I would love to try goat. I once bought some goat jerky sticks but it had dextrose in it. Had to give it away.
America is buggered
This guy bought the goat package. It has the most goats.
Just like to add there is nothing like the relationship between your goats and you,(their human). Since I believe we were all created, it is as though we were literally made for each other.
I saw your goat flipping video yeears ago, and thought it was very valuable/interesting. I didnt know I never subscribed to you until running across your channel again this last week, I'm so freaking happy I did. Developing that leader/alpha/dominance is very important with dogs as well. Im getting very close to making the move on a homestead build, and at least a couple of pack goats are an absolute must when I'm settled in. Along with your videos, watching Steve on the channel Firebox Stove has shown me how amazing pack goats can be. I will definitely be grabbing your course.
gracias❤
Beautiful!
Label watching has me skipping meals sometimes which is not healthy, beef is very spendy but very healthy. Hope I never HAVE to eat my packers. Steak for breakfast! Eggs for dinner lol
Man. I love your stuff. I will try to find the full video. I have milk goats, chickens and some Ram lambs to eat. I needed to lambs to teach my goats to eat grass, which they do now. I don’t raise vegetables because the goats have shown me green stuff to eat when I walk them and let them pick all their favorite stuff. It’s not genetically modified seed. It’s ancient vegetables. I watch them and then look up all their favorites. They are edible for humans and the most nutritious of all and often medicinal. I go to the store so rarely now. Mainly to get filtered water.
Wish I had known this long ago
My 6 day old baby goat was rejected by him mom and not sure if she hit him or stepped on him but, he has a hard time walking and standing and sometimes while he is laying he pees or poops himself..not sure what to do.
@@omattiemangar2845 sounds like he may have a spinal injury. Hopefully he works his way through it.
Is there something you recommend me doing or a sign that he needs medical attention right away?
Dog training makes a person so aware. I know you were a great dog trainer because you do not have a rubber stamp generic method for all animals. I’m sure your children benefit from this also. I appreciate your insights and I understand where the vision came from.
Yeah, Marc, so many things to watch for. We dam raise our kids, seems like a little less work, but got blindsided by a parasite infestation after they were weaned in the little bucky pen. Little guy had bottle jaw by the time I noticed, called the vet, and we saved the other two. Had a first time mama with a single, biggest newborn I had ever seen, he was strong looked like he was nursing fine, but she had a mastitis going on, I didn't catch it, little guy couldn't get enough, and I lost him. Hard lessons learned, so I watch a lot closer now.
Goat banding
I love Steve on the channel "Firebox Stove" doing lots of camping/catch & cook trips with his adorable pack goats.
New to the channel, do you have plans for the covered feeding troughs? Those look great.
I thought I'd done my research before getting my nigerian dwarf buck and another small mix, they said he was a savanns/? Mix, but who knows. First of all, bought them both at trade days, don't ever do that. Secondly, i knew nothing about urinary calculi in goats, both were bucks. I had their pen all set up, feeders/ feed bought, minerals, baking soda...fell in love with them instantly. 2-3 weeks in, the mix goat was acting a little off. Started researching, decided it was urinary calculi, very serious, started trying to find a vet, bc apparently not all vets treat all animals, was calling around 3 states, took me 2 days to find one. He was only about an hour away. Rushed my baby down there, he agreed, after x-rays, that it was urinary calculi, kept him. Doctored him for 3 days and tells me he's gonna need surgery bc he was filled with calculi, i mean packed. He did the surgery. He wasn't getting any better, long story short i lost him. My heart was broken. Said he most likely was impacted when purchased, i just didn't know. 😢 he also said, in his opinion, goats should only ever be fed hay, and as you said, grass hay not straight alfalfa, maybe a little goat feed now and then as a treat, but very little. The vet was truly amazing, couldn't ask for better service. I still am heart broken and carry the guilt of his loss. My other baby, Gimli, has been on straight hay since then, plus dry loose minerals and baking soda, he's over a year old now and is thriving. I hate that he is alone and in hindsight wish i had gotten 2 does, but....hard lesson learned. He gets tons of attention, but is starting to develope a habit of wanting to butt, I'm sure he just wants to play, but this needs dealt with, the garden hose works, if i pick it up he immediately stops, however it isn't always handy so i figure I'm going to have to flip him. I think it may only take 2-3 times, he's pretty smart lol. Really just wanted to say i appreciate your videos and the knowledge you share, wish I'd found you sooner.

We love our goats, but are not familiar with how to make our lives blend. Thank you for your help!!
I just sweeten with organic maple syrup and a bit of organic vanilla, tastes amazing
Парень одет, как у нас в деревне в России. Я так и думала, что он сейчас начнёт говорить по русски))) 👍
Thank you for doing this series. I look forward to each episode. Are there specific minerals that they need or just an all purpose blend?
@@lauriefleet3573 you always wanna make sure you’re feeding loose mineral that stays out of the weather and isn’t a poop collector. Goat specific mineral by Purina has a tendency to be my favorite as a general guess but mineral is area specific and you might need to try a few different blends to see what works best in your area.
Tails wagging the whole way! THANK you for sharing ☺️
This is beautiful! I see so many people keeping their goats in small lifeless, boring enclosures and it makes me so angry. They’re actually very smart and active animals. This makes me so happy.!!!🩶🐐
He’s a beautiful friend. Your advice has been very important to my interaction with my herd. Thank you for sharing
We definitely enjoy all the great information. We are still in the planning stages of infrastructure. We have a chance to purchase 2 doelings 4-5 months old. Any suggestions on a decent fenced area.? We have only 5 acres but a lot of mesquite trees.
What breed of goat are they?
And Woven fencing is a key… anything “welded wire” is going to pop apart in two seconds flat. I actually like “light duty” woven field fence near my chickens installed upside down. Chickens can easily pass through the large “top” hole spacing and the tighter squares of the “bottom” being on the top seems to discourage climbing.
Great video, new goat owner here and I learned some important new info in this short and sweet upload. Only bit of advice: consider including the word “fencing” in the title
Nice video.
Marc, you're so right on fencing. Horse no clinb fence is the best for goats.
Thank you for doing your videos . I have learned a lot . I am in an area of Canada that it is difficult to find a vet that will see a goat and to get medications is next to impossible without a vet .

My male pygmy goat is very loud. He is around 4 months old. Another female is quieter. It is like screaming, not a normal goat sound. I am so stress. He will start screaming around 8am, he will cool down after i give him food. At noon he will start again until 6pm. He will stop screaming when he sees me. What can i do? I keep them in my house compound. I live in the city.
@@amruzeta no way to quiet a goat except let them get older. They tent to quite more as they age.
Do you have a video of showing how a goat would approach you if he’s going to head butt new to goats and wanting to know like if they go to approach you aggressively what to expect
Thank u for ur videos they have helped a lot for my 1st goat 🐐 ♥️
I may be looking into one for my 8ft bed, so I can still haul a camper. Does it secure down to the truck bed at all?
@@Ryanmdvm ya. With multiple options.
Thanks for sharing, learning about my 2 new goats. Just 10 months old. They are a hoot!
When I first started milking a few goats I was a little disappointed to learn that it's very hard to get cream from goat milk. Neither my wife nor I can taste any difference between raw goat milk and organic cows milk (we cool it very fast), so it's hard to understand why it behaves so differently. My goal was to buy no mass produced dairy, but it looks very hard to make some products (like ice cream, sour cream and even some cheeses) with goat milk. I guess I have to buy a cow 😢.
Very cool. Thanks for sharing 😊
THANK YOU for sharing this recipe! I have been on the look out for a raw goat milk recipe without sugar! Does this ice cream get icy after it is in the freezer for a bit?
@@HereForeverFarm1370 yes. It becomes like a block in the freezer.
Nice
Goat milk ice cream is so good. I have the same ice cream maker. I am going to try frozen goat milk yogurt. My friend made lemon and it was so good.
Omg so I found you from listening to Melissa Norris. I don’t believe I own enough property for 2 goats (maybe not even 1) at the moment but gathering whether I’ll be able to take care of them properly, understanding how easy or hard their basic needs will be compared to my chickens… I mean I could go on but more episodes please!!
So excited to try this!
Nice…I’ve never tried the peanuts but I’ve had great results with bananas 🍌 I would imagine peanuts more ideal for a large farm as such…I only keep 3 Nigerian Dwarfs. Great tips and thanks for sharing the knowledge
Another great video full of information. Thanks Mark! ❤
