    This song really gives you that sense that, this isn't just the final boss of Cold Steel...it's the final boss of the entire Legend of Heroes saga up to this point, from the first minute of Sky's First Chapter, to this grandeur battle, this song encompasses the ENTIRE FUCKING SERIES AND IT'S AMAZING!!! I got really disappointed with this final sequence and the game in general. The final battle did not feel like anything special and before that we barely get to see any meaningful cutscene between Gilliath and everyone else.
    I mean, he was one of the main villains of the entire kiseki series and we just get rid of him like any other boss and then we fight a pretty trivial final boss battle and that's it. We don't even get to see the impact we did when defeating Ishmelga and ending the curse. You'd think we'd have blown up the skies of the entire continent after such a feat but the cutscenes after that are also pretty trivial and I didn't feel like I accomplished something important.
    It felt very rushed and like the devs were struggling to make 4 whole games to a single saga that could have been condensed in fewer, more meaninful titles.
    The final battle against McBurn was the real final boss to me, it was just AWESOME from beginning to end.
    Still, there were several questions still unanswered and I'm curious to continue the saga in Hajimari and especially Kuro that is looking awesome.

    • @FelipeDermann
      @FelipeDermann Před 3 lety +8

      @@mking199 Cool that you liked it bro, I didn't. You just slay another boss monster with an overly heroic music in the background and afterwards we don't even see Erebonia getting free from the curse. Everyone just appears on that rocky scenery of the castle and we get even more dead characters to come back to life (because nobody can die in this saga even though there is a huge war happening) and thats it.
      After that we see the aftermath of the war, the marriage and more ouroboros reveals and that is cool but the erebonia saga itself ended in a very meh and clearly rushed manner imo.
      CS1 and 2 were much more well structured . CS2 ending in the Infernal Castle was absolutely badass and fighting Loa Erebonius and discovering Valimar was cool for the first game.

      @@FelipeDermann The Erebonia saga ends in Hajimari, no in Cold Steel IV. I agree with you about CS IV. McBurn fight is still the best. The Final boss in HnK is 100x better that Osborne, and a lot more meaningful.

    • @vytmork
      @vytmork Před 3 lety +8

      @@FelipeDermann There's a reason why Hajimari was given to us after this game, to wrap up the loose ends and set the foundations for the next arc. If you think about it, none of the "final" games in every arc of Trails ever had a proper conclusion that left you with "Yep, this is it, I understand it all". Sky SC ended on a huge bang, but it didn't give a good conclusion to a lot of the characters and it ended up being kind of pointless in the end because Ouroboros still got the Sept-Terrion, which is why we got Sky the Third, same way as we got Hajimari now. Azure solved the current conflict with KeA and Crois', but the rest was still not done, as it took 5 more games to give Crossbell a fitting end.
      As for how there was no meaningful cutscene between Osborne and Class VII, there was kind of no need for it. It took 4 games for Class VII to finally stand on the same ground as Osborne, and by the end of that journey, they understood all they needed to know, there were no revelations left to be done, only a fight. We encounter Osborne quite often throughout the 4 games in comparison to other villains, and we see his motivations on display time and time again. He's been there all the time and we've always known of him, in comparison to villains where they get revealed toward the end, needing to have a conversation with them when you finally confront them at the very end. This is probably one of the most unique parts of Osborne as the 'antagonist', he's a threat that loomed over you for all these games, not in the background, but you've always known of him, and only at the end, once you've understood everything, you get to finally take him down.
      That's not to say I don't have my problems with this game. It definitely felt like it could've been cut down a little bit. I like a long finale, but 140+ hours is a bit much even for me, especially when there's quite a few unnecessary moments. I will also agree that I don't like the whole Crow and Millium getting a pass with them just being allowed to live like that.. Well, actually, with Millium, it makes more sense, since she was 'artificial' to begin with, so she was able to get a new body. However, as much as I like Crow, it felt a bit dumb and far-fetched to let him live.
      TL;DR I have problems with the game, but I like the final sequence.

    • @FelipeDermann
      @FelipeDermann Před 3 lety +1

      @@vytmork An understandable opinion but I disagree in a few points.
      Osborne was always the big villain of the entire franchise since his appearance in SC and since then we get small bits of info on who he is and what he wants and extremely few moments of direct confrontation.
      At first we always though he was just a warmonger that wants to make Erebonia the leading nation through war by conquering all other nations which was easy enough to understand but in CS4 the game throws you the curveball and actually he was a good guy all along (which in itself was a big letdown to me) so we DEFINITELY needed a lot more screen time between him and class VII and especially Rean to truly understand this character and set things straight once and for all.
      The fact that I've been waiting for that after hundreds of hours playing Kiseki games means that we needed and deserved much more than just another trivial boss fight that ends in 10 minutes...
      This problem is aggravated further by the fact that CS4 wastes most of its time in pointless redundant quests of reuniting your previous allies and "convincing" other people to resist the curse by fighting them over and over to show your resolve. So much more time could have been used to show other outcomes and character development...
      Sky 1 and 2 presents and closes the plot that happened in Liberl in an outstanding fashion, the third game simply shows you extra info on the world and characters and presents a new protagonist and plot that is presented and resolved in the same game which was a great idea imo. Far better than what we got in CS4.
      As for Millium and Crow coming back from the dead, I think that is unacceptable after the ending of CS2 and CS3 where they both sacrifice themselves to save everyone. If there was no real sacrifice then there is no real consequence to what happens in the story, it's as if the game makes you for a fool every time this happens.
      The writers were just way too afraid of killing their characters and the world just doesn't feel like it's changing and going forward this way. It may have a plausible explanation lore-wise but that doesn't erase the fact that the impact of the previous endings were nullified by this fear of letting go of your characters.
      The same can be said about Angelica, Olivert, Victor, Toval, the Emperor, etc. I mean, we have a huge war going on and we have already a huge cast of characters, there was zero need to spare the lives of all of these and probably many others.
      Well, I just hope that Hajimari helps me find the explanations and closure that I'm looking for. Although it kinda feels like I'm being ripped off by having to play 5 100h long games to get the answer I'm looking for. The crossbell arc was the best one for me so far, just 2 games where the first one presents you the characters and plot and the second game puts everything to rest in a polished, satisfying manner and that's it. We don't need huge, drawn out sagas like Cold Steel anymore, it just gets too exhaustive and redundant.
