    Fun video! I am a native Californian and lived here my whole life. I try to make a point of giving people compliments if I happen to notice something I like about their look or style or whatever. It just feels good to think I’ve brightened someone’s day a little 😊it’s not fake at all.

    You didn't mention two things which some of my relatives from Europe usually mention: 1) the drive through culture (banks/atm, pharmacy, food, etc.) in which most things can done while in your car; and 2) how many stores are open almost 24 hours a day, as where they are from many stores close for 3 hours or so in the mid-afternoon and have very limited hours of operation in general.
    I remember taking them to a food store at 10 PM once to buy ingredients for some food they wanted to make and the shock that it was open "so late" to them was a bit odd, then I stopped by a drive through pharmacy for medicine on the way home and they were like "so you don't leave the car?". The next day I went through a drive through liquor store to get things for a party and got a similar reaction.
    Keep making great videos!

      Yes, some of the richest neighborhoods in the world are in Los Angeles, and there are some poor areas. Overwhelmingly most neighborhoods are middle class, like the one I live in. Lol, Anna is not even in that posh/rich area, as there are far better than that.@@TheManuel012009

    Anna, I am so pleased that your first impressions of the US are positive. I dont want to be discouraging or negative, but I think you have chosen an area that shows off the best of many aspects of life. I just love southern California! Its a big country and we have many economic levels, political points of view, and living lifestyles, not to mention geographic and climate differences. I would encourage you to travel to different parts of the country. I bet we have so much content material for your channel that content will not be a problem. I dont mean to sound negative. Just the opposite! Different reegions have their own distinct charm! Ive followed your channel for a year or two and really enjoyed your travels. Anyway, I think you have landed in one of the nicest places to start out - especially the great weather! Glad you find us warm and friendly. Hope you'll find the opportunity to eventually explore other parts of our country and share your experience here with us!

    Hi Anna, I live in the SF Bay Area in Northern CA and I love your personal videos. I’ll try to comment on your “first impressions”. 1. Weather. Yes, I must say you are at the right location for sunshine in November. It’s true for most of CA at the lower elevations. 2. Peacefulness (quiet). My only comment on this is it depends on where you are. It’s probably noisy in the big cities. 3. Customer service: polite & complimentary. I wish you find this to be true wherever you go. Now I think about it, I almost expect everybody in the service industry to be polite….so maybe I’ve taken that for granted. In general, most people are nice. If you’re always smiling and cheerful (and I know you are), people will be nice to you. I’ve been to Europe a few times & most people are nice there as well. 4. People are so fit and stylish. I can’t say this is true everywhere. Perhaps good weather & staying fit go hand-in-hand. 5. Things are big in the USA. Yes, I agree with you there. Home ownership is the American dream, and if you own a big home, you’ll need a big car. 6. Ground floor. LOL! No comment on this one😊. 7. Weed. I don’t smoke either but it’s acceptable in California. 8. Y-tuber. Very acceptable work. You have to be very talented to be able to video yourself in front of a camera and entertain people. You’re very good at it!
    Anna… I’m an old man compared to you, but if you ever need a safe, quiet place to stay in the SF Bay Area… I have two extra rooms in my home which you can stay for free. I live a half hour drive from Napa & 45 min from SF.

    Welcome to my hometown! It has been a beautiful "winter", maybe a little warmer than usual. We love Europeans here, so you are probably getting some customer service bias in your favor. Yes, this is how we are in the US. Or at least on the west coast. And ppl in LA are fitter than, say, the burbs in general, but it also depends on where the burbs are located. But LA, in particular, is its own place.

    Compliments are very normal if you are an attractive woman with a nice sense of style (apparently give it time, and you will get paranoid or irritated about it eventually) Some of these folks probably are chatting you up with an ulterior motive but it's also very normal to get random compliments from strangers.

  • @koho205
    @koho205 Před 6 měsíci +1

    so glad u r enjoying Ca. It is more "open-minded" there than some other parts of the country that can be a little less accepting of differences. It is funny how u mentioned how fit and good looking everyone is. That is exactly what I said about Norway. To me everyone there is tall. fit and extremely good looking. Although one of the girls I mentioned it to while I was over there told me that they pride themselves on being active but unfortunately, she said she has noticed more people getting heavier lately but I told her that they must be well hidden. Probably the 2 things I liked most about Europe (Switzerland & Norway) is that their healthcare is far, far better than in the US. Here you can literally go bankrupt if you get sick and secondly, I like that people in Europe are not as "Gun Crazy" over there like many here seem to be. Another thing I noticed in Switzerland and Norway is that it seems like everyone over there smokes while here in the US many are understanding the effects of cancer and carcinogens. anyway thank you for your videos. They are both informative and entertaining! You definitely have found your talent. Keep up the awesome job.

    On fitness - you are in Los Angeles, a city that literally has the stereotype that everyone here is fit and beautiful. Many folks here either work in the entertainment industry or want to work in the entertainment industry and there is alot of pressure here to stay in shape. Go to...say... the Midwest, and you will find a completely different culture.

      I was born and raised there in S. CAL. This is my opinion based on a lifetime (65 yrs) and of traveling extensively throughout our country. You are in an ideal and unique area. It's absolutely not indicative of the American lifestyle. The majority of the US is poorer, not fit, and not well dressed. Most are kind though. There are alot of friendly, compassionate people here. The number of homeless in LA is abhorrent. Our government fails to effectively address the problem. Just take a bus ride through all areas of LA and visit the homeless camps. There, life (and people) are nothing like the priviledged area you're currently living in. Or, visit an average midwestern town and get a completely different experience. I think, 'cultural diversity' best describes our country. Enjoy your stay here ❤

    • @gracedagostino5231
      @gracedagostino5231 Před 6 měsíci

      There is some truth to this, but a lot of exaggeration. Yes, there are poor and rich people in the USA. Most people are middle class, have jobs, and decent health care. That is just a fact, and people like you can't stand it when foreigners visit the USA, and don't buy into your negativity towards our great country. There are probably more rich people in LA, than any European city, and Anna can see that. Yes, there are fat people, but also, we have the greatest concentration of fitness centers in the world. Europeans in general don't work out nearly as much as we do. There are also a lot of fit people here! The only true thing you said was that most people are kind, friendly, and compassionate. @@mounthoodsts
