There isn't a "window technician" alive who doesn't know this.
@@cardiffpicker1 unfortunately the ones who worked for guiness northern counties maintenance team sadly didnt ,not one of them! i did it myself and sorted it in a few mins ..
@@johnny0468 they are not double glazing specialists then, even majority of DIY enthusiasts know majority of windows are adjustable.
@@cardiffpicker1 your completely right , these are 'jack
of all trades master of none ' but thankfully i saw this video post , so simple a fix too, its shocking they didnt know ....
What is it called , they haven’t installed that part on my windows.
Just amazing, thank you so much, just moved into a house with major draughts coming through the doors, sorted in just a couple of minutes. Rooms are now warmer, and less noise coming from outside too.
Thank you thank you 😁
How did you do it because I don't understand absolutely anything else that says opposite direction and other normal direction
Had a draught coming in through the front door of our new-build house which was bugging me. Then I came across this. Problem solved in 10 seconds! Many thanks for posting this
This video was certainly an eye opener. I never knew I could do this. Anyway I'm stood outside in the wind and rain at 23:00 doing exactly this. I so hope it works hahahaha. Great video. 👍

Brilliant tip. My front door has been draughty for years until I came across this video! Many thanks.
Brilliant 👍👍. Literally a 10s fix. Stopped the draught in my front door. Many thx👏👏👍👍
Well bugger me... never knew these were cams. Nice tip.
That is the exact reaction I had! Well bugger me! 😁
Wow, so helpful. Ive been trying to sort my french doors for ages, this has been most helpful. Thanks a lot!
I didn't know about winter and summer mode. Great knowledge.
Glad I watched your vid, I was going to adjust the hinges on my doors! Your way worked a treat.
Wow, thank you very much. Only trades people know these things. You gave this information for free.

Many thanks. I'm now going to help my friend remove the draughts from his windows and doors.
Mate, your a Star !!! Never knew you could do that !!!
Thank you so much for this video. I cannot wait to try this out. There is so much cold air that literally blows through the windows in some of my rooms. Praying this works.. will let you know how I get on 🙏👌👍
Update:
This worked a treat on some of the windows.. there were a couple of windows where the seals had gone too.. but yes all in all this worked great.. thank you so much 😊
I was so desperate i bought draught excluder, it's now in the bin. Thanks.
So that's how you do it! Thanks for this video!!👍
Nice simple insight bud. Cheers mate.
What about the hinge side? How do you adjust the gap on that side?
Hi I’ve tried adjusting the window but the bottom pin seems about 2 to 3mm of the catch when closing any tips thanks
How do you tighten the seal on the other side ie the hinge side? Please
I had no idea you could do that. Genius!
Can you do this on upstairs outward opening windows as I imagine you wouldn't be able to reach it from I side comfortably?
Top tip. There are cams on the hinge side too that can be adjusted.
That's genius ... Thankyou so much ....I didn't know about this !
I didn’t know this!! Thanks for sharing
I have strange problem with one of those 3 things that you have tight. Bottom one is not locking there is gap between last one and that metal thing where she should fit behinde? Can you help me. I will send images if you need thanks.
Well you learn something new every day.
Oh wow, what a useful video! Thanks
Great video, so helpful thank you
Multumesc mult pentru video-ul asta
My top right ones won't turn, but the bottom ones will. Any idea of how I can get them to move?
Brilliant 👏 have this draft coming in the kitchen window 👏
Wow thank you so much
I thought I am master in DIY
But just learn something new
Thanks
I only watched the video and the draft stoped that good cheers
I found my problem the white flat strip that goes around the inside of the window is buzzing from air getting past it, I’ll get some sealant tomorrow for it lol
Who on earth would down thumb this!? This is a great tip nobody tells you about! 71 people (as it stands) shame on you.
Amazing never knew that, thankyou so much 👍
This was helpfull, thanks my bro.
Great advice.... thankyou
Good trick my friend. Thanks for this
Great tip, thanks.
Excellent !!! Thank you
Wow. Thank you!
Thanks a ton for this!
Good information 👍
Awesome! Thank you.
great bit of info !
Some of you are adjusting doors but only on lock-in side on the hinge side there are ways of adjusting pressure on the seal .without seeing the hinge there are various ways to adjust the gasket pressure .nomally the hinges have the ability to rotate hinge pin to at least four positions.points of compass n s e west ie pressure on north pressure or south east or west puts pin to left or right .up and down with adjustment with Allen key but may vary. If your.door has dropped it has been incorrectly glazed another subject .
Thanks for this video, I will do that
Dear Brother,
thank you so much
very useful video i live in rented property and the windows were fitted very badly huge voids around the actual frames which made a kazoo sound when windy which would keep me awake so i tookmof the internal strip and filled with expanding which stopped most ofbtge noise but then the windiws had draughts and is not a great seal when closed i could put a credit card between the gap and it would slide about so this may just be the answer to a warmer draught free winter ..... so thankyou for video post 🙏
Where do these guys come from your demonstration was on a tilt and turn window which open inwards on espangulett mechanism which locks in eight positions around frame.what about adjusting the other five sealing points. Could have givendemonstration on a normal casementopen out window
Interesting tip but to me it didn’t look to make a lot of difference. But maybe it is only fractions after all. I didn’t know these things could be turned so that’s something I’ve learned.
Arent windows supposed to open outward?
Yaaay thanks sooo much!
Thank you will have a look , and give it a go
Tha ks for the tip, I've never seen upvc windows that open in before.
Other windows open to the outside?
What do u do if it's loose like this not on the opening side ( left like on this window) bit on the wall side ( right ride of the. Window) ?
idk
Thank you :)
Thank you! im on the opposite, need to switch to summer mode as were getting condensation on windows.
A dehumidifier will also help.
Please tell us how you put your net's on ( like what did you use )
The curtains? Those 2 white plastic hooks which hold the bar have adhesive on their back.
Brilliant!!
Omg thanks for sharing,👍👍👍
Well would you believe it ! Thanks mate 👍
Thanks a lot!!
Thanks, this is very helpful. How do you tighten the seal on the hinge side?
Yes that is exactly my problem too.
Every window I have is not tight on the inside/hinge side. I already adjusted the other side but hinge side is still drafty.
@@HaveAagutd The same kind of cams is on the hinge side as well.
if there is no Allen key ( imbus , hex ) hole then try to pull it out (with your fingers), then you can twist it
Mine won't move, on both doors.
thank you
Mine don’t spin
Excellent. Thank you.
handy...didnt know this
Thank you for sharing
What size hex key you have used? As I understand they can be in various sizes. Thanks in advance
4 mm
My problem is those pins are hitting the frame.
Awesome thanks
What can we do when it doesn't seal properly even in the tightest setting? On windy days I can hear the wind whistling through the balcony door. The rubber sealings look good but I can see some dust where the wind can blow through because there is about a half millimeter space left between the rubber and the door frame.
Never too old to learn something new. I’m 69 - nearly!! 😂😂😳
alul es felul is vannak zaropontok lehet hogy ott is kell allitani
Mine wont move either way.. stuck.. or dont some of the move?
Some don't move and the keep is adjustable, others on older windows cannot be adjusted at all
Can same method be used to raise and lower the hex bolt
The cylindrical Internal Hex shown at 0:30? It is moving a little bit up and down while rotating.
My blighters open outwards which means adjusting the upper floor is. pain!
👏👍🏽winter only
Are you the guy that was signing while cutting the power to a party ?
there are only 2 videos of this on CZcams and no mention anywhere . Is this trick being censored ?
Useful knowledge is usually...
Anyone have any ideas what to do if they don't have Allen key holes? MIne look exactly the same, has the roller cams, but don't have the Allen key slot. Just flat metal? Are they non adjustable then?
Mine too.....
I havent seen that. But possibly the whole cams spin? Have you tried to use a wrench?
Pull the cam out from the frame then twist,
Those types can be actually rotated with just hands. Pull it out towards you and rotate. Tools free :)
I though I found a solution but my window tongue is a solid circle.
Surely it’s because the seals have worn. Better to replace them first?
No. Try this first. Took me 10 seconds to adjust the 4 "screws" on my front door. No more draught!
did this and my window is now stuck and cant be opened 😭
Look after yr windows and doors use vasolene and W D forty on all moving components they are not maintenance free 2:24
Tip: many of them have third one on top
I must try this my doors and windows are draughty
❤❤❤❤❤
Don’t know if its just me but it looked the same on your video when you were pushing it
👍👍🙏🙏
NEED WINTER AND SUMMER MOD!!!
Set it up to work easily and you're done, on winter, and summer.
It won't get better if you stretch it out and it can't be closed.
It doesn't insulate better.
It is nonsens!
A Window fitter. ; )
Over do it and you will have a knackered drive gear in in a few months
