Hey Mark, it was great meeting you at the Scuba Show in LA. I'm involved with the Ghost Diving chapter here in California, so it's great to see that there are many other divers interested in helping and contributing to cleaning up ghost gear from our oceans! Have a great time in the Red Sea!

It was honestly a pleasure to meet you on Saturday! That is incredible you are involved already and making a difference. Wish we had something here in Australia but all controlled by Marine Parks here. Amazing to see organisations and divers trying to clean up the ghost nets like you 😊 Thank you so much we are excited to be going back to the Red Sea with amazing people!

Oh wow - I really had no idea - and this is very sad - that first shot of the dead fish under the net :( Looks like it's time to set up an Australian Ghost Net Recovery organisation.

Would be great idea. Currently the programme in Australia is run by the Marine Parks and their staff.

The fishing industry's sad reality. I agree that, as divers, we should use our skills to help save and conserve ocean life whenever possible.

Super sad, and something that has so little awareness surrounding it 😢

How much would a net like that weigh - must be a major undertaking to remove one on SCUBA

Apparently it was a huge effort. They had commercial divers too and some big boats that the marine park hired. Not sure how exactly they recovered it. Maybe in sections
