Excellent comparison. I've smoked for 5+ years with the Masterbuilt 30" and typically get about 30 minutes/chip charge at 250-275 degrees. But..... Fyi purchased the MB cold smoke box recently, used it 2X for hot smoking ribs/Boston butt (275), chicken breasts (250). One charge of chips with the setup yields 3-4 hours+ of good smoke. What I discovered is the ON control to light the smoke chamber can be turned off when the smoke begins because the chips will spontaneously burn until they're consumed. It's a game changer for this quality unit. .02

Can you use pellets instead of wood chips in this unit?
