      Maintaining it, compared to other bikes, or because it had the chrome tank? I have a chrome (the Mk 2 paint job) too.

      @@RichardParsons65 the crome not the bike's or the manufacturer's fault rain humidity it gets specks of rusts,, and people touching it and leaving prints,, it's a continental gt btw

      Conti GT in chrome is my dream bike. Is it really that hard to mantain the tank? Is it easy to rust? I live near the beach

      @@MrWebon I was exaggerating a bit, where I live, it rains alot plus humidity so it's a bit more work,,, it's not that bad

    ive done same... sold my nc700x and have bought the barcelona blue model with mag wheels....the Hondas was a good bike.. but i started to feel like i was on a mx bike..and the rear saddle was a bit high for the missus...the nc typical honda..well made but lacking bitta character..i also missed revving an engine out a bit.. i actually like the RE Hunter... but me and her are a bit chunky.. ive gone for the 650 interceptor we dont go over 70mph now i dont enjoy the noise from wind etc.. i did almost get same as yours.. but the mag wheels are peace of mind i hate being stuck in the gutter with a puncture...weekend is too short for that... i suggest a tin of tyre weld in those panniers for emergency..its got me home before when i had a harley...

    Nice bike good deal in the UK
    I just got a 2022 with 2300 miles
    3999 USA $ and it’s got a screen rack engine bars oil temp gauge new front tire Iplan on matching the battle ax rear and going a little wider
    All in all a good deal and here I have to pay a 7% sales tax
    I’ve only taken it around the block a few times and adjusted the brake pedal as it was way too low for my taste
    I have been off bikes for 3 years and lost count on how many I’ve owned
    in my 60 years of riding I started on a two stroke in Wales and am now in Florida
    All of he best be safe and enjoy
    Regards J
    So I took another course just to refresh

    I have the same Ventura Blue Interceptor. I added the exact knee pads to my tank so, yes, they are aftermarket. Great all around bike. Had a Classic 500 for 11 years also, but sold it and added a Classic 350 reborn. Couldn't be happier with both bikes.

      I have the same Ventura blue interceptor without tank pads. How do you like the pads? Any criticism of them? Or are they good? 😊

    • @maintenanceman3024
      @maintenanceman3024 Před 3 měsíci +1

      @@CanadaSims I really like the pads. No issues. Look good. Hard part is to align them the same on both sides. My OCD would not allow them to be different. You get one chance with the adhesive. If you get it wrong, you will have to apply some 3M spray adhesive or something equivalent so you get a nice even application. Ask me how I know.

      hi
      its a comparison episode il be filming and uploading in the next 4 weeks all being well. im going to be interested to see if the extra money required to buy the triumph is a justified expense if your just looking for a good retro to spend time on and enjoy owning.

    Lovely bike. I removed the fly screen pretty quickly as it seems to have the opposite effect to that intended, i.e. it blasted air at me at head height. Also fitted a Tec stinger 2-into 1 exhaust, a DNA air filter, adjustable levers (the clutch level broke) and bar-end mirrors. There's a lot one can do to customise, but that's it for me.

    • @theartisanrider472
      @theartisanrider472  Před 3 měsíci

      definitely thinking about a more throaty exhaust, and the bar ends. i may look at some second-hand standard exhaust and look to remove the baffles, no idea yet how easy that is, but there seem to be plenty of secondhand ones cheap on ebay to play with.

    Very measured review; thanks for sharing. Looks like a good value bike provided the finish & build quality hold up. As an aside, what is your camera and recording set up on your helmet & handle bars?

    • @theartisanrider472
      @theartisanrider472  Před 2 měsíci

      hi nigel
      i use a mix of cameras, i use a first model osmo action camera on the handlebars facing me, i also use that sometime on a gorilla pod to quickly attach to stuff on the side of roads to get some passing shots. i use a osmo action 3 on the helmet, mainly because of the quick release mount system, which is really convenient . i also have a gopro hero 8 black but ive slowly stopped using that.All my walk round stuff i use the osmo pocket 3 with the dji mic 2 or the DJI mic 1 with the two mics when talking to people. i tend to put one of those mics on my back attached to my belt to get engine sound when doing bike review, then just sync that at editing time. i may do an how do i video later in the year, so people can see my process.
      regards
      paul

      Thank you for explaining that , Paul. As yet, I haven’t got in to recoding ride outs but would like to this summer (assuming we have the odd day!). I don’t want to go top end stuff but looking forward to your later review on the same subject.

    Hitchcocks do an adjustable side stand (I’ve just bought one for my Continental GT). It’s not cheap but it solves the leaning too far problem which was also an issue on the 500 Bullet I owned a few years ago.
