Clifton Meets his First Koala Byron.

- Little Clifton the koala joey, now 10 months old and 1.7kg (3.7lb), is become much more aware of his surroundings and looking to explore. SO he's getting more time in the big aviary to practice all the skills he's going to need when he is released in several months.
Interestingly, koalas make great parents, and will even look after joeys that aren't their own - even the adult males will be gentle and caring towards an orphaned joey.
In this video Clifton meets his first koala, Byron, since he lost his mum 3 months ago as a tiny 560gram (1.2lb) joey. He was so young back then he would barely remember it, so it's like seeing a koala for the first time!
Byron is a juvenile boy weighing 3.6kg (8lb), who also lost his mum. At least now they have each other....And of course the team at KOALA RESCUE❤️🐨🐨❤️

Looks like he's suffering from Stress must feel awful to be locked in a cage.
Clifton came into care very young. So likely doesn't remember before that. Fortunately koalas are very easily released once they're big enough to feed themselves and keep themselves warm. No training by their mums required. So Clifton will be free one day. Stay tuned.

They are so beautiful. God's creatures. I love them so much. I hope that they are able to adjust to captivity for a period of time then be released back into the wild to help teach other koalas :) I believe that truly would happen. Koalas need to expand their diet so that their brains have the proper nutrition to think better. They are so sweet & I believe they are smarter than they are given credit for.... I love these animals so much & they need to be safeguarded so that the species doesn't go extinct. :)
