it keeps my lips hydrated and feels nice on. i havent had dry lips since i got it, which was february 2023 and i still have almost a half left which will probably last me for another 4-5 months. so it lasts a long time and is hydrating… i got it for 12$ off yesstyle so i’d say its worth 12$

I think Revolution Skincare deserves a honorable mention here, because they have this Berry Sleeping Mask, which is an exact dupe of Laneige. It's just cruelty free and like a fraction of Laneige's price. The texture, the smell and colour are the same, I have both and I've compared them for long time.

I tried the Torriden Lip Essence at your suggestion and it's my holy grail! Slather on a bunch at night, fire up the humidifier, and my lips are plump and hydrated in the morning.

I like the Laneige lip mask. I’ve had no issues with it. I like it for the scent and feel. But I will say I do really love the elf holy hydration lip make. Super adorable and feels great!

Laneige was gifted to me... Back then I didnt know it wasn't cruelty free ...so i kept it and used it overnight ...but woke up to a really bad acne around my mouth.. i normally am not ance prone..
Plus , I'm sensitive to fragrances... They give me headache.. and i feel sick...and it was strong and really thick..it felt like a thick waterless layer on my lips.. felt like it was sucking moisturizer out of my delicate lip skin!
Petroleum jelly is definitely a life saver!!!

I have a couple Laneige lip masks and love it. It's one of the few lip masks that actually work for my lips. I don't get breakouts or irritation/dryness from it. I'm allergic to rose, so I can't use the rose lip mask. I might try the Pacifica one, but the Laneige lasts forever.

Love Leneige Lip Mask for a few reasons 1. I enjoy using it ! Love the experience of it, very nice. 2. I can feel that it’s still on in the morning. And I like that. 3. I like the gloss look and take it to work sometimes for day wear. 4. I’ve had my pot for about a year and have gone through maybe half !

I'm a petroleum jelly fan, specially in those tiny, cute, portable tubs. I get rose bud salve when I'm being boujie. And I still get those flavored lip smackers
I use the small tubes of Cerave healing ointment on my lips. Works great and the ceramides do provide something extra over petrolatum, though that's the main ingredient. Plain petroleum jelly makes my lips chap after a while. Torriden solid in is also great during the day, but the Cerave is more healing.

On reflection of watching this video, I've been using the Laneige lip mask and i currently have a spot on my cupids bow which i never usually get... Might have just found my answer! It was on an Amazon wish up until I saw this video. Thank you for saving my money. I’m currently using CO Bigelow My Favorite Night Lip Balm and I love it. I got the Christmas bundle with Mentha lip shine and Pink Tinted mentha lip shine.

I liked Laneige for a very specific purpose. Used occasionally, like 3x a week, it would really soften my lips. Used more often, it would dry them out. I basically treated it as a lip exfoliant. I have since discovered the Care:Nel lip mask (it’s on Amazon and most K-beauty sites) which is cheaper and (imo) better than Laneige. It’s basically Laneige with petroleum jelly in it so it’s actually nourishing. It is also cruelty free, but I don’t think it’s vegan.

I've used the Laneige one and it's ok. It's more comfortable on the lips compared to plain petroleum jelly. Though, I do agree that it doesn't really do much to hydrate the lips. I tried the Torriden lipbalm that Cass recommended in a different video, and it was also ok. In general, I've yet to find my soulmate lip balm 🥲
i'm obsessed with that torriden! I highly recommend the biossance rose lip balm in the pink tube. try thattone- it stays along time but it's easy to adjust the amount that comes out of the tube.
Tatcha kissu > Summer Friday lip butter balm (vanilla, brown sugar) > Laneige (I like the vanilla) = Glow Recipe plump plum = Farmacy lip smoothie (I prefer the apple) = Rohto melty cream lip (milky vanilla) > Klavuu (vanilla)
I love the Pacifica one, but it's not widely available in the UK, so it ends up costing more than the Glow Recipe to get it. I use the elf Holy Hydration one instead, as it retails for £7, and is still decent. Xx
I get very bad chapped lips and angular cheilitis from some autoimmune diseases I have, and the Biossance rose balm has been the only thing that keeps my lips from splitting and bleeding. 10/10 would also recommend
Laneige worked absolute wonders for me. Being happy with it would be an understatement. Went from always chapped, bleeding lips to normal lips. I cant without this product

I accidentally really loved laneige, all products I’ve bought from them have worked phenomenally for me but I recently became aware of the fact that the brand isn’t cruelty free. The lip mask was my favorite as I did feel it hydrated and protected my lips, I loved the finish, and I had no problems with it, but I don’t want to support testing on animals and the price is a little much for me and I’m so glad you brought up Pacifica’s version. I will definitely be trying it, especially because all their values align perfectly with my concerns

I like Laneige lip sleeping mask (free from bulk purchases in Korea) specially water sleeping mask. But a cheaper alternative is petroleum jelly!
I have the laneige gummy bear because I love the smell of grape and its purple. While it was a splurge, I think the fact that I've had it since August makes it ok to spend the money. I wish I bought the mini. I love trying new products and so close to finishing so I can try the Sigma silken conditioning lip mask.
I bought the trial version of laneige to try it after all the hype, watching that video connected the dots for me about the little blackheads and pimples I've been getting on the verge of my lips. I actually love the dupe by Petitfee, it works amazing for me and I also use it instead of a gloss sometimes during the day!

I watched a youtuber recently (Jen Phelps if I'm not mistaken) who compared the Tatcha lip mask to the e.l.f. lip mask from their holy hydration skincare line! I believe she normally really likes the Tatcha one but said the e.l.f. one reminded her a lot of that one... only around $7 too!

I have tried the Laneige lip mask. and it's ok. I haven't had any issues, despite having sensitive and eczema prone skin.
Here in Europe we have a budget brand called W7, and they have a very similar product that works just as well. And it costs around $4...
I like the strawberry, but they have other flavors as well.

I love Laniege. I switched to Vaseline on your recommendation to save some money, and yes it works, but it doesn’t have the same lasting power. With Laniege I’d wake up with my lips still protected and had some product. Vaseline doesn’t last on me at all and my lips are dry even with thick coats before bed. So I’ve purchased a recommendation from one of the comments from Amazon and will give that a go. Thank you for this!!!
Casandra, you should really try Tatcha’s lip sleeping mask. It’s actually a different product from the Camilla lip balm. I have heard rave reviews about it online. I would have tried it, but I’m currently obsessed with the Lanolips 101 treatment. Which I absolutely recommend! Plus, it’s cruelty free, fragrance and dye free, and drugstore priced!
I know that you probably won’t try the Lanolips because it does have lanolin as a main ingredient. Though I am of the opinion that lanolin, as well as wool, is not harmful when harvested from sheep, or other wool bearing animals like alpacas. (I live in a large agricultural area. I’ve seen how wool and lanolin is gathered.) But I respect other’s own interpretation of ethics around animals and animal products. And I respect your dedication to your values. But I thought that I’d mention it in case there are others who watch you and are maybe vegetarian or omnivorous, instead of vegan. And who would want a very affordable alternative that really does amazing things for the lips.
I wear the laneige every night because I’m a mouth breather in my sleep. Laneige isn’t super hydrating so I can see how people who just want a thick nourishing lip balm would be let down, but it does create that protective barrier basically, so for my purposes it’s perfect because it stays all night and my lips get plush instead of dry. Lip balms generally sink in or dry out too much to work overnight like that for me, and Vaseline feels gross and breaks me out. So laneige it is. It truly is a “sleeping mask” for me haha. Also I got both of mine at TJ Maxx for like $14, so not so bad! Especially for the huge amount of product you get (it’s already cheaper than most drugstore lip balms by gram at full price)
Started on laneige creams/gels and the belif eye bomb after a getting them in a gift bundle, but kinda grew to love both as they seemed better for my skin than what I was using before and I really enjoy the thicker/gel moisturizers. I have a a very weak sense of smell though so the scents dont bother me much at all. I guess I actually can smell laneige products unlike nearly all others that I cant really pick up, so really it is a bonus to me. Might have to try pacifica now though!

I love using the Sephora collection lip mask in vanilla it's lovely and creamy & sometimes Elizabeth Arden 8 hour cream.
I bought Laneige once because of all the hype. Hoping it would make my lips soft and nourished feeling. Didn’t happen. Just the opposite in fact. My lips were so dry and uncomfortable feeling I never used it again. Big waste of money. Thanks for the alternatives. All you mentioned I have not tried. Nice to know there are options out there.
I have the Laneige and have no strong positive or negative feelings about it. I wouldn't buy it again because it was nothing special. However . . . I'm a knitter, and I use pure lanolin on my hands to prevent them from drying out while I'm knitting. Out of sheer laziness and not wanting to put my knitting down, I one day slapped some of that lanolin on my lips. Wow! So much better than the Laneige! I started searching for something that might include lanolin and be lip-specific - and I found Lanolips. I LOVE this product! After trying it out, I immediately bought 5 tubes - for my nightstand, my desk, my car, my purse and for when I inevitably lose one. I use the coconutter variety (which obviously contains coconut oil, but that's not problematic for me.) It's also available in other "flavors" as well as tinted varieties, and it is leaping bunny certified - all for $13.50 per tube. 💋

I’ve tried the laneige lip mask last night. I have very dry skin. My lips are my biggest problem area and I thought the mask might help.. I don’t think it did anything. My lips are probably not worse than yesterday but also not better.
I tried putting the Ordinary Hyaluronic acid on my lips followed by Vaseline and that worked and reduced the dryness. Will stick with that even though I would prefer using only one product that looks cute.
Also I would not buy any Laneige again after finding out that it’s not cruelty free. Should have checked before buying thanks for including it in the video.

Can you do a video on Colorescience? There are no thorough reviews of their skincare/ serum products. You mentioned the redness one but a lot of their products list patented ingredients and wondering if you recommend their redness product considering the price, if their other products (serums) are also worth it.

all the laneige products I used I have loved...except the vitamin c moisturizer but ill try the glow because its cruelty free. the lip mask works for me. I also use their face wash but it can be drying. my favorite product from them is the peony bounce and firm.

I don't like the laneige one. I have perioral dermatitis and it tingles on my skin, also broke me out around the lips. The one I love is eucerin aquaphor, I don't think it's made for the lips but it was the best thing I ever used on the lips and it comes in bigger size than usual lip products. My dermatologist also recommended that I use aquaphor.

I have used the laneige lip sleeping masks before and they do leave my lips slightly dry. I have not had breakouts like some of the others. What i have ended up doing is actually using Labello lip balm in watermelon (it comes in a chapstick form) and is less that $5 and it is also cruelty free.

is there a difference between fragrance/parfum and flavor/aroma does flavor/aroma still carry the same sensitizing and drying properties as fragrance/parfum?
i got the laneige one years ago before it became trendy for like £11 and i do like it but only for hydrating. if i’m having any kind of lip issues, which i do get in winter, it does not help whatsoever. basic vaseline is just so good though and helps with most skin issues i have, so i’m much more inclined to use it instead.

A friend gave me the laneige lip treatment balm (not the mask) she had got it as a promotional gift. I tried it but in a couple of days I had a lump in the corner of my lip. So I did some research on the ingredients and during that I found out it wasn't cruelty free. It went in the bin. I kept the jar because it was cute and I re-use it now for a homemade option. I do shea,jojoba,squalene and an oil of choice from my collection like apricot, argan,maracuja or kauai. I figure at least I know what's in it. I might try some rose wax next time.
The tatcha the kissu lip mask is amazing i ended up with a small thing of it and i save it for the days my lips are super dry and cracking
I used to use the vanilla laneige and then i stopped because although it didn't bother my lips i felt it didnt do much. I now use the lip vaseline and it works way better in my opinion. If you like the laneige vanilla specifically summer fridays vanilla and cay skin lip balm both smell very similar if not the same and in my opinion are very nice. Also naturium lip balms are very nice but only have a very slight vanilla scent.
I have 3 I switch through depending what dell my lips need. Tatcha The Kissup lip mask, Laneige, and Biossance rose lip balm. I have no bad reaction to any of these
When I put this lip sleeping mask on before bed, by the time I lay down, I need to reapply… I got this lip sleeping mask in an ipsy box, so I didn’t go out of my way to purchase it, but I will continue to use it the way I use it. I use my preferred lip balm underneath first and then just a dab of the lip mask because it smells delicious and helps me fall asleep. 😝
Laneige feels great when I first put it on, but an hour later it's gone and my lips are peeling like sheets of skin! it's not supposed to be an exfoliant, is it? And leaves my lips more chapped than when I started. I now use City Beauty clear, but it's super expensive and they have serious problems with keeping up production. Not sure if they're cruelty free either...

I’m wondering if the product that has Vit C is working for u is bc it’s so diluted… not in a dark bottle. My dermatologist also said, by the time it gets to us, it’s diluted.

I love Revolution Skincare Lip Replenishor! Only lip product that has helped me with my super dried lips. Every other single lip product I have tried (and I have tried a lot) made my lips feel dried minutes after. I just wish it wasn't so expensive, as I am on now my 4th tube.
BUT the Revolution Lip gloss is super sticky, if your hair fly into your face, it will get stuck there lol. So I mostly use it at night. Because of the hype, I bought the Laneige Lip Mask to use during the day. It did nothing for my lips. I don't get they hype, nice texture and smell, but that's about it.
