    I didn’t even think about using coffee grounds! Love that you’re recycling them too instead of just throwing them away!

      yeah I once read to use coffee grounds for cellulite but you had to rinse off in a bucket outside so I didn't think it was worth the effort. Also what about the coffee grounds effect on the baby? I don't know if caffeine would get through to it?

    Thank you for this. I’ve been using coffee grounds every week, and I’ve noticed how smooth my pregnant belly is. I’m only 19 weeks :) and starting to have a bump so I’ve been using oils, bio oil and coconut oil, so far so good!

    I'd read Vitamin A has been linked to birth defects. Did your doctor say anything about that, with the rose hip oil? I've been using Vitamin E oil, but rose hip would smell much better

    • @JuliaRaeConnor
      @JuliaRaeConnor  Před 3 lety +16

      Thanks for your comment! And sorry for the late reply, life with a newborn has been all consuming haha. I asked both my midwife and my OB about using rosehip oil and both said they had zero concerns. My OB explained that the issues regarding vitamin A have to do with synthetic retinoids as they have been shown to cause miscarriages and birth defects. Studies were then taken one step further and have cautioned against using topical retinoids, such as Retinol, as well. She explained that there is a HUGE difference between transretinoic acid found in rosehip oil and the much more potent, synthetic versions that are popularly used in anti-aging skin products. I hope that helps a bit! :)

    • @JuliaRaeConnor

      I never developed one! My midwife said often very pale women won't get one, so maybe it just came down to my skin tone. :)

    • @chiraine1
      @chiraine1 Před 3 lety +3

      Not everyone gets them while pregnant, and loads of people have them without ever being pregnant. Its a genetic/hormonal thing. Ive had my line since i was about 12 years old, so has my sister. And my mom had her line before having us aswell. I wonder how it will change when i have a baby myself.

      I started bio oil and stretch mark cream as soon as I found out I was pregnant (4 weeks).. I’m now 20 weeks and have kept up with it 1-2x a day. I’m talking to my doctor about starting collagen. And I’m exfoliating my stomach more. Also eating avocados and cucumbers *with the skin* can help with skin elasticity too!
