Farming Simulator 2017 Timelapse #26: Harvest Time!

- In today's FS17 time lapse video, which is set in Goldcrest Valley-
It's harvest time, and we have a lot more land to harvest now! We're going to be doing a large corn silage next, so that means that as we harvest all our fields we've got to cultivate them so that they're all ready for the corn to be planted. We won't actually start the planting today, we're hoping to earn some money so that we can lease some extra planters. Then we can move through all the fields with reasonable efficiency. We can get them prepared today, as well as getting all our baling done!

Yeah it really grows slow
For your silage harvest you could set courseplay up for some of your bigger fields so you do not need to manually drive trailers of chaff to the bga.

on the bright side, when you do silage it'll be a win win.. you'll earn money and you'll get back digestate like slurry, so what you sell about a 3rd roughly is made into digestate I'm currently doing this because I don't want to keep buying fertiliser. anyhow, great job with the time laps as always :) 🖒

I think, you should do crop rotation, but instead 3 blocks of crops make 4 of them. 1 will be allways for corn and then 3 other you would keep in standart rotation, just as til now :-)
That should ensure you enough corn for 400-500 pigs (every 2nd year you woud have half of the fields covered with corn)
get a bigger cultivator and seeder first i reckon before another header(: great vids mate! top effort!!

you can use straw from barley/wheat to make sillage. its a special header from fourage harvester
You get a higher yield from corn silage, also it's a different type of silage in real life, not quite as nutritious as the corn silage
10:30 a new combine would be a waste, you are still using 6m seeders, get both Horsches 1st then figure where the weakest link in the chain is. From a logistic point, an extra harvester would strain you, the player, cause now you have to follow 2 workers around to collect the crop.

I know this is a old video but you can always sell your straw at the bio gas then that way you get money and slurry and the the prices is better at the bio gas than the barn

Can you mix corn chaff with grass to make silage? If no, why? I know the game allows it. But, how is it done realistically?
Yes, I've seen it done for corn chaff and whole crop chaff as well, generally that's put on the bottom part of the clamp and the grass silage over the top. The grass silage is heavier and helps to squash more air out of the other silage, thus giving a better overall clamp. Not everyone likes to mix them together though as the nutritional values of the two silages are different and if they're mixed it's harder to accurately feed your cows.

Back off bro,they take lots of time to make he has a sick wife and 2 kids around plus the two other series editing sucks up time also trust me I know from experince I dont really do mine anymore becuase I live on a 9,000 acker farm in america with close to 2500 cows and between school I dont have the Time Frith is in the same boat with his channel He is doing his best he can
