Not sure about the eschatology understanding of Luther... Didn't Luther say If the end of the world comes tomorrow I would plant an appletree ? Thanks for thoses free lectures btw :D
The head of the Eastern Orthodox in Constantinople is appropriately titled Patriarch and not "metropolitan". Metropolitans, in the Greek tradition, are bishops who rank higher than regular bishops and lower than archbishops, who in turn are lower than patriarchs. Constantinople is the highest see in honor in the Orthodox world, followed by Alexandria, Antioch, and Jerusalem. Eventually several others were added as well, including Moscow. Each national Church is autocephalous, being headed by either a patriarch or an archbishop (i.e. of Athens in modern Greece, for example). Rome was originally the highest see in honor but fell into heresy after 1054 and ceased to be in communion with the rest of the Church.
Keep listening don't stop you need the info from these lectures
I’d just like to say that the Rockford Files is in fact still great.
I hereby fully endorse reading the Asterix & Obelix comics.
Great point on the two Eck's, don't confuse them as I know that I have! The Eck at the debate is not the same Eck at Worms.
