- South Carolina Baseball and LSU Baseball played in the 2024 SEC Baseball Semifinal. This was one of the craziest, wackiest, most insane games of baseball I've ever seen in my life. This is one of those games you will remember where you were when it happened live.

Umps ball/ strike calls favored the cocks the entire game, then the bullshit call on the attempted steal at home . Those umps sucked.

Very good game by LSU. This is ultimately a key reason why you never let your foot off the gas pedal when up 8-0. The grit LSU has and is showing is going to be hard to defeat them.

Coming from a carolina fan i agree. They need a complete reboot. Why the hell he brought monte lee back as a hitting coach. Left Clemson and clemson wasnt a good hitting team now they have a new hc and are a better team and better hitting team. Also they committed more errors than ive seen a sc team commit in a long time. Maybe more this season than the last few combined
Not cocky. Just really bad defense. 7 errors in two games against LSU this week. And really could have been more like 10 if the scorers table hadn’t been so forgiving. Can’t win games giving up that many unearned runs.

Not the umps fault. They weren’t allowed to review it. They made the right call assuming they thought the catcher stepped on home plate. It’s an awful rules the umps did their job.

So what exactly was...bad? The catcher cannot step up so that the batter doesn't have a way to swing..whether he swings or not.

@@sgrady1989the call made was that he cannot step on or in front of home plate on a steal before he has possession of the ball. He did neither of those things as proven by video evidence. It had nothing to do with the batter or the batter swinging. Especially since the batter stepped out of the box when he saw the runner stealing from third… so the horrendous call is that they let the run count when the out was played perfectly and legal.

Didn’t watch the game live but just based on those set of highlights, yo that game was bonkers. Defense took a back seat on this one, tough day to be a third basemen. LSU for sure earning their stripes in this one. Could have easily folded at the end after stealing home call didn’t go their way. LSU FIGHTING TIGERS BABY!!! Tigers, be sure to eat your Frosted Flakes for in the morning and let’s go be GREAT again! Defending champs are here to stay. For those who don’t like it, OH WELL. GET USE TO IT!!! 😂😂😂

Batter left the box during the pitch and with a runner on base...that's 2 strikes right there and end of inning.
That’s interesting. Also makes me wonder though if they go with the same ruling they did saying Neal was on or in front of the plate would that not be catchers interference even without a runner stealing from third? I guess if the batter steps out of the box like you pointed out it would be strike three immediately then which would technically be before Neal moved up… crazy play…

He did the "Monster" Smash, a SEC game ending bash. There needs to be a rule change on scoring plays being able to be reviewed. Wrong call, I watched the video of the Ump trying to explain but video shows it was a wrong call. Thankfully, it didn't cost a team the game.

Genuine question, if the batter decided to swing and made contact with the catcher would it be catchers interference or is it different when someone is stealing home. Because it looked to me like the pitcher delivered a pitch. He did not step off.

@@Bravesfan12345 True, umps get a lot of blame, but at the same time Neal never touched or got in front of home plate, so the umps are wrong in this instance. At the very least, this rule should be reviewable by video replay.
@@sgrady1989 The batter vacated the box. When no hitter is looking to swing the rule has to be adaptable to the situation.

when we got a home run at the end, my dad said "you cant protest that" because they protested that their guy on third base got home even though he was stopped before home base, and the catcher didnt break any rules

I've watched the slow motion replay about 15 times. His knee didn't touch the plate until he had the ball.

Umpires didn’t do anything wrong. And this is far from the worst umpires game I’ve seen this season. The umpires weren’t trying to make it about themselves. They were trying to make calls according to the rules.

The batter stepped out of the batter's box on the pitch which should be strike 3. This violation happened before the catcher moved to block the plate. I wonder if they could have asked for a review on this violation instead?
