Peabo Bryson and Regina Belle - A Whole New World (Landau Guitar Cover)

- I haven't seen Aladdin since I was probably 4 or 5 years old, but I've listened to this song so many times. It's my favourite Disney song, and I'll fight to the death defending it against 'Beauty and the Beast' and/or 'Can You Feel the Love Tonight'. Anyway, incredible songwriting from Alan Menken and Tim Rice, and what a performance from Peabo and Regina. The infamous guitar solo is from, what most of us believe, Michael Landau, and instead of just doing a solo cover, I thought I would try and add some Landau and Huff style work throughout the rest of the song. I had a lot of fun doing it and I got a chance to try out my new pedal, the Redseven Lil'Wave to give me a 'tri-chorus' type sound. I hope you enjoy!

I use a Jackson Dk2 into a Boss Me50 (where I get my tone), into a Redseven Lil' Wave for my chorus, into a Palmer Pdi-09 (which simulated a mic'd up cab) into a Focusrite Scarlett into my computer running Logic Pro X (where I add a little EQ and Reverb and for the WDW setup some micro pitch and stereo delays).

I love that factory patch "Crystal Rhodes" from the Roland JD-800 and all those cheesy DX7 electric piano sounds used in songs like these. So cheesy and romantic.

Thanks Pier! I’ve tried a few different ‘faux tri-chorus’ pedals over the years, and the Lil’Wave seems to nail the depth and tone the best so far.

What I really like about this, is that You love rock like all people following You (I guess), but You still appreciate great music in other genres.

I like melodic music with interesting harmonic content, if it includes guitar work, then that's a bonus, although I find a lot of what I listen to these days doesn't have much guitar in it.
At 30 seconds it's a volume swell of a little chord high up the frets.

I’ll have my moments when I’m in the mood to play more heavy stuff, and there’s certainly heavy tracks on my list to cover, but I get a lot more joy listening and playing to stuff like this these days.
