    What if you don’t originally come with heated mirrors and want to get the ones with heated mirrors?

    Nice video- thinking of adding this to my new to me 2001 2500. My truck came with manual mirrors which I've already broken one of trying to adjust it. I'm thinking the wiring for power adjust is already in the door and ready to go. I'm curious if you have found this to be the case, and also I'm wondering why you got power for the mirror lights all the way up at the head/turn lights? Isn't there a closer place to tap power behind the headlight switch? Thanks!

    • @boostautoparts
      @boostautoparts  Před 4 lety +1

      Sometimes people put manual mirrors onto trucks that originally had power adjust; we recommend removing the door panel to see if the door panel is present. Although there may be a closer place to tap the running light and signal, we recommend tapping up front as that is always a consistent tap location throughout the years.

      Fitness Devolution I tapped my turn signals under the dash, but don’t do it. They light up with your brakes as well. Splicing it from the front lights is the best route.

      @@matthewportillo881 if you ever decide to change that setup it's a lot easier and cleaner to tap the turn signals in behind the cluster. The plug on the right side for the signal indicator arrows on the cluster work perfectly

    I have a pair of identical mirrors off Amazon but I can’t find the harness adapter on your site. Do you sell them separately?

    • @boostautoparts

      No - all of our mirrors are custom made in house and we don't sell the adapter seperately.

    For the power folding instead of the switch could I wire it on an ignition on circuit so it folds out when the key is in the on position and the truck is running and folds in when the truck is not running/key isn't in the on position?

    7:10 Isn’t the passenger side wire longer than the driver side?

    • @boostautoparts
      @boostautoparts  Před 4 lety

      The wire lengths are the same for each side, however since the passenger side has a longer run to get to the underhood area it will end up appearing "shorter" once you have it in the underhood area as shown in the video.
