  • This TyFlow simulation built in 3ds Max and rendered in real time in Nvidia Omniverse Create was created as an experimental simulation for shots on a larger 3D commercial. I wanted to simulate ground and soil breaking dynamically and showing rocks being excavated by a Cat construction site vehicle. I'm working on putting together a tutorial shortly. The sound design was produced in Ableton.

Great work! Did you use volume for digging the ground ?

Thanks, initially I was using VDB's and a volume grid, but then I switched to using a tyflow sim that converts an area of the mesh to voxels, those voxels are then subtracted where the shovel digs. I then tymesher that voxel sim. A seperate plane object then tyconforms to that previous tymesh sim. Im working on a tutorial which will explain the process, but hope that helps in the meantime
