    I really enjoy how they each problem solve and go up their own way

      Yes. With no leads to get tangled up too. Much preferable to a pack string/safer imo. One problem is big predators, so taking a guardian dog is a good idea…

    I would have to say after watching the Goat Guy crew is that his team is very smart, trained well, sure footed, and loyal. Thanks for sharing the journeys with us all 🐐🎥💯👍

    I'll be getting a pack set up in the next couple of months from you for my goat, it's going to be great having help in the mountains and a buddy at the same time !

    Think a few wethers and a burro might make me some good prospecting company! Do you pen them or tether them at night? Or do they stick close? I figure, if I foul up, I can ride the burro down to camp and thence load everyone into the truck, and to the ER I go! Maybe take a milking nanny or so, and her little boogers for entertainment and maybe sleeping bag heaters! I would be half afraid that I would have too much company in the evening though!

    • @akatsukiawsome13
      @akatsukiawsome13 Před 9 měsíci +3

      Alpines, Lamanchas, and Oberhasli make good packers, but make sure the lines they come from have good sound genetics. Generally won’t go too wrong with a full sized dairy breed. I have Oberhasli and they are surefooted enough for this.
      Just make sure you don’t buy goats that are too LONG IN THE BACK because they will have more spinal problems. Nubians are noisy. Lol

      Buy some packs and start with a light load and hike the fat off of them. They love working, and you'll be amazed, both in their capabilities and how fast they turn that fat into muscle.
      Plus they can pretty much indefinitely haul 25% of their body weight around and still navigate any terrain comfortably.
      They love to work, and they make backcountry camping so much more fun and accessible.

    Please help us by teaching a technique to carry some water on our goats without these kind of rigs as in india it is not easy to find and it will be too expensive if I get it
    So please teach us a simple way to do this🙏

    How would you handle someone's off leash dog coming after your goats trying to chase or harass them? I take great pride that my horses and mules are broke to mountain bikers riding by, and now I need to break them to goats and lamas too.

      If his goats are anything like mine they will "handle" a dog themselves. And mine doesn't have horns.
