They don’t act like ghosts because they’re monsters, not ghosts (in the first game at least)

The ghosts do have their own AI.
Blinky- chases you around constantly
Inky- mirrors blinky to trap you
Pinky- chases in the player's general direction
Clyde- too unpredictable, random directions
Pinky actually chases the spot in front of you, so tries to get in front of you while Blinky is usually chasing you from the other direction, a scenario depicted in this video quite often actually, but not with Pinky for some reason
oh and Clyd chases you but within 8 tiles of you he goes to his designated corner of the map instead in the lower left side
Inky is too unpredictable, because where he goes not just depends on Blinky’s location, but also Pac-Man’s location
Clyde has the same chase target tile as blinky, but if he gets near 7 tiles or less then he will go away, however, there are some parts in the maze where clyde is forced to go kill you
Clyde isn't random
They chase pac-man but run away if they get close
Blinky: go directly to pacman
Pinky: go four tiles in front of pacman(if facing up, four tiles up and to the left)
Inky: draw straight line from blinky to pinky’s location target tile, then rotate that line(, pivot from pinky’s target,) 180 degrees, this is Inkys target.
Clide: act like blinky, but when within 8 tiles from pacman, go to bottom left corner.
The targets I just stated are when the ghost are in chase mode, this is for most of the game. Sometimes they enter scatter mode, this means they each go to their designated corner of the map, this mode is very short, usually 3 to 8 seconds. The final mode is scared mode,(power pellet,) in this mode, they don’t have a target. When ghosts aim for there targets, they draw a line from each of their direction options to their target, witchever(I know that’s misspelled) line is shortest, they pick that direction. Ghost can and will only turn 180 when they change modes.
Inky is smart automatically, trapping you at the last second.
No, blinky and inky work together. The ai of blinky kinda depends where inky is, they both trap you.

Opposite actually. Blinky (red) always targets pacman directly and inky (blue) targets the position that is basically the reflection of blinky’s position relative to pacman. The other two work independently.

At this point, Akabei, Micky, Aosuke and Guzuta trained themselves to be more smarter than ever.

4:Power pellets are the Ghosts' weakness so impossible.
5:Don't go to that part.
6: Run away when seeing that button.
7:Pac-Man is too strong for a ghost to possess.

I guess most of these traps wouldn't work on a Player's POV (we could see those traps being set up in real time), But i agree with the first and fourth one, fifth one could be escaped from if the ghosts casually go the wrong way and stay together for some reason, Pacman was never possessed by a ghost in-canon as far i know so technically this never happens and would be cheating anyways, and on the last kill, assuming that every other pellet has already been eaten it'd mean that Pacman already won the game the moment that the pellet-bait disappears, meaning the 8th "kill" actually gets Pac-man to win

Uh, the ghosts aren't blindly randomly wandering about.
Clyde/Orange is the only one that's the dumb one, he'll close in on Pac Man, then run away when Pac-Man gets close.
Pinky will try to cut Pac-Man off.
Red will follow you relentlessly.
And Blue will try to corner you!
They're all acting according to their personalities.
Red is blinky
Blue is inky
Pinky always tries to get in front of you.
Reddy always chases you.
Bluey always tries to do the same as red, but in the opposite side of the map, so if Red is behind you, they will try to get in front of you.
