One lesson that I also gathered was the trauma that may have kept building from years of being denied visas, the hustles of being married for papers, and the mental stressors of immigrants in the diaspora. I wish there is some attention paid to inner battles people face but fear to open up in public. i.e., compounding stress, depression, anxiety. Investing in mental health supports for workers across all sectors, and providing support to those struggling may help address some underlying needs.
