I've been using this pedal for months now for country, blues, rock, and hard rock and I'm very happy with it! I always combine OD and DIST for lead sounds, the trick is not to max out iether the OD or distortion when you combine them. the programability is awesome too
@LesPaul209 Hiya, Yes, but it depends on the pickups you’re using and the type of metal you’re playing. If you’re looking for 70’s and 80’s metal sounds then Nova Drive is the perfect pedal. With active pickups such as EMGs or Blackouts, Nova Drive can do modern metal as well (especially if you combine the two drives). If you need black-metal style gain and use fairly low-output pick-ups then I’d recommend other pedals. Best wishes, Joey @ TC
I love the Mesa Lonestar but I would love to have this setup and have it running thru a Mesa markV. The Amp Gizmo allows you to hook up via midi and freely switch between your presets of the 3 channels on the MarkV Boogie, awesome setup.
Sure thing: Soren is using a Yamaha guitar into a Mesa Lone Star 1x12 combo set on the clean channel. The overdrive and distortion tones you hear is all Nova Drive and the other effects come from G-Major 2. He's using a Ground Control Pro to control both the G-Major 2 and Nova Drive.
i think the delay is from the g major with a gcx ground control to control it, and i think as amps he uses two mesa boogie ether 5:25 or 5:50's in stereo but thats only from looking at the thing
@LesPaul209 this thing is awesome if you put it in front of a metal amp and boost your signal with it! get a mesa boogie or a 5150 and you have a nice tight metal tone : )
i have a parker fly classic with dimarzio custom wound and i'm looking for a metal sound...like line's 6 spider 'insane'...is this pedal a possible solution to what im looking for???
Did they go back to calling it a SG after Gibson got their panties all twisted in the 70's and caused a name change or is it still a SBG? by the way, does anyone know what the nut width on these is? and are they still using dimarzio pups?

Finally I have my Nova Drive.. Awesome pedal, it sounds amazing with my stratocaster into a JC120 and a Fender Pro Junior.
