  • How To Speak CLEARLY And Confidently 3 Tricks, How To Speak clearly? This video is here to assist you in being able to finally being able to speak clearer, without speaking like a robot. Proper speech for clarity, is very important, whether that be on stage, on screen, or in your everyday life interactions. Our speaking skills is sometimes something we need to develop if clarity of the information we present is not clear. Many times, its just a simple adjustment or dedicated practice that you need in order to clear this up. If mumbling is an issue for you, than say good bye to the mumbling and put in the time so you can be mumble free.
    Many people have asked me "How can i speak clearly?" or "How to have clean speech?"
    My answer is to find a source that you find helpful and then practice it daily and find what the results have given you. Like everything, it takes time and practice to get better at something, and with your speech, you have to be clear on what it is you are working on and decide how you can get better at it.
    Keep at it and don't give up. Remember, speech is one of your most important tools that you have and if you can't be understood by the audience or the camera, it will be something you have to spend time on developing.
    Ever wonder what it takes to be an actor or what you can do to progress forward in this field? I did, so I figured out how to do it. Like you and many other actors, I found it struggling in the beginning, but after obtaining an immense amount of training and becoming a better actor I found some of the secrets that nobody tells you. Acting doesn’t have to be this overly complex thing, though it’s made out to be and though the learning curve can be hard, I’ve been able to help others by quickly and easily cutting that learning curve by literally making everything we do simple, logical, and to the point. There is not one complete and only avenue to becoming an actor, there are many paths you can take. You can take the curvy path, the rough and bumpy path, or easy/simple straight path (which I tend to prefer). Let’s make acting easy, simple, and fun again.
    Subscribe to my channel, share these videos, and let’s assist in pushing other actors forward to where we’re trying to get.

      Hey man, first step is to change your outlook on yourself. It may seem cliche, but your voice is your voice, don’t hate yourself for what you have no control over. Your voice/personality/outlook are factors to your uniqueness. Some of the most famous people are famous because of the uniqueness that they bring and the recognizable voices that they have. For example Christopher Walken, Jack Nicholson, or Anthony Hopkins. If people like Adam Sandler, Kevin James, or Chris Rock decided to judge themselves on particular aspects of their self (whether it be vocally or not) they wouldn’t have the success they’ve gained today.
      This applies to individuals in any field in any aspect of life. Albert Einstein, Abraham Lincoln, or even Elon Musk. If they didn’t believe in themselves enough, they wouldn’t be where they are today. You must believe that your worth is important and that you have it. Accept your voice, because it’s yours. I’ll tell you this man, everyone I work with always thinks the grass is greener on the other side. People with high voices want low voice and people with low voices want high voices. Don’t try to change what you don’t have control over, focus on what you can control. Your health, social circle, wealth, and Knowledge. You’ll do yourself a favor for the long run 👍🏼

    • @TheActorsAcademy
      @TheActorsAcademy  Před 5 lety +320

      We all tend to think that about ourselves. Anytime we record a new message on our answering machines we think “oh that’s what I sound like?” Many actors have actually used this as an example. Benedict Cumberbatch has said it about himself. Though it may be off for him to hear, we the people don’t necessarily think anything of it.
      In short what I’m saying is, you’re probably being to hard on yourself about your voice. We can tend to be our worst critics sometimes. Focus more on being understood, rather than the pitch your voice is giving off. We all have a vocal range that we naturally sit in, and most likely your range is fine. Spend more of your time being understood rather than thinking about pitch

    3 more tips:
    1. Think before you speak: we often give more time for other people to say something than we do ourselves. Don't rush and think about what you say before speaking. This will not only give you time to organize your thoughts but others will also appreciate it.
    2. Talk more: If you have a hard time talking, it's likely because you aren't used to it. Practice talking more. It can not only help you fix your speech but also make it easier for you to speak in general.
    3. Stop adding unnecessary words/phases to your conversations: many people have the habit of adding "umm" "uhh" "basically" "and then" etc words and phases to their everyday conversations which is unnecessary and can also be distracting or annoying to some people. Be aware of what you are saying and practice cutting these types of audio out of your vocabulary unless needed.
    I hope these can help some of you 😊❤

      Can't agree more on the 2nd point. We don't have enough face to face conversations in this day and age resulting in us not speaking enough and the truth is it's like any other muscle: the more of it you use, the more of it you HAVE. The more you speak, the more you CAN speak.

      @@thelegendarysupersaiyanbro6535 Thank you, your comment just made me feel better and made me giggle. Not laughing at you though. I do the same and it can be very frustrating and make you feel worthless and give you a lack of confidence when speaking to others. I struggle to form sentences and communicate them as well. I cannot seem to speak fluently. English is my native language as well and I don't speak any other languages so it's not that it's affected. I think my problem with being able to form a sentence when speaking is because I overthink at the same time how people are going to see me if I cannot communicate properly which gives me social anxiety and also a worry I carried on from my teens was if I don't speak quick enough people will just lose interest in the conversation or someone will but in. Also, I feel like people look at me oddly when I can't speak very well and I get paranoid that people think I'm unintelligent because I sound it when I speak. I always wish I had the gift to be able to speak so fluently like others with a flow and not overthinking. When I was a kid before I hit my teens I was able to speak fluently with ease and life was so easy because of it. Ever since my teens, it got worse. I'm now 26 and still not improved. My family and friends tell me I sound fine but I know I cannot talk properly and made many mistakes not being able to form a sentence and it is worse at work, especially in my job field it doesn't help. I think I'm going to go doctor to find out what it is and how to get help and go from there as I have left it for too long.

If you sound confident, provide validations of your points, and maintain an even temperament, you don't need to speak fast to get a powerful point across. People who speak fast in arguments tend to come across more as bullies than knowledgeable or convincing. If you speak slowly and don't get flustered, it exudes confidence and authority.

      It’s “talking anxiety”. Like learning pain. Your brain is paying attention and slowing you down because you already recorded there to pay attention how you talk and can’t drop it. I have the same issue. If I talk with someone in relaxed circumstances it’s fine and flawless. If I record my voice leaving message - I’m grasping for words, slurring. Because I’m paying attention on how I talk rather than just letting it go. So far I didn’t find cure for that other than practice practice and try to shut off your brain at that time like you don’t think how you talk when you talk to friend.

      I’m very glad to hear that! I try to preach it in my videos that acting isn’t something that has to be made complicated. Anyone who instructs you and only confuses you more isn’t someone you want working with you. Only if everyone saw acting as being a logical process with simple steps & approaches. I’ve worked with truly phenomenal actors with backgrounds from TV, to film, and stage and can tell you that they don’t use half the things you hear people spouting. Anyways, I digress haha. Very glad it helped you out! Stick with it bro.

  • @ytchannel-howtooutgrowstutteri

    Great video! I agree with the video that slowing down speech could help outgrow stuttering. The positive effect is that speaking slower makes you feel more comfortable, whereas other people who speak slower have more time to double down on doubt to say a feared letter which means that 'confidence that you can move articulators during a speech block' helps in outgrowing stuttering

I became the same me.. Quite horrible I must confess.. • @TheActorsAcademy
      @TheActorsAcademy  Před 6 lety +11

      Are voice naturally has fluctuations, whether they be big or small. Now it is possible that your voice may be semi monotonic, but my question to you is how excited or happy are you when talking with customers. If you’re loving every minute of your job people will be able to hear it (again the inflection can be big or small, just depends on the person), so just because you sound monotonic in that situation doesn’t mean that’s how your voice is always like. Next time, trying imaging as if you are talking with your best friend and that will help, as well as making the customers feels more engaged with you.
      As the mumbling goes, it could be how your voice naturally is, but if your understandable that’s a good thing. There are celebrity actors that don’t talk very clearly all the time, but they’re understandable and that’s what’s important. But if you really want to get rid of it, try talking a bit slower. Sometimes walking around the house over enunciating everything when you’re by yourself may help when in actual conversations with others. Try it out for a month or 2 and see what you think. If it’s not working, than stop practicing it, but if it is, than keep using it.
      Hope this helps 👍🏼

    Todos somos extraños. Todos estamos luchando por aprender unos de otros. Si conoces a tantas personas a las que les resulta extraño tu acento, debes demostrarles cuánto te esfuerzas e intentas aprender a comunicarte con ellos.
    Entonces, no eres tú quien es extraño. Pero su actitud muestra una falta de aprecio y comprensión. Usted no es el que necesita cambiar, está trabajando duro y merece muchos elogios. Yo mismo estudio "Español" e "Inglés", y sé muy poco todavía, pero no me importan ni me preocupan comentarios como ese.
    Mi idioma es portugués-brasileño y sigo estudiando portugués, porque nadie lo sabe todo. Estudio cuatro idiomas. Y si un dia
    alguien viene a burlarse de mí, no hablo su idioma correctamente, le preguntaré si sabe todo tu idioma, cuántos idiomas hablas y si sabes algo del mío. Vaya, estoy luchando por aprender su idioma.

    So, it is not you who is strange. But their attitude shows a lack of appreciation and understanding. You are not the one who needs to change - you are working hard and deserve much praise. I study "Español" and "Inglés" myself, and I know very little yet, but I don't care or worry about comments like that.
    My Languages is Portuguese-Brazil, and I continue to study Portuguese, because, nobody knows everything. I study four languages. And if, one day,

The reason people could understand you more back home is because they'd gotten used to the sounds of words that blended together. So now just try to enunciate each word. They'll get it
