    You hit an RC home run. The only thing I’d ad would be metal bead locks. I have that controller & I’ve been putting the Hobbywings esc in all my RC crawlers. And the charger well this is what I’ve found out. At first when you have one or two RC’s it’s not a big deal & you get a charger that charges one at a time. But as I found out if you know you’ll be getting more RC’s don’t waste your money get a multi charger for sure. I have 6 RCs that take 3s batteries & it takes forever to charge them & have to start charging early in the evening to have them all ready to go. Excellent video especially for anyone new to RC’s. Even if I don’t always agree with some stuff most I do & enjoy your enthusiasm & kid like energy & smile. Definitely a thumbs up video 👍

    This is a great hobby! I'm really enjoying my trx4 blazer. I put proline beadlocks with Interco super swampers on mine and they seem like a good crawler tire too. I couldn't resist installing an ess sound module programmed with the small block chevy sound. I love the sound at idle 😊 your videos are so cool thank you and Happy Holidays

    I have a TRX-4 Sport and a TRX-6. I use Hobbywing AXE 550 3300kv, Proline Trencher Crawler on the TRX-6 and Ottsix USD Sticky on the Sport + a Flysky FS-NB4. My kids have Sports with Hobbywing Quickrun 1080 + Holmes Hobbies Crawlmaster Pro 550 12t.

    Yes I couldnt agree more on the GT5 and the HW1080. Truly bang for buck upgrades.

    I bought a 1080 due to your reviews, and I agree that it's worth every penny. I can't seem to justify the price of a brushless crawler combo, with the 1080 and wide variety of motors from companies like Holmes Hobbies. Tires should always be at the top of any upgrade list as well. Great insight for beginners to find their way.

      I went brushless and I regret it. Hobbywing axe r2. It's a great system just way too much. My second crawler
      has hw 1080 and I'm just as happy with it.

      @@ant9072 I just got my axe r2 2100 in today lol. How much too much? Maybe I put it in my sons rig because he’s loves to drive like a knucklehead.

    I just got a Flysky Gt5 to give it a go as you guys are always bang'n on about how awesome they are... its ok, but didn't like that you can't choose which switch will control what channel, but apart from that they are cheaper than my other spektrum and sanwa radios and have a pretty good feel about them.
    All in all good value for money.
    Cheers 👍

    The Hobbywing 1080 is a BEAST in my opinion! Durable, programmable and it can run 3s.
    That would have been my first guess for upgrade. Yes, a faster motor will let you go FASTER, but being able to give your motor 3s power will really wake it up!
    I ordered one for my brother in (almost) law. Even thought about having one on hand for when and if my cousins xl-5 takes a dive.
    Best Wishes

    I've definitely got to agree on the Proline Hyrax tires.
    They have brought every truck I've put them on to life..

    Price considered my best upgrade on my scx10 was the weight in my wheels, I added 3 ounces in each wheel and it makes a huge difference, I've put hundreds of dollars in upgrades on that truck and I think the weights was the best so far.

    I agree on the FlySky transmitter. If you live in Europe, it might be sold as the Absima CR6P. Great unit and the receivers can be found on Aliexpress for like 15 euro's. I can totally recommend them!

      @heady2008 Před 2 lety

      It's a shame that they didn't incorporate the USB charging socket and lanyard from the GT3c as that would have made it perfect. I have both but still use the GT3c for most of my models. Hobbyking also sell their version as they do with a few of the Flysky radios

  • @Braindog

    Good to know i did the right Upgrades;) However, I use Louise tires because I mostly drive over roots and loose soil in the forest. The Louise Champ and Rowdy are good.
    And i use brass because high Body to get the cg back ;)

    • @heady2008
      @heady2008 Před 2 lety

      I'm also a fan of the Rowdy and Champ tyres (sold as Fastrax Boxer and Rocko's in the UK) I have just tested the Tusk tyres and I reckon the Rowdy's are better once in the woods as they clear earth better

  • @heady2008
    @heady2008 Před 2 lety

    For price the Louise/Duratrax/Fastrax tyres are hard to beat. Pair with Injora beadlocks and 100mm hairbun donuts and you have a grippy waterproof set up. As a long term RC plane flyer I've tried quite a few lipo makes in my over 25 years. What I would say is that crawlers really don't need hgh end batteries as the amp draw is fairly low but you do need a high C rating if using small capacity packs. Luckily I already have a quad charger but I totally agree on the GT5 and HW1080 even if 3 of my rigs are now running the excellent HW Fusion 1800.

  • @ThatWhiteGuy
    @ThatWhiteGuy Před 2 lety

    This was good to see, I would definitely agree with the hyrax, they are working better than RC4WD's softest tires and are half the price, and include rims

  • @jdsrcs8061

    The C10 is best out of the box in my opinion. The other 2 are more top heavy can be more prone to flipping. As far as best mods to do first, tires. I do not care for the stockers. The new proline Hyrax are awesome. Then maybe add a little bit of brass.

  • @andymarshall7119

    HW1080....check !

    Gens Ace and charger...next on the list if my Spektrum Smart gives me trouble

    Radiolink rc6gs with R7FG gyro teamed up with the Hobbywing 1800 2in1 in a TRX4 Defender, perfection. The tires can wait. HRB 5000 50c battery is great, cheap and lasts for ages too. Power HD tr4 wp servos to replace the pile of 💩 that $raxxas uses.

    How's the response delay of the flysky radio. On the fast 1/8 scale cars I can tell a big difference between 15ms and 2ms response times. On crawlers in not so sure it matters Su much. The faster ones really add a connected feel to the car/truck. Your thoughts?

    I think the best upgrade I did wad high clearance skid. Made the most difference changing that out. Esc amd tires are nothing if there not touching the ground

    Quick question. I have a Hobbywing xerun xr8 with a 1900 kv 4268 sensored, how would that be if I put that in a new bronco? Just installed traxs and I have this setup sitting on the shelf never used. So before I install wondering if it would be worth the swap a d use the 11 pinion

    • @RCReviewChannel

      C10 mainly because of the low CG body. First upgrades is brass axle cover for the front to lower the CG.

      For the high-end Spektrum radios that I refer to like the DX5, the receiver is $100 snp.link/18c89687
      I'm mainly referring to multi 5-6 channel radio with full features like screens and gyros, like the Flysky GT5
