Check the Green House that Lumina Acres installed on his homestead. It is good for very high winds and one I would install on my place if I were to get one
Yes I like it and follow them also.
Agreed. I follow Lumnah Acres as well.
Once all siding on house and shop is done, then simply buy or rent a gas pressure washer and hit the boards. Don’t have to outthink or over do it. Let it then dry in the sun for a good week to 10 days. Don’t need to sand. Then stain.
Heath said this is the north side jof the house. No sun.
Ruby is truly one of your kids. I loved how she store surfed on the flatbed shopping cart! What a closing shot - so curious to see why a Thiokol Spryte was used to sign off. You keep us guessing!
Hi 👋 Heath and Cedar!
My Husband and I live just about an hour away from you guys. We would love to come help you out. Sounds pretty fun.
My stepdad grew up there.
We go thru your cute little town all the time. We have been watching your videos for about 3 years or so. We love watching your channel. You have a Beautiful family! Thanks so much for sharing. 😊
Hello 👋 dear how are you doing?
I live in Sydney Australia, only seem snow once in my life for 4 days when I went on a holiday skiing. I'd like to thank you for finally ridding myself of the dream of living in snow. After watching the trouble snow causes you I'm happy where I am. Great vid great content. Thank you.
Come to Syracuse New York . We see snow about 6 months a year.
Hey Heath & Cedar, maybe a silly question but will you also make a video of the up and coming wedding ? As I am sure many fans have followed your off grid lives since the start and what a beautiful way to celebrate withyour global extended family
thank you for taking the time out of you and your families life to share your ongoing adventure with us and please keep sharing.
Appreciate the sharing your journey. I really like when you comment through the video and give your thought and inputs about what you are doing. Keep up the great work!!
The view from atop of the porch is fabulous, really nice to see you closing in on yet another project, this one has been very labor-intensive. Hope all is well stay safe, thanks for letting us tag along.
Hello Hats off to you you r doing an awesome job n teaching people to learn life’s realities thanks to you I’m doing much better in planning n saving a lot of time ALL THANKS TO YOU
Heath You are a carpenter Beast! That roof is really coming along! I can see that there is a balance that you maintain and that Cedar is a great anchor and compliment for you! Thanks for sharing.
A geothermal greenhouse sounds like a great idea. One thing to consider is that digging the structure into the hillside would decrease the sun exposure since you're on a North slope. You can always add lights inside, but maybe not the best option.
Have you considered digging a geothermal loop into the hillside? Should be quick work with the excavator, and can be quite cheap with some scrap HDPE/PP piping. You can size the system big enough to have a source of heat for the greenhouse as well as the shop and house. For those two, could provide just enough base heat to keep them above freezing, then keep using wood for "comfort" when needed.
Looking forward to see what you decide to go with, thanks for sharing these videos as always!
My Mom moved to Ireland, donegal County noth, by the sea. They used geothermal heat sinks to help lower the cost for heating and cooling their house. Eventually added a wind turbine for power generation because they are also up in hills and elevation. I've loved the work I've seen on big greenhouses in the ground that tie in water and hydroponic systems together. Making it big enough for some full size fruit trees is just a matter of going down enough with a great roof and pitch. You could also add solar and wind to tie into the greenhouse and supliment the house. Tilapia could even be added if you wanted to go into fish as the geo could be enough to help maintain constant temp. Giving you full time year round growing seasons. Looking forward to see what you guys come up with.
You guys are all doing such an amazing job! Keep up the great work. Your channel is my favorite on CZcams by far and I always look forward to the next video. My wife and I like to have a little competition to be the first to find the newest video. God Bless your family and thanks again for the inspirational life!
Awesomeness in the works, glad to see the weather was cooperating somewhat for the porch. Love what you're doing ❤️
Hi Heath and Cedar. Great to see Ruby assisting you through the store for material. The front porch will be completed in no time, wonderful workmanship.
Heath , Your work is so Well Done ! God Bless you all .. And your two eldest . Congratulations 🎈 for both of them !💖💙
Amen on that pneumatic Tico nailer. They are worth every penny. I learned that valuable lesson hanging all the joists in my 40’X60’ shop, while working 18’ up on a scissor lift. A hammer and nails was as slow and molasses in Winter.
Well I am glad that you love the lifestyle of being closer to the land , and growing/ finding/ hunting your own food. I am also glad that there are enough people around the world who spend their time earning a living cutting the timber, making computers, tractors, fridges, growing wheat, etc , and watching CZcams., thus funding your choices.
Great content! We'll start sending your channel to our clients who recently bought land from us near the rural areas. This will surely give them awesome ideas. Thanks for sharing! 😊
I'm also a huge fan of Alaska The Last Frontier. I'm also a huge fan of the homestead rescue. Some of the green house the daughter builds is amazing and could benefit you. There was one with rocks to keep it warmer in the winter months
You should check out chris harbours channel and the greenhouse he built
@@paddycaseygsxr he pretty bad ass too with his hydro
yes a greenhouse ours is just a 10x16 and if you build shelving on both sides it's really amazing the amount you can start and grow in this little space .Your project is looking great looking forward to see the projects on the new property well done sir another great video thank you
I am totally surprised that you haven't rigged yourself a scaffold to do all that work, my friend, lot easier than climbing up n down ladders .... thanks for the awesome channel, I've been watching since the beginning ...cheers from Australia 👍👌
I agree, I'm from the UK and we would of set up a full length platform for ideal working height, a few hours to set up but once done its well worth it.
It looks great, truck and porch! Love the cabin and your family time together.
This new front porch is looking awesome. Is visible the difference what all that you've have learned made in the quality of this new front porch
I really like who you guys are. Watching your curiosity and critical thinking is refreshing.
I love hard work like that and the company I just started with does barbed wire fencing for the railroad in the winter there would be no one better to learn from than you my friend!!! I Wish I had vacation time to take and help you! Hopefully one day I'm able to take one but working with you for a little while would be my dream job !!! God bless you and your family sir!! 🙏
A new to you snowcat! That will be very useful in the winter!
That LAST closing shot has PEAKED my interest. New Snow Plow for RPR?
The Porch is coming along nicely. Love watching the progress and the Red Truck is looking sharp as usual.
probably not. he wants a vehicle the will climb the steep hill to the back of the property.
Very nice design... I'll be emulating this identical project off the back side of my old barn out in the country... It's going to work out well thank you for posting this video!
You've a beautiful mountain, #RedPoppyRanch all! Wonderful perspective of the work! Ruby has matured. Looking forward to next installment, figuratively and literally! :-) Nice work all around - composition, visually and narration...great story! Thank you!
Great job sir... The best to you and your family.
Wonderful story!! I'm motivated by watching you. Thanks!
Take care . You are a hard worker, Heath. Be blessed.
Great progress! 😃👍🏻👊🏻
The pitch on the new porch covering looks so much better, not to mention the snowfall will slide off as you intended. So happy to see the hummingbird feeders go up! Hard to believe the wedding is just around the corner! I imagine you must all be so very happy and excited. Yes, a garden is a must. I hope everyone will take this suggestion to heart. Until next time, sending hope and love. ❤️
Loved all your thoughts on this video
Fantastic job on the porch , great video as usual. Thank you !
When I was a kid growing up in the construction business most framing outfits used "Comet Saws". They were a big radial miter saw on a trailer. There are still some around. Black and Decker made one too.
Outstanding!!!!!!
New pitch looks great! and that toy at the end there, oh boy, going to be a fun winter!
I am constantly amaised by your work ethic. and continually trying to better better your self, keep up the good work. i like watching your videos, and stay safe.
the Miter saw table!!!!! what a Gift !
Thank you for yet ANOTHER great video. Keep up the good work. It all looks wonderful. God bless.
Looks so good!
Hello 👋 dear, how are you doing?
18 months later ….
Heath “ I’m stripping the porch back to the wrapping this week as I noticed on playback the Everbilt Logo was upside down Cedar”
Cedar “ I’m learning to shoot clay pigeons in the front yard this week honey“.
You have a good head on your shoulders. You are self taught and learn as you go. You correct when you can. Re-do's are sometimes par for the course for long lasting results long into the future. There are those who criticize you dont do it right the first time but they are sitting home all comfy never even attempting what you have. Dont listen to them. Blessings forever to you and your family and homestead.
It already looks great Heath and Cedar, and thanks so much for sharing your awesome videos. Blessings! ☺️☺️☺️👍👍👍👏👏👏🤩🤩🤩💯💯💯🙌🙌🙌
So are you building an extension with a master bathroom !!!
You are doing an amazing job,I bet cedar is excited to get the space back.
My thoughts exactly! 😁
Next Mother’s Day Or birthday present I bet. That’s about the only way he’s gonna top that Jeep!
I'm thinking they might turn an attached bedroom into master bath. Time flies & kids grow up so fast. May be an empty nest update??
Cedar & Heath the porch is looking Awesome 👏🏻😎 ! I’m sure your humming birds will be happy to have their feeders back up.
Oh my Goodness Heath has bought a Snow Cat, Boy will that be handy in those blizzards y’all have. Praying 🙏 for you guys! 😊
Hello CC Rider. Did you see Senior Outsider passed away recently?
@@sinbads.4189 Yes my heart is broken 💔 he and I emailed back and forth, such a tragedy. He was a good Christian Man and I’ll definitely miss him.
@@CCRider5312 I knew you guys had a special bond. I will miss him also. God bless you.
@@sinbads.4189 yes sir thank you & God Bless ya brother 👍
CC , I thought that I was there only one that caught on to that surprise it looks nice especially if they do get more deep snow in the coming winters . I also enjoy their videos !...!...!
I love that show. I watch it every time it’s on.
The very best teacher I have ever known used everyday life lessons as their primary classroom tool.
Thanks for the video. God bless you and your family.
You are doing a great job we got snow here in salt lake city Utah last week.
And now it is blowing hard here .
The patio is looking really good.
From Neil schwerdt in west valley city Utah.
That's my favorite show of all! Great choice 👌
I like the casual display of the tracked vehicle at the end to leave us hanging. Looks like He finally found the perfect snowplow vehicle, just in time for summer. 😁
The roof is looking really good Heath, I was telling my parents the other day about your channel and about all the projects you have done over the past several months. And told mom she needs to start watching your channel. She watches a few here and there on CZcams, and she said she would go on your channel and watch some of the videos and see how she likes it. I told her she would not be disappointed, cause all your videos are amazing. I love how you do the voice over in your videos, the stories you tell about your family, your dad, grandparents and the kids from time to time. Wish I lived closer to you all would be a fun day to spend on the homestead with you all. See you all on Wednesday
Awesome job 👌👌👍👍👍👍

Hello 👋 dear, how are you doing?
always enjoy watching your channel.
Pretty work. Ridged construction.
Looking forward to your take on a green house. That should be a fun project.
Who needs any prime time TV when there are The Essential Craftsman, Engals Coach Shop, Mr Chicadee, Sampson Boat Co. and of course RPR right here on YT.
You need to add Awesome Framers.
I was thinking about your wanting to build a greenhouse where you can grow things deep into the winter. I stumbled across a Family in France but just bought an old Condit it was starting to clean it up. The greenhouse they found there as they were looking it over they got to talking about how it was different from the one at the Château that they rebuilt. It was different because it was built down into the ground so that the ground was essentially at the level of all the tables in the greenhouse. It also had running water and heating ducts from the furnace that was in the basement of the convent. It was also built attached to the wall of the convent but I don’t remember what was on the other side of the wall. That way the greenhouse have glass only along one side both ends, and the roof. Obviously they were able to grow ve well into the fall as well as starting them much earlier than you could outdoors in the spring. I think I saw it with the caption “Touring our Convent”. The name of the series is “doing it ourselves “also “the Plethricks”. They bought a château and fixed it up and now living it, but they just bought a huge convent that includes an apartment building about a quarter acre courtyard (which they had to strip to the ground because of too many years of neglect) second and third floor had something like 40 rooms for the nuns there was a large chapel, classrooms of some sort and offices as well as a large kitchen with pre-electric storage for fruits and vegetables. Quite impressive really. Anyway you might get some ideas from them as to how to make a greenhouse that is protected from the wind yet gets enough sun to grow things in it. Hope all this helps you find what you need. Hooking it into the house heating system for you would not necessarily be a good idea since you have no boiler to run pipes out to warm the greenhouse. I don’t know if this will help but it is certainly worth taking a look at. I love your videos of the way you figure things out for yourself what works and what doesn’t work. Hope this helps.
Keep up the great work - look forward to these videos every week!
Very nice looking and Heavy duty Framing, Heth!
That was a great video you are always busy I never seen a guy like you I like watching your videos
Heath thankyou and Cedar for sharing your homestead and ongoings with all of us!! It’s a privilege to see how other people live and thrive in this world! May l ask what happened to Rubys tail (her happy button)?? Did you lop it or did she arrive like that?!! It’s sad to see only part of her happy button working!
Heath and Cedar you should be proud of yourselves for how you are living, creating and developing on RPR.
Well done. God bless. Big hugs for all.
Another brilliant video. Watching from Yorkshire England.
Porch has a better angle for sure! Great decision to redo it!!
Glad your finally doing a workshop and getitng some help
Hey Heath seeing this reminded me the time you did this and got clonked by a beam. Pleased all going well - didn't know you got, earthquakes in your neck of the woods.

Great episode as usual!!!!
What a beautiful house on a beautiful property you have, God Bless.
Great job on the porch.
ANOTHER TOY!!!!!
Aw, I’ll miss the tin footing, I think that gives such a unique character to the house.
Awesome 😎
To be completely honest, I have to say I’m envious I love the life you live. Too bad my disabilities keep me from doing what I. Want . I can to have a better life, I strive for a better life. Your videos motivate me.
Greatings to dear Busted Wagon family🙏👋
Those miter saw tables are life changing
Amazing to see you race against the clock getting all this work done in time for your daughter's wedding! Greetings from my Disneyland neighborhood here in Southern California!
Hi Kerri 👋
How are you doing today?
I'm so sorry for you.
I do genealogy as a hobby and what you said about what our ancestors had to do when they first came to this country, be it coming over on the Mayflower or in the bowels of a ship from the Irish/Scot lands from a potato famine. I always enjoy reading or watching what things were like when they got here. Oh the torture for Ruby, all those lovely turkeys and can't go after them. lol
Hello merryanne
Looks like new snow plow Heath should have no trouble plowing now great job on the porch roof as always hang in there the wedding will soon be over.
Looks great! I bet you get more light in the house.
I love the show Alaska The Last Frontier!! Porch is looking great.
Have a great week RPR family. Starting to get pretty nice outside, and I'm hating being inside at work more and more LOL. Its time to find a much better career.
I was hoping you'd have more information about your new toy...err Snow Cat...but I guess that's coming in a later video. Always wanted one of those, but I'd have to haul it to the snow, we don't get enough here in Emmett, ID to use anything like that.
I like the taller roof on your front porch!
I have porch I built like that and the birds love, absolutely love to build nests on the front beam, and poop everywhere. Wish I had put the blocking to the inside then at least the nests would be to the out-door side. Good luck.
As always, I enjoy your videos.
I love watching all your videos
Nice Job...
I was just sitting here catching up on rep poppy ranch videos and just watched the overnight at the cabin video and was thinking how you needed a solar generator sponsor while you loaded the gas generator into the trailer to head up to the cabin then I start this video. That should keep it really peaceful up there.
We need your weather desperately in NM, almost 6000 acres have burned d/t drought, wind, and ill advised (ie bloody daft) “controlled burns”.
FP looking good Heath, no surprises here though. EVERYTHING you do is awesome, your the whole pkg and thankfully you married Cedar, she has no doubt brought out the best of you there is!
Congratulations on your lovely daughter’s wedding fast approaching, God Speed you get all the Preparations finished in time - especially the round cake table!
Last Frontier. Good story; good show!
Thanks for sharing👍🤗❤
