None of these details mattered, only the feeling one got in the midst of the dancefloor full of happy, slightly 'Sloshed' disco dancers dancing to the groove !

Wow, so many memories of this period. Her first album was YOUNG & IN LOVE produced by non-other than Van McCoy ("The Hustle") in 1978, and released in 1979. Cotillion Records had her try different producers, and one of them was Frederick Knight who wanted her to record a song he wrote called "RING MY BELL". Stacy hated it and went with Van McCoy as her producer for her debut LP. In 1979, Frederick was then hired to produce a new singer named Anita Ward and the rest is, as they say, Herstory. Frederick, a year later in 1980, released his own version of that song (retitled) "LET ME RING YOUR BELL AGAIN". Just in case people may have forgotten the tremendous rise of Anita Ward's "RING MY BELL" on the record charts.... it actually went to number one and knocked Donna Summer"s "HOT STUFF" out of that position. I never cared for the song "RING MY BELL" until it was remixed in 1990. Anyway, back to Stacy... Narada Michael Walden produced her second LP "LET ME BE YOUR ANGEL" and continued as her producer all the way to her 6th LP. She released a lot of great songs during her recording years. One well known song was 1982's "ATTACK OF THE NAME GAME" and featured Patrick Cowley on synthesizer. Ahhh... trivia. Worthless but always of interest to someone else out there.... Here's a 2012 update if you are interested: czcams.com/video/eX8D1NMIgAA/video.html
Stacy was 13 or 14 when this was released. Today you'd have a hard time finding someone in that age group who can sing without autotune and sound good.

Alright, I'll bite. Name five singer today that are 13 or 14 and can sing without autotune or heavy chorus layering. Good luck! And I do mean it sincerely.
