    Great video - really appreciate the Q&A!
    I'm considering the Geo 2.5 and also have a Leitner rack with a 270 awning on the driver side. Any chance you could measure the distance between your awning and the tent/tent latch? I'm concerned I'll have the same issue as you and want to get an idea of it before I buy.

      Thank you 🙏 so much for your comment. Unfortunately I just sold everything because I’m in the process of a new build so I can’t measure but I will say that if you have the leitner rack system and you buy the leitner awning mounts you should be able to slide everything to as close as possible to a center point. I did shave the handle on the tent because I wanted Ed to keep everything as tight as possible but there is definitely wiggle room in the set up. Hope this was helpful.

    You're right about those latches with the awning. I'm still trying to decide how I'm going to do mine.I have an Xtrusion Overland rack but I'm sure I'll have the same issue.

      Any thoughts on shaving them down? I shaved off the lip down to as far as I could take them and it hallows me clear. What ever you do don’t move the latches from there spot. I did that and it didn’t help. The only other thing would be to adjust the awning to be higher or lower then the latch. Best of luck

      @@FindingJay Nah, I don't have any advise. I would have thought about doing what you did. I think I would lower my awning. My rack is already tall so it might not be to bad. I haven't purchased an awning yet. I'm still doing my research on them. I'm leaning towards a 180 degree awning.

      @@rdetrp I’m loving the ikamper Exoshell 270 but another one to consider is the OVS. They make a great quality awning. I had both the 270 and the 180 on my trailer and they worked great.

    • @rdetrp
      @rdetrp Před rokem +1

      Yeah the OVS is one of them.

    That’s a great set up. Do you have links to all your accessories that you purchased?

      Thank you. Most of my videos will show links to the primary accessories used during the video. If I do forget to add a link I will definitely be happy to share it with anyone that’s sees something of interest.

    Looks good, how does it handle on the highway and do get much wind noise while driving. Do you notice it up there especially the awning since it looks like its out oast the sode of the truck? looks like your and the wife are ready to camp. See ya in the campgrounds.

    • @FindingJay
      @FindingJay  Před rokem +1

      Thanks Mike. I actually just answered this question with someone else. The set up didn’t change anything with the drive. There’s no wind noise and no fuel drop. I tried to keep everything as aerodynamic as possible so as to prevent drag and wind noise.

    How much weight can you add on the bars if you have on the rtt?

    • @FindingJay
      @FindingJay  Před 6 měsíci

      So coincidentally enough I do have the roof top tent bars but I have yet to put them on. I would love to give you an answer by opening the box but at this time I’m moving and have already packed up the box with the bars. Hopefully I can come back to you in about 2 weeks if I remember and have an answer for you but for now I think if we go on there website there should be something on the weight capacity for them.

    Are you getting much wind noise while driving?

    • @FindingJay
      @FindingJay  Před rokem

      That’s a great question because it is actually the first thing I checked. As far as driving with it the answer is no. Like any other tent if it is windy outside when your in the tent you are going to get some flapping of the material but because of how tight this tent is when it’s set up it’s very minimal.

    Yo bro. You on Instagram? I just started my overland build on a 23 f150

    • @FindingJay
      @FindingJay  Před rokem

      Unfortunately I only have CZcams for now but maybe I’ll start IG someday soon since everyone keeps telling me to start one….lol. I do have Facebook. It’s the same as my CZcams “finding Jay”. A 23 is gonna be sweet man. I would love to see what your doing with yours. I’m in VA if you ever wanna do a meet and overland camping trip with a couple of us one day and your on the east coast. If you can share your build on CZcams I can follow you also. Let me know. Which f150 did you get? The eco boost? The v8? The POWERBOOST?
