Together with the High End production house "The Marmalade" we built our own real life optical illusion using forced perspective and different layers of time. And, we are going to take you through the production from concept to post.
Also, we show you how you can use motion control with relative affordable gear in your projects… for example to create surprisingly realistic miniatures with the help of programable sliders.

Wow! This episodes screams quality, packed with rich information about how professionals work, and how we can achieve them. I can't believe you don't have 5 million subscribers already, this is just insane! And I would imagine the recent jibone from elderkrone would also be a useful tool, having able to control up and down motion of the camera, creating an even richer image. But I just want to say a massive thank you to people like you who puts out free content as epic as this, hopefully your channel will be exploding in popularity soon!

Do you really want him to have five million subscribers though? Look at the super 'popular' channels, they're loaded with low effort rubbish and barely concealed product placement in an effort to make as much money as possible and get as many episodes as they can out of the door. I won't name names but they're pretty easy to find and incredibly obnoxious for the most part.
I would rather he makes videos as he does, slowly and with great care and as a compliment to working professionally on other things without the screaming noise of needing to be popular online.
@@iNerdier I see what you mean… I don't blame them to much, we all have to eat, pay rent, and built something for our families… we too will have to look into being profitable if we want to keep up this level production value and release more than two episodes a year. We will see… maybe there will be enough who consider a channel membership

While I don't mind CG if used correctly, I think most people rely on it way too much, especially when it comes to bigger movies.

The Marmalade was really impressed with it considering age and price… the said they would prefer it to modern ultra wide glass they used. Something for your FB group? I feel like the most successful channels and videos for film making are all staying in this CZcams influencer bubble, where not the craft, but the creator and the lifestyle that they present, is in focus. The problem is, that the only way to make halve decent bucks is to make a ton of views and affiliate earnings... so I don't blame anybody when they go for clickbait and reviews. We hope that we win more love that views, and we can translate that into a strong community at some point.... in the end, we all have to feed our kids and pay our rent. This is why I love CZcams. Such a great job done here. Production quality is top notch and super interesting. I like how it’s like yeahC this is a million dollar machine for a few and then you show way that almost anybody can do something low budget and have it look really cool.
Glad you liked it Jesse... we always try to have something for everybody. Always a gold rule: If you don't have the gear, you need a concept that fits what you got.
The Marmalade is top of their game. Kind of feel like using after effect with that machine is like serving a Gordon Ramsay dish on a paper plate.
Marmalade Rocks... and uses Flame... for 10K pa. So, not me, results with AE are still very good.

Our Partner The Marmalade has a stop motion unit and several FX people coming from traditional animation. I have something in my head for years… live size stop motion combined with motion control. This is I think the fourth time I am watching this presentation. I like that despite the main attraction being the ultra expensive robot, you teach the concepts of filming in passes and using miniatures to circumvent the need for cgi quite well! The plane miniature scene blew my mind!
I really wonder how it is like to work in a studio environment like that... It looks like a dream to me!

I am all for it Cheeken... yeah, not everybody has access to robots (that includes us most of the time), so what would be the use of that besides the showcase? Always trying to put something out that (at least at some level) is helpful for a broader audience.
