+A for Anyone Such a strange voice... He is perfect for backing vocals, but it's hard to find tracks where his voice would fix well as the main one (except for "My Ashes" live and Fadeway - XMII)!
Dario Ciangola i was thinking the same. He has some albums which he did the lead vocals but it's much more enjoyable to listen his backing vocals with songs like this. Also he is amazing in My Ashes and Way Out Of Here too. (Anesthetize versions)
+Timothy Cozby Whatever, they don't make a new album since fucking 2003. That was 13 years ago, who have 13 years already get laid, but King Crimson never made a new album in this time. It's a waste of talent.
Jaqueline Gillis francine they made The Incident in 2009 and rumored by SW that it would be his last with this incredible lineup. Hopeful that there is more to come from PT!
Through sheer luck I just discovered Porcupine Tree. I have been a Pink Floyd fan for many years and its quite obvious that PT was heavily influence by PF. Lazarus is one of my favorite songs.
I am in the same boat as you. I've newly discovered Porcupine Tree. Definitely reminds me of Floyd. If you haven't yet, check out Steven's new solo album Hand Cannot Erase.
***** Thank You Sir.. Discovering PT was a revelation. Now continuing with Steve Wilson. Wish I had the chance to see PT live. Hopefully they will play together again!
Colin edwin, eyes closed, calmly swaying his head, feeling the music and the moment with that smile on his face...pure emotion! Lazarus has such an amazing flow to it!
They killed it, perfect. But that's nothing new. Saw them on the Incident tour a couple years back and everything was perfect. With the venue they were playing (which had a smaller stage), Gavin's drumkit was up further towards the audience and to the side, caddy-corner with the band and audience. This allowed me to see everything he was doing. Dude is a great drummer.
Discovered this band only recently. Gave me excitement as nothing musically these days has much value. Didn't surprise me to learn they're an older band.
@@tarunheda6602 It's strange, but as I read these comments I remember when they were on heavy rotation for me. Covid, getting older, don't know. Sure doesn't seem like 6 years ago, but only half that.
I lost my first dog back in 2012. She was 3 and a half years old and had kidney failure during the 1st weekend of June and she died on Monday. She was fine on Friday and started to get really bad on Saturday. By Sunday afternoon I knew she wasn't gonna make it because she looked so deteriorated, it breaks my heart every time I picture that in my mind. So, as I knew she'd probably be gone in a few days, I stood by her side listening to this song and the whole "My David, don't you worry" part hit me real hard, because it sort of was my farewell to my baby girl. It's been 8, almost 9 years and I can't help but tear up every time I hear the "Come to us, Lazarus, it's time for you to go" line. This song can be really emotional with the proper meaning each person gives to it.
I saw Steven Wilson last year on the To the Bone tour and in their 3 hour set they played a few PT songs. This one being my favorite I damn near teared up when I heard it live. Just a beautiful song.
As the cheerless towns pass my window I can see a washed out moon through the fog And then a voice inside my head breaks the analog And says: "Follow me down to the valley below You know Moonlight is bleeding from out of your soul" I survived against the will of my twisted folk But in the deafness of my world the silence broke And said: "Follow me down to the valley below You know Moonlight is bleeding from out of your soul" "My David, don't you worry This cold world is not for you So rest your head upon me I have strength to carry you" Ghosts of the twenties rising Golden summers just holding you "Follow me down to the valley below You know Moonlight is bleeding from out of your soul" Come to us, Lazarus It's time for you to go"
I think I like this more than the album version. Then I listen to the album version and change my mind. Then I re-listen to this version and change my mind again
Glad I got to see them live, in 2006, during the Deadwing tour. Wish I had known their catalog like I do now...and wish I had known they wouldn't make it into the next decade 😪
Delicious as always! RIP PT and a HUGE congrats to a dude who worked his ass off to get to where he is today by going solo. He is underrated and unfortunately most people don't know about him and his work with some of the best musicians in this world. I'm glad my choice to watch a simple Pink Floyd video 10 years ago introduced me to these guys! Well done my hero, Mr. Steven Wilson. Well done. Meeting you in Toronto in 2013 was the best night of my life. Your music has helped me get through a lot of tough times and still does, so thank you. Also thanks for posting one of their many masterpieces 😀

Sure, we can dislike the way he choose to mix this live show, but it's an aesthetic choice he made and I think it works for most of the songs including this one (contrary of Open Car for example which really sounds too much "live show" at my taste in this DVD). Despite that, I agree I prefer the sound on "Anesthetize" or "Get all you deserve"
Still glad i can still have some good music to listen to in this era where people called themselves musicians [DJ] when actually its just bullshit techonlogy.
i really like John Wesley's backing vocals.

"Half Light"
I really like you.

yeah!
confirmed
Love this song and this band. Gavin Harrison, now of KING CRIMSON, is an unbelievable drummer.

Timothy Cozby ...big true
I was so lucky to catch Steven's pick a year ago around this time. I truly cherish every piece of music he's given us
JEALOUS! Thanks to corona who knows when I'll get to see him live :/
I listened to this song as I watched my uncle David pass away from cancer. It was so fitting.
Jesus Christ. I saw your comment first, and watched my father die from cancer. listened to this on the way home after. non gay hugs brother.

You really have to listen to Steven Wilsons new solo record Hand Cannot Erase. You'll probably love it.
Alex G Will do. Thanks for the reference.
I am in the same boat as you. I've newly discovered Porcupine Tree. Definitely reminds me of Floyd. If you haven't yet, check out Steven's new solo album Hand Cannot Erase.
lol wow, I didn't even read previous comments before posting. Someone already mentioned this lol

pineapplepeanuts he is exceptional!!
PLEASE SW, we need the return of PT :'(
Porcupine tree is no more, get over it. At last, SW is in a more creative stage in his life!
When I saw Steven Wilson a year ago they played a fair amount of PT songs, including this one. So don't fret. :D

A truly great band show’s itself by playing immaculately live. This is proof , such a perfectly performed song.
Beautiful guitar Steven has :)
Looks like a jade PRS custom 24.
citrano2012 It is!
+citrano2012 it is 22, there was a video steven talking on it.
This song is the most wonderful thing I ever heard. I miss PT so much.
They are back
Puedo escucharla una y mil veces sin cansarme. Gran banda!! Y Steven un genio indiscutible!!
This song is so beautiful in every aspect that sometimes it makes me cry from happiness.
I can never play this one in public...too many tears lol
Why? it's not really a sad song...
Victor Alm it's about a mother talking to her dead child. how is it not sad?

The guitar interlude right before the final chorus is gorgeous in this version
One of the few songs on this planet are are impossible to hate
GOD!!!! Mr. Wilson. the most underrated band ever. See you in India some day.
Shishank Dahiya So,did you see them in NH7?
As the cheerless towns pass my window
I can see a washed out moon through the fog
And then a voice inside my head breaks the analog
And says:
"Follow me down to the valley below

Moonlight is bleeding from out of your soul"

"My David, don't you worry

So rest your head upon me
I have strength to carry you"

Golden summers just holding you
"Follow me down to the valley below

Come to us, Lazarus
It's time for you to go"

When you’re so great that live is just as good as the album version.
Goose bumps every time I listen to this song!! I wish that I could have played the lead guitar on this one! Right in my wheel house.
Such a beautiful track. This track made me to love them!
lyrically and musically very touchy
Everytime i hear this song, my love for ths song goes to a new level...
Steven... ❤
That was a very nice song. It's easy to listen to over and over.
I like how Steven was busy with the solo and John just took over with the soft "ghost of the 20s" part for him, was beautiful.
Wesley's harmonies are unbelievable...
Oh, the nostalgia! I use to listen to this album everyday throughout my teen years. It use to make me feel so much at peace.
Great song from an equally great band. I really hope we get to see and hear them again.
It's unbelievable how perfect steven is.
Great track from my favorite band. Love them.

I love that this has a different flavour to it, and that solo is just icing on the cake. This is how you write a *perfect* song
this song is a magic!! i want to hear this song 10000 time more!
Marterpiece! What a voice!
one of the best think that I have heard
He sounds like david gilmour in this song. And that's just beautiful.
Holy shit wow, that was well played. I love Porcupine Tree
moonlight is bleeding...from out of your soul..
The guitar solo is simple yet amazing
BEAUTIFUL
Loved this song.
i wish that someday steven writes a happy song
Trains
+Kaizokuō 1001 trains is heartbreaking to me. "I'm dying of love, it's ok." line says it all.
All the Rest Will Flow and Perfect Life?
perfect life captures such a profound sense of loss
Permanating... His new song... Is a fun song
Vraiment tres bonne mélodie... Steve Wilson.... Great !
This is such a beautiful song...It’s sad and so stupid to see good bands like PT breaking up due to some egoistic clashes. Ultimately, it’s our loss.
Solo is AMAZING
Everyone looks so young here.. miss PT so much!!
Oldie but absolutley a magic goldie 👌
amazing band...
In the footsteps of Pink floyd and King Crimson...
Awesome!
lovely albumn
Thanks dude. Great quality for a great song. :D
Always reminds me of ghosts I'll have to face after my loved ones go away.
I miss them so much
One of Steve Wilson's best songs!
This version is better than the studio one
caught up with them a year ago, was blown away by " Shallow ", hope to cover it.
A masterpiece
That chorus💯💯
buenos ....sonido refrescante!
This song is just "beautiful"
A song for the soul!
Four minutes of transcendent beauty.
Great
