I am boots on the ground and will be covering hurricane Beryl through it's entirety. Including where / near where the eye wall hits & surveying the damage afterwards.

I'd so love to be there! I've seen tornados here in Oklahoma.. most of my life... I've had to leave Florida for a hurricane evacuation since I wasn't a resident.. I've been in massive storms on cruise ships.. I want to witness a hurricane b4 I leave this place! Call me crazy! Im 56! Im very jelly right now! Stay safe and God bless!

The Packery Channel jetty is closed because it is super slick and not safe to walk down towards the end from all the algae on the concrete of which gets worse and almost impossible once you pass the safety gate. In the past, people were literally swept off the jetty by the waves because you literally have no traction. I was out there last night fishing in the channel but, I was over by the boat launch.
WOWZA!! So glad they put the gate up.. There are adrenaline seekers who have no fear and take mother nature for granted!!

This is not the storm surge yet, this is regular rain storm waves. It will get 2 to 3 feet higher when the storm surge hits
Maybe it will clean up tomorrow for the local surfers to enjoy
