Welcome to Kevin's European Garage this is a DIY on how I replaced the front brakes on my 2013 Porsche Cayenne with a Powerstop Kit. Instagram ► / kevins_european_garage
Thanks Kevin. This is a great video. Once the pads are out of caliper, I always spray inside of calipers with brake fluid to get the grim out. Good idea? Bad Idea? Do the caliper bolts need replacing? Can't you just clean them with a wire brush and put them back on? Never had issue with caliper bolts freezing in place or braking on any of my vehicles.
Thanks as always. You've saved me a fair amount of money. When do you think you will change the transmission fluid in the Cayenne? That would be helpful. This weekend I will be changing the HVAC blower as the resistor failed and now only have one speed. Thanks again.
Just got my ‘11 and had to have my alarm module replaced by Porsche (I could have done it but it’s my wives work vehicle and she didn’t wanna wait) anyways when it was there they said to replace the front brakes for $1059 but I’ve priced out some EBC or Stoptech for all 4 corners for the same price. I did see these on Amazon for about $400 less how long did they last you if you don’t mind me asking?
I managed to find the from carparts.com. What size rotors do you have on your car? I have a set of 350mm diameter front rotors from powerstop slotted and drilled. That i did not use. Message me if your interested maybe they might fit if i know know more about your car.
They are about that same as factory. its hard for me to gauge. I was driving with aftermarket pads and rotors for a while before going to the power stop
Can't wait for the fluid change video. That's next on my list of to-do for my new-to-me Cayenne
I hope soon. I can’t turn out videos like I used to. But its on the list.
Thanks for posting this vid. I’m about to take on this brake job and you’ll be a great guide as I follow along between vid pausing.
Nice comprehensive video. Thanks.

Useful details. Thank you

Great video Kevin! Where did you find the torq specification for the 2 galiper bolts? Thanks
I use alldata diy to get my torque specs
Love the choice in rotors for the front. Where did you find them? I am having trouble finding drilled/slotted rotors for the front on my 958.1

How would you describe the power of the powerstop brakes compared to the factory brakes? How much of an increase in braking power would you estimate ?

How are you able to rotate & turn the wheel? Doesn't it lock the steering once you take out the key? Do you leave it in neutral?
Most of newer cars, including Porsches, do not have physical keys; only push buttoms to start, and therefore no lockable steering columns.
