Zeus is an adorable head tilter. Loved hearing how you started helping your dad in the workshop. Very interesting.
I found it interesting too. Hid father would be very proud.
Zeus is going to make YOU mess up? Um, I think it is more likely that perhaps if you keep him waiting much longer you are going to make HIM mess up. When you gotta go you gotta go and that applies to dogs as well as people. I loved all the head tilting. Great dog! I appreciated hearing your backstory and I have enjoyed watching a great craftsman at work. There are people who know how to do their job and then there are people who REALLY know how to do their job. You fall into the latter category. I just recently found your channel so I am still working my through all your older videos. New subscriber from Nashville, Tennessee.
Thanks for the story..its always nice to know what people have had for experience in their life.
It’s good to hear your back history and the struggles you had to endure as a young immigrant, and you grew up to be a fine man and your father would be incredibly proud of your success. What I like about you is you are independent and self supporting and I’m sure he instilled that in you and it’s truly the American dream and the stuff that made us great in the past and will continue to in the future as long as this spirit is rewarded. I’m pretty certain that your pops wouldn’t have left Lebanon if they had a similar reward system in place and we need to keep this going for future immigrants to achieve this too. Handouts don’t build character. Handouts build dependency. Bless you, sir!
Steve, your life story is interesting and touching. I also came to the US as a young teenager (from Greece), faced similar problems in school. My dad was a blacksmith, he made and sharpened knives, and pruning hooks.
Thanks again
S. K. I came here from Greece too. Stupid kids would make fun of me for all sorts of things but I got a kick out of it when one kid called me Zeus!
Man he got some miles out of those! Look we’re paying attention. Nice and thank you that you share your personal history. Shoes look great ...........as always. Zeus is a love. Handsome shepherd he is and so happy.
Thanks for sharing a bit of your backstory with us, I really enjoyed it. Also I love seeing Zeus at the shop.
How do you make a perfect video better? Add an adorable dog!
Always a winner with an adorable Dog in tow.
Rainwater739, you are so correct. I love watching Andrew Camarata because he has a great work ethic that shows through in every project he takes and his home is a castle he has built out of storage containers! So his videos are already pretty awesome but they are so much greater because Levi his dog goes with him on most of his jobs to supervise. Levi has added an apprentice named Cody, an adorable puppy who is being taught the ropes by Levi.
Love to see when a merchant owns his own building. You can’t be forced out by high rents
Steve, Thank you for sharing your personal story. Your dad would be proud of you! Also, thanks for sharing the workings of your Landis Outsole Stitcher. Please video the next time you clean it. The inner workings and the engineering of those old machines is stunning. No microchips, no coding or 3-D imagining, just good old engineering and metal. Keep up the good work!
Love those boots👍🏻❤️ Zeus is very handsome. Dog people are good people❤️ You are good people. Your dad must have been so proud of you🥰
I wouldn’t have guessed you immigrated in 6th grade. Your English is perfect. You have an incredible story. Keep hammering!
Love your craftsmanship! I thoroughly enjoy watching a master no matter what the trade. Especially enjoyed hearing your history. Knew you were lebanese but never heard the story (I’m fairly new to your channel). Just proud to call you a fellow American now. The USA is better for you being here. Thank God your parents made the amazing journey in ‘77!!!!!!!!!!
Love Zeus! Omg, they way he tilts his head when you speak to him - it's so precious! Love him. And yah, you got that song stuck in my head!
On another note, your dad would be proud.
Thanks for the story Steve! So many of us who owe all we have to our Dad's teaching.... so wish they were still around to share our success and how we long to hear their voice again! ... and so we can say "Thanks!" to them in a very big way.
Bored flipping through CZcams one night about month ago ,stumbled on these videos.....I'm amazed , your a true craftsman . Very nice work!
Bedo, Thank You so much for sharing. I knew there was a reason why you are so genuine and kind. I have great admiration and respect for you. Your craft and skill is truly a piece of you that you give lovingly to each customer. I would be so honored to have one of your masterpieces. Maybe one day. My son lives in VA.
God Bless,
Irene from Guam🌺🌴
I enjoy watching a master at his trade. You have awesome control of that knife when you are separating the sole from the shoe. I shudder to think of me trying that. It would not end well for me or the nice leather shoe. lol I am in my low 60s and I can remember as a kid going downtown with my best friend Nick. His dad made and repaired shoes. We would go watch him work. He had a bench in the front window of the store and people would stop and watch. Great memories. Nicks Dad is 90 now and loves to talk about those days. Linda Perry sings that song. It is a song that once you hear it you can't shake it.lol I love her voice. She is the wife of actress Sarah Gilbert . New subscriber. This is just the second video of yours I have seen , but I will watch many more.
That heel-lining trick with the sewing machine with no thread is jolly clever. 👍🤪🇬🇧
Hi Steve, those shoes were marvellous, great job.
Lovely to hear about your early years. You had a great teacher, I'm positive your Father would be so proud of you.
Nice family photos on the wall...👍
Would love to see customer reactions from time to time. You did such a sweet job on these. Really dig that pattern you created around the sole perimeter. The customer would have to have had a smile a mile wide.
Love the back story, bitter sweet. Great success, but sad your father isn't around to see it. Every year I just keep hoping my folk's
will be around just a few more years as I try to finally make something of myself. If they go before I 'make it', it is gonna be tough.
Another SUPERB video from CZcams’s best shoe restorer, now let’s continue.
Another beautiful job! And that fabulous Zeus just makes my heart sing.
Oh my gosh, Zeus is adorable! I used to have a German Shepherd growing up; they are such loving, intelligent and hard-working beauties. Thank you so much, as always, Steve, for sharing your exquisite craftsmanship (and adorable doggo!) with us!
Beautiful job Steve!! They look great! Loved the backstory on how you got started. I'm sure your father is looking down on you and is very proud of what he sees. Like how you added your dog in the video. Can't wait to order a T shirt or two (xl).
There is a video or two where you walk us through the shop and those videos are fantastic with a little story telling but this video from 24:24 to 29:05 mark is some of the best side commentary on your channel ever. I wish I could mark and rank these video files on my CZcams so I could replay them over and over. The fact is, some of your personal commentary is equal or more powerful than the leatherwork. As a human being you are a sum of parts and when you share that stuff it can be most endearing.
Bedo, coming from a man with larger feet and shoe needs you do such favors by making a difficult find in the first place into a work of art.
Your a saint and a true gentleman;-) Am sure the man who owns these shoes is very very grateful to find a expert craftsmen for his needs.
Be exceptionally blessed as always and thanks for feeding us clean oats that haven't been thru the horse already. Love your german shepard what a great dog;-) so smart eh! Much Peace BBh
Thank you for sharing your history in the craft. Your dad would be so proud. Hopefully you will be able to bring your children into the craft. Blessings!
Great background, Steve. Everyone has his/her own story. Not speaking English at first when young makes for a tough start, but shaped you into a wonderful American anyone would want as a neighbor. Love the boots!
Loved the story about your dad! Thanks for sharing with all of us.
Just listened to the short story of your dad , you've taken his knowledge and continued the skill of your father and yourself which I enjoy your different types of repair to a high standard just great to watch .
I loved the restoration and the family story! Thanks for sharing.
I appreciate the back story. Fantastic work!!
Thanks for showing how the Landis machine works. I didn’t know how long it would take you to show it when I asked a few videos back. I like the way you interact with your viewers. The boots came out nice, awesome work as always.
Man Steve I just watched another channel doing shoe repair and I must say it confirmed what I already knew your the best!!!!! Your craftsmanship and passion is really a pleasure to watch
Great video Steve. Really touching story about your dad. Loved seeing Zeus. All the best . T
Steve, loved to hear your background story! Appreciate your craftsmanship as always! Keep it up!
Beautiful craftsmanship, thank you so much 🙏 the singing is just an added bonus...
privileged to hear your personal story. every success don't come easy. well done and keep going!
It's a pleasure watching you work Steve. You inspire me to be better at what I do.
That sole pattern is super neat! Great idea
I Love your dog! What a good boy! God bless you Steve. Thanks for the background story. I’m sure your Dad would be very proud of you. You are a master craftsman.
One of the best videos yet! Super cool to hear your backstory and also see the doggo!
Every time you do a boot video, I just enjoy it more. Great job Steve! Like you little life story too. You have come a long way.
Wonderful story about your dad and you. Really personalizes this video. And another quality project!
Steve, sewing without thread to make the inside pattern ... diabolically smart man!! That was a tip to remember.. thanks!!!
Thumbs up people 👍 👍 👍 👍 👍 👍 👍 👍 👍 👍 👍 👍 👍 👍 👍 👍 👍 👍
Thank you for the story about you as a kid.. I used to teach elementary school...and I would always remind the students..unless you are Native American..all our ancestors are from somewhere else.. I really enjoy your videos...thank you.. the artistry is fascinating..
Zeus is gorgeous. Gotta love a GSD head tilt.
Oh my God,you again caused my jaws dropping on the floor, how nice you repaired them , so much nicer that their first made by almond,God bless you dude, take care , hammer hammer time time time.....
Thanks for sharing your story! Love it
I’ve seen pretty much every video you’ve done, and this is one of my favorites; well done Sir! Loved the personal story time, and the inside look at the big sewing machine, and... everything else of course!
Great story. Great work. Watching a real craftsman is therapeutic for me. Love it.
Anyone complaining about the editing is wasting their time watching your videos. I learn something with each one. Today's lesson was about wasted motion. I noticed as you reached for a nail when nailing the heel base, you ran your thumb over the nail you just set to make sure it was flush with the surface.
Really enjoyed the background story in this vid. Thanks for sharing Steve!
My dad was a cobbler to trade and seeing your videos really does well me up thinking about his work. You are doing a great job!
I know that you are proud of your dad, but most of all, he is up there so very proud of YOU!. What you have accomplished would make him so very proud of his son. Congratulations Steve, well deserved my friend!
He began by restoring himself first, and continues to do so in each leatherwork. Coooool...
I love the backstory part, very touching.
Thanks, Bedo!
I like that pattern you stamped into the soles. Amazing job as usual.
AWWW! What a beautiful dog!! I had a Zeus myself, he was a one eyed black cat. Was one of the best cats I have ever had the privilege of knowing:) You can tell that those were his favorite shoes:)🇬🇷😀
Great job. You are a joy to watch. Thanks.
Been watching for a couple of months and wondered about the back ground. Thanks!
Enjoyed the job, the personal back story, and Zeus!
Steve, it is always a treat watching a real artist go to work on a pair of shoes most cobblers would not even try to repair. I think you are too humble about your skills, saying you are not perfect. While that is probably true, the thing you do is, more often than not, you make the shoes better than when they were brand new, and that is something. I have a local guy I use for most of my shoe repair. I like him. He keeps my AE shoes in good repair so they don't get to the sad state those Fifth Street boots got to. And his rates are reasonable. BUT, he doesn't make my shoes better than they were when they were new.
The reason I subscribed to his channel. He has a natural talent for shoes and has a lot of misunderstandings as a child. I can relate as a skilled hand labor worker.
Great work on those boots! And what a great dog ! Zeus stole the show ❤
Heart warming, Steve. Top notch. A fantastic, inspiring American Story.
Hey Steve: your patching machine has a walking foot: it really helps to hold the layers together without slipping while you stitch. An awesome addition to sewing machines! Thank you for sharing your Armenian background and childhood (broken nose included)! And while your father might not believe how you've expanded, he would be very proud. No matter the complaints about the noise: It's Hammertime! (Love that Zeus!)
Steve,Why did you speed up ,"Hammer Time" ? .Its onr of my favourite parts of the show !
I love and appreciate your explanations!
Great video. Thanks for sharing your story.
Zeus is a great addition to your shop love the way he tilts his head when you are talking to him he is so beautiful take care stay safe
He seems like a grumpy grandpa. Watching him and listening to him ramble is like spending time with my dad, and I love it.
Love the work you do. Thank you for sharing your craft.
👍🏻👍🏻Nice project to see Steve ,again thx for the vlog and the time ,see you next time 👍🏻👍🏻❤️❤️
Your videos are fine, Steve! I wouldn't even know where to begin to make one. Everything has a learning curve. Keep making them and keep up the great work.
Great video Steve
The liner trick is awesome , will try that next time .
Great story! Extremely interesting... thank you
Thank you for all your work with these videos! They very educational and thank you for sharing your story. Also your dog is major cute!
Your video came up as a recommendation and the first thing I saw was Bedo's. It has been over 25 years but I used to bring my shoes in there during my DC days. Lived in FC for about 15 years. I now live in Texas and to this day when my shoes need attention I say...."my shoes need some B-dos. lol Thanks for the memory jolt.
Good job and GREAT STORY, LOVE, LOVE & LOVE.
Thank you for sharing.
Let's continue.
Thanks for showing how the outside stitching matching works. Very interesting.
Another fantastic job. You are an incredible story teller.
Amazing piece of work !!
Great work, great story and great dog!
Beautiful work..love the stories and showing the machines
Great video and informative.
Its no surprise to find another Armenian craftsman excelling in his art....
Zeus .. is awesome...
Cheers from Australia
Beautiful job Steve! They look like new!
I like the sound of Hammer Time! The sound that makes me grit my teeth is the squeakin' and rustlin' when someone is rootin' through a handbag or purse! LOL!! It Drives me nuts!! 😅
a little worn out ??? LMAO....the sole started talking. you actually mentioned ..they in bad shape....love watching your videos...you do amazing work...
Great looking boots. Amazing work
Fan of your work, loved the personal history section. Keep up the fantastic work and the videos!
Awesome craftsmanship and awesome family story
Third video in a row. I love the art of shoe repair. You sir, have gained another sub.
Man, what a story! Your dad would be certaily proud!!
Steve. Great story about your mom and dad. You are living the American Dream sir. Congratulations!
Dear Sir, I admire your work, skills and dedication in each and every pair of shoes that you handle. Your idea for adding brogueing holes on to the sole, coz you do not want to throw away a tool is very commendable. Keep up the good work dear Sir. I wish to be able to send you a pair of my shoes for your great restoration works one of these days. Zeus a handsome German Shepard!
Great video, your projects always show a different aspect of your skills. I loved your story, you have a way of looking into the camera and being genuine. You experienced the immigrant life what with your father starting small, you seeing that it could be so much more, and you did it. You are now a proud American and are living the American dream. I wish the best for you always. Steve the brawler, who knew!!
Loved your background story of how you became a master cobbler. I have no doubt your dad is looking over you. And thinking that's my son. How proud he is of you. You do some great work. I'm no cobbler but I enjoy watching your your work. We always want bigger and better things in life. But you know sometimes we have to make do with what we got. I love the character of your shop and your editing. It's the real deal. Doesn't always have to be fancy editing. To show your craft. Thanks for sharing your skill. Great work as always my friend. And a big hi from across the pond uk.
Cool Family info. That's what makes this country great!
