1) For border questions go to www.Canada.ca
2) Maysie/Daysie is in retirement- she' just fine! My daughter is taking care of her for the summer.
3) Want to see our Alaska cabin? See links in description for videos.
4) Gas prices ran from $1.89- $2.41 a liter on this trip
5) Total cost of my gas was a little over $1,300 US
6) Airline tickets were running $1,200+
Thanks for watching!
It’s been a tough haul thru Covid here in Canada, still being effected by different strains. The gas prices are making us stick close to home this summer. Enjoy your summer stay safe with loved ones. We are enjoying our farm property here in Ontario 🇨🇦My gardens are looking wonderful and plants are flourishing. ❤️
Thanks for posting! 🤗
Thank you for the update on Maisie. My husband and I have been worried about her
You know I've been with you forever and I do love the new pup 💙 but in my eyes miss maysie daysie will allways be the star of the show .
if you stop near Edmonton I would love to meet you ! drive safe I live 10 mins from your exit on highway 43 you last Alberta highway before the Alaska I believe 😅 drive safe my friend the weather should be awesome
Great video, great safety info. After nearly 30 years driving a big rig. And a two million mile safety award, please let me add just two things . First it was great that you do a pre-trip on your truck and trailer every morning before you start out but you need to do safety checks a few times during the day . Maybe every 2-3 hrs when you stop for a break. Try this , every time you get out for coffee walk the long way around the back of your rig and do a quick visual inspection . Then do the same thing when you come back. Second , if you are really fighting the afternoon fatigue and your eyes are heavy ,safely pull over wherever you can and just lay back in your seat and close your eyes. Your body clock will wake you up in about 20 mins. Combine that with a safety break and you’ll be good to go. Don’t push it always err on the side of caution. Btw great dog.
Where is her husband
I stumbled upon your channel a while ago. I've "binged watch" all of them! What a road trip to home that was! What else, I admire about you Brooke, prayers! You don't find many who give thanks and thats what I love about your channel! ♥♥♥
thank you!
Hey, Brooke. My husband and I have driven to Alaska twice from North Carolina. Everything you said about what to bring along, how the roads were, and the scenery, was exactly as you said. We loved our travels through Canada, especially Yukon, and Alaska. We're ready to go back, but as you said, fuel prices are outrageous! So glad you and Moose had a safe journey. Blessings to you.
I'm in western NC. About how long does it take from NC to AK?
@@cedarrockcabin3633 It depends on how you drive' It is about 5000 miles from Henderson N C where i live We drove it in 9 days but we took our time and only drove during day light hours
@@garywoodlief1976 fair enough. I knew it was a loaded question but was wondering. Thank you!
sweet thanks!
Yeah, I'm in Nova Scotia and gas was already high for a while (over $1 a litre) but now it's hovering around $2.15 per litre. There are 3.89 litres in a US Gallon so we're dealing with gas prices just above $8 per US Gallon. On the plus side, you should find light traffic wherever you go! 🤔
Maysie is and has been a good companion I’m sure, but Moose seems to me to be just the right size for traveling and with him you get walk breaks too. Enjoyed this and again thanks for sharing.
Im glad to hear that Maisie is still around - I was afraid maybe she had gone to the Rainbow Bridge not having seen her in any recent videos - Moose is a treasure!
Aww I miss Maisie. Hope she doesn't feel left behind
That was an much less stressful trip than Dave took, running into the deer. Thanks for brining us along. You've shown me things I will neve get to see.
That trip has to be a beautiful drive for sure- Moose is just the cutest
thanks much!
Oh my goodness what a fabulous video!! I didn’t want it to end! I admire you so much! I would be terrified to drive that far by myself. Thank you for taking us along on your journey! Loved seeing all the wildlife. Keep up the great job, hope to see some great Alaskan adventures. Bless you!😘
I was going to post a comment, but you said exactly what I was going to say! DITTO!!! To everything! :D Great video! That was so fun!
Glad you enjoyed it!
I just love your confidence, integrity and strength of character, Brooke. Your trip and tips was so good to watch and listen to and of course Moose is such an adorable little dog and looks to be the best companion not discounting Maisy da wolf🥰 I hope she is doing ok. I admire your fearlessness so much. Enjoy being at home with your family until we see you in your next adventure🌻
thanks much!
I looking for a woman friend you
Oh, the smile and love exhibited by your husband, Dave, when you drove up. The love between the two of you is palpable. Best wishes!
Thank you for taking us along. It doesn't always have to be a build. Traveling vicariously is a wonderful thing.
I love that you were able to take moose. What a cute dog! I love corgis and her mix is beautiful. I'm glad you're able to take a buddy with you. ❤️❤️❤️
Maybe you can post some pictures on your communities thing of Alaska that would be really cool to see!
What a trip, I smiled all the way, great job, Brooke! All the essential tips for the long journey. Loved it!
thanks!
I'm so glad you arrived there safely and everything went smoothly for you. It's hard driving several days in a row like that. God bless and keep you sis 😊🙏💕
That was a wonderful documentary of your trip and I loved all the in between tips. Great tip about checking the trailer hitch and tires at every stop. I saved myself from a flat tire that would have been out in the middle of the Mojave Desert if I hadn't caught it in time at a previous stop. I too use the Surviveware first aid kits. I've got the big one.
awesome!
What a beautiful drive!! I’m glad you made it safe. Can’t wait to see more videos.
HI Brooke...Patricia from Northern California. Wow, what a fabulous video!
This vicarious experience was so great...I didn't want it to end. Loved the wildlife that you shared with us. Little Moose was so wide eyed looking at the bears and the buffalos. He must have thought they were some funny looking dogs! I heard him growl. LOL
Thank you for all the effort you put into filming the scenery along the way. I learned so much about preparation for a road trip like this.
It was a thrill to see this new video. I enjoy the videos that you and Dave put up. You two are the best! Enjoy your summer. ❤️
thanks much!
Thanks Brooke for taking us along from Michigan to Alaska, I live in lower Michigan North of Detroit, and what a journey that would be, Alaska is on my bucket list for sure! Beautiful scenery and animals
I stand in awe, Brooke. 7 months ago I drove my car and everything I owned, with my cat, from our beautiful state of Michigan to California to live. I spent one night in a hotel mid trip, the rest in my car. I love traveling but was glad it was over, too. Can't wait to see the new Alaska adventures now. Have fun, Moose!
wow!
Wow I can't believe you would leave Michigan for California! Good luck with that!
I’ve never gone through Michigan but the AlCan is definitely my favorite road trip! Sure has changed a ton through the years. Do you remember when it was mostly gravel and you had to plan your gas stops for business hours? It’s definitely more peaceful now but sometimes I miss the adventure…
What a wonderful trip! Thanks Brook for sharing. Your little moose is such a great travel companion...Hugs for maysie🤗 Love the wildlife along the way too!
Thanks so much!
What a wonderful video. I’m a travel alone senior (72) and I would love to do this, but sadly financially I can’t. I’m going to travel vicariously through you.❤️
This was so much fun! And your traveling companion is such a darling. Moose added so much to your adventure. Loved seeing the wildlife. Thank you for taking us along. Thanks, Moose!
Hi Brooke. ❤ the video , it was so nice seeing all the wild life 😍 and the beautiful views. You give such good advice for long Travling. Moose looked like he was a great Travling buddy. Glad yall made it there safe and I hope you got some much needed rest.
Thank you so much!
Great trip Brooke and all the advice and what to pack, I used to service my car and could change the wheel of any of the cars I’ve had but I don’t drive anymore, so seeing you on your trip is lovely with Moose and love when he runs from the water and tries to catch it it’s cute xxx
Hello how are you doing?
Oh the exuberance of a puppy ! Love the water 💦 Loving the trip with you Brooke and Moose 🥰
thanks!
I've THOUGHT to myself I'd like to drive from OKLAHOMA to Alaska....BUT now....I'm tired just watching YOU!!! THANK U FOR SHARING!!! I LOVE UR VIDEOS!!
This brought back so many memories for me! I had the opportunity to be on the Alaska highway 4 times when I was younger. Lived in Fairbanks 4 years. Alaska has always been a favorite of mine! I sure do miss it! I enjoyed this video so much! Have a blessed and safe time in Alaska! God Bless!
awesome!
Excellent all around information! Tires right now are super hard to find, and delaminating is a big issue for the trailers on big rigs making for a lot more caution room with the big rigs. Listerine (old fashioned) in a misting bottle, great way to keep mosquitos off you or a sitting area. Thank you for sharing the journey with us! Hope all is well.
What a great trip...long, but so scenic. All the wildlife..wow!! Glad u had a safe trip through our Canadian wilderness...and enjoyed Tim's! Moose loved his breakfast sandwich! Moosey growling at the bear and the Buffalo...adorbs!! Great advice for a safe journey. Cheers to you, Mois and Maisey!!
I would be so scared that Moosey would jump out the truck window and grab a piece of that buffalo!!!!
You're amazing girl....heck of a trip.
Wow, what an experience! The scenery and wildlife in Canada was fun to see.
Thank you so much for this video! I'm taking a month and a half next summer to drive the Alcan. Yours and Dave's videos are really informational and useful in my own preparation. I simply cannot wait for the scenery that I"ve seen from you both! And Moose is SO SWEET! You are lucky and blessed to have such a wonderful travel companion! Best wishes to you and your family.
Hello how are you doing?
I absolutely loved this video!! All the beautiful wildlife and landscape was such a treat! Glad you and Da Moose made it safely home.
Buy A Can or Two of Fix A-Flat in a can …. Best stuff ever made … Saved me many times …
Enjoyed, enjoyed, enjoyed!!!
I admire you honey child, if I were your age, I’m a senior, I would venture to do as you do. I have been to Alaska in a rented mobile home but I wasn’t alone. Loved every moment of it.
We flew from Spain to Chicago and from Chicago to Alaska in 2019!
I thank God for this experience. Thank you for your video. God bless you 🙏🙏🙏❤️❤️❤️
Brooke.....u forgot to give us the 1st bite of ur Tim Hortons breakfast sandwich. LOL.
Hello Brooke,
I was so happy to see the notification for your video.
Thank you so much for sharing all these important tips.
You had such wonderful sight seeing during your trip. It made me remember when I had my trip around Canada.
Stay safe and well.
awesome thanks!
I use sawdust toilets whenever the power goes out ( which is often). They are so clean and handy - the ultimate composting toilet. Seal it for a year and then put it around a tree in the woods!
Thanks for sharing your long drive, preparedness, safety tips& scenery! Those were some good-sized bears. I’m at Rocky Mountain House, Alberta & we have bears & cougars near town. Thankfully they don’t venture into town often! Many blessings to your family! 🤗❤️🇨🇦
Thank you for sharing your wonderful trip on the road home, Brooke. It's soooo very beautiful there in Alaska! 😍 I'm sure glad that you made it there safely. 😊 God bless you, and your family. 🙏 Sending y'all lots of love ❤ from Kentucky!
Hello Brooke I am glad that you safely made it to your destination, thanks for sharing it with us. You always make it seem so easy, but of course we know its not. With a vechile traveling that far you sure need to know what you are doing ahead of time as you mentioned. The video was very informative, besides the beautiful views. Keep up the good work.
After 45 years of driving truck for a living, and traveling thru all but 4 of the lower 48 states and Ontario and Quebec, I can really relate to this video, especially as a woman out there traveling. I love watching your videos on being out in the wild because I've been there and done that. At 68 years old, I've slowed a bit. But, that being said, there was nothing like standing on the roof of my house , 12 years ago at 11:30 at night shoveling 3' of lake effect snow and listening to the coyotes run up the creek bed behind my home out in the woods. And as far as a bucket? I've always carried a coffee can with kitty litter!
The really cool thing is every time you go through Alaska border. They say welcome home. What a great feeling.
Thank you Brooke. I’m always happy to hear about and see your adventures. Also, your pre travel tips are so helpful.👋😊
That was great! I’m 78 now and won’t be able to make this trip, but thanks for taking me along.
I looking for a woman friend you
I love this and absolutely love the idea of making a similar trip one day. I've made the solo trip from Memphis to LA (2100 miles in three days on I-40) when I was in the Marines. I pulled a trailer along the way. But it was not anything like the beautiful trip you just took. Keep up sharing all these magnificent trips and ideas with us all.
A friend and I (women) drove from western MA to Moose Pass, AK (1987) - the adventure of a. lifetime! A lot of the Alaska Highway was unpaved at the time. Yup, windshield got cracked by a rock on the first day. Preparation was the key to enjoying the trip.
Such a great video! I’ve done long road trips pulling a trailer where the temps vary by wild numbers in a 24 hour period. Learned the hard way to have multiple ways to inflate my tires. I bought a slime 12v on my last trip because I didn’t charge my ryobi battery and didn’t bring my jackery. Luckily I was close to help. Loved this video!!!! Can’t wait to see your Alaska adventures!!! ❤️🙏
Hello how are you doing?
Great video!! My friend & her husband currently live in Ohio & they are moving to Alaska. I sent this video to them for some tips & advice. They are also traveling with 2 doggies. That’s a long trip. Glad you all made it safe.
awesome!
I've made quite a few really long trips. One thing I've discovered is that if you mouth is moving, your eyes are open. Things I do, snack! Chips are my favorite but nuts are also good or whatever. Small things that take time to eat. The other thing I do is sing. Put some good tunes in and sing at the top of your lungs. The last idea I came up with is a tooth brush. I don't bother with toothpaste. Just dry brush. It is great for your teeth and gums, its calorie free and most of all it WORKS!
that's awesome! i found that podcasts kept my mind engaged and me awake
You are one brave lady driving that far on your own. 👍🏻👏🏻👏🏻🤗♥️
Hello how are you doing?
Brooke, always stay safe on your trips and camping, sounds like your prepared on gears , thanks for sharing your videos
What an amazing and fun journey! Thanks for taking us along:)
I miss Maisy Girl, we saw her in so many videos and I came to look forward to seeing her sweetness. I find it hard being and old girl myself to see her put out to pasture and not to ever see her again, It's like she's passed and I can't enjoy watching anymore knowing I won't see her at all. I know I don't want to be put out to pasture and I know she's getting older but the joy when she was out camping with you can't be replaced in her heart, so hopefully on some of the easier adventures we will still see her.
Loved it!!!!
Wow, I loved that! Thanks for taking us along, and all the great tips! I’m 3,800 miles from Alaska. It would be a monumental trip!
How wonderful! Thanks for bringing us all along and showing what all's needed and what to expect. Great trip!
Thanks for taking us along !!!
Love love love this one!
What a trip. God Bless y’all. Can’t wait to see more videos from you and Dave
I found your channel a few months, and have learned so much, little bits and pieces of Info. I have started a notebook for just tricks and tips for building and ideas. As much as I have liked all of those, I am really appreciative of how you are thankful, and how open you are with your prayers, without being overly religious. People need to see that there is so much more to Faith, than fancy clothes sitting in church , so thank you!!!
awesome thanks!
Love love this video!!❤️
Amazing! Thank You for sharing the trip ♥️
So enjoy this trip with you feel like I really experienced the whole thing. Thank you so much girlie!
Enjoyed the ride along, thanks Brooke for taking us along. Love Alaska!!
what an amazing video. thanks Brooke.
I drove from Tupelo, Mississippi to Anchorage in 2015. I drove an old truck & sold it there too. Crossed up into Canada through N. Dakota. Days later, long story short, a sign (one of the many) got turned the wrong way and later realised I was driving Rt. #4 into upper Yukon. I was alone and I can tell you it was a once-in-a-lifetime event! The majestic beauty was something I could not describe. I didn't think I would ever make it home again but did enjoy every moment as if it were my last. That 400 mile road became a dirt/mud road with absolutely never a gas station or a human to be found. I almost got stuck in the wet mud several times. My "MILEPOST" was the one and only 'supply' I had to use and use it I did. Pretty funny when I remember back to finding a road that was supposed to be the way to Whitehorse but was just an overgrown path with no way to get a vehicle or even a bicycle through. I prayed very hard.
I could talk for hours but I just want to tell anyone considering this trip, be very careful and don't go it alone if you don't have to. Not unless you are very familiar with it all. Your cell phone won't have connection often and you never can depend on everything going as it should. It is rain forest and the rock slides and land slides happen often. You can never be prepared for what all you might encounter. So, be prepared to not have what you didn't know to bring. It will be different for everyone. Expect the unexpected. I felt the full spectrum from terror to absolute bliss.
One more thing: Many elderly couples driving in RVs on the AK Hwy had turned over and were awaiting help to right their too tall vehicles. Low is the way to go. God be with you all. :)
Thank you for all the great tips and taking us on that beautiful drive. Enjoy your summer in Alaska

Hello how are you doing?
Hello how are you doing?
That was a great trip! Nicely interspersed with tips and pointers….loved it! You mentioned being tired at one point. Whenever I get that way on a road trip, a 10 minute power nap in a rest area always works for me! Thanks for sharing! Love your truck camper!
yes power naps!
Outstanding video. I’m so inspired!
Great adventure! Great, helpful info!
