I loved the story, and I wish I could remember who said it. "You should have seen the day after Poland got free of the Soviet Union...all over every town long lines of people lined main streets, selling whatever they had to sell." Buying and selling (trade) is one of the foundational basics of living together. Free trade is the beginning of freedom for people all the way around.

Something is fishy here... Three weeks after this was posted there are NO 'Likes' or 'Dislikes' showing (except the one I just clicked), and it shows 359 Comments. Also, it showed 70,150 'Views' when I started the video, which seemed rather low, so I reloaded it. During the time I watched this truly fabulous conversation, the 'Views' count went up to 70,221.
Now, if 71 separate individuals watched this video at exactly the same time three weeks after posting, these numbers do not make sense at all. I suspect a sneaky fiddle to minimize/underplay the true interest in, and appreciation for, this discussion, but am unqualified to do the math properly. Anyone care to check this out?

28:00 minute mark... the wisdom of these guys shone through; humble. One word.
I don't know if you could find two gentlemen of more polar opposition that I admire equally in essence. Beck, all bombast and broadcaster, Saad, a refined academic. Both humble in their own way.
When I was a kid my Mom took me aside and told me how important it was to watch myself around others and reserve my gregarious way. "You are smart and people will not like it. Be humble, respectful and consider perspective." I had to learn to listen. Really listen to people that were wrong. It took a long time.

Glenn, Thank you for having these long form interviews. About abortion, I was indoctrinated by public school to believe the B.S. of pro-abortion (I refuse to call it Pro-Choice). I remember the first time I heard about this was from my FIFTH grade Catholic teacher who was pro-abortion. Roe v. Wade was the cause celebre at the time.
I think one is either for life or not. Just use logic. So if in your example, if your daughter were to get raped and were to get pregnant, that child is still half of your daughter. The logical decision is to give birth, keep the child/love it or to give it up for adoption. Either way, it is the best decision for both mother-child and upholding of God's commandments. I think a mother would have a whole lot less guilt to give the gift of a child to a childless couple than to have murder on her conscience. To have an exception for rape/incest, waters down the rectitude of being pro-LIFE.

I first discovered Glenn Beck in early Sept. when he interviewed Dave Ruben after his Aug. 2019 "off-the-grid" vacation, he does every year. I have since become a HUGE fan of Glenn, as he has fantastic conversations and an extremely well presented point of view. I don't always agree with that point of view, but he always gives me something to think about.
As for The Gadfather..... he too is spectacular! If you appreciate sarcasm and politically incorrect humor (and most specifically, anti-SJW takes), check out his history of videos.... great stuff! BTW, he also does some great interviews and my fave is a 3 part series with Jordan Peterson. Gad brings out the playful in Jordan and intrigues him as well.
PS. If the "superchat" screen is available, I recommend you watch it, along with the conversation. As it turns to Islam, toward the end, there are some interesting thoughts on Muslims and population growth. Whether you agree or not, the people in chat had some interesting things to say.

For many years I wondered why I was so fascinated about the Nazi period in Germany. I was a career military man, once even stationed in Germany, so I passed my interest off as a product of my knowledge of military history. Suddenly one day it dawned on me the real reason. How could a people, who led the world in science, art, music and mathematics suddenly, over a period of 13 years, become the most vial society in the history of civilization? It was so unbelievable that I could never quite get my mind around it.

So much information. I watched it three times. If the Gadfather and Esther Perel had a baby, that offspring would be MY god.

Agnostics are those of us in the middle of hard core believers and hard core atheists. We are actually the most honest, because we say "we don't know".

Anyone know the book Gad mentions at 18.30 mins? Or the name of the author. I’d like to check it out.
Oh and love the Gadfather. He’s no 1.

One thing atheists never really answer correctly how do you define Truth? is there such a thing? IF there is a Truth how is it different from God (dont give me the "man in the cloud" strawman) Is there Free Will? (hint: the argument for God is exactly the same as the one for Free WIll); without Free WIll can you assign guilt? Without Free WIll can there be a Just criminal trial? Thus without God/FreeWIll can there be Justice?

I'm an atheist, and I'll give you an answer: so much for your "never." No, there is no such thing as "Truth" with a capital "T" and without any context. Some things are true and others are untrue, depending on the situation at hand, as you damn well know! Thus, it is Truth that I am typing this on CZcams: what that has to do with some sort of supernatural being that supposedly created the universe beats me! In theory, there is no such thing as free will (there you go again with your pretentious and meaningless upper-case initialisation!), because everything is the result of previous causes, and thus nothing that happens could have happened any other way unless the previous causes had been different, which they weren't. In practice, however there is free will, purely as a legal, moral, and social necessity, because without it society would fall apart. If you murder your wife, it is _theoretically_ certain that you couldn't have done anything else, because the chain of cause-and-effect cannot be broken. But that won't get you off, unfortunately for you, and fortunately for society, which has to blame somebody, doesn't it? What will be, will be.

@@DieFlabbergast to add to this, punishing someone without freewill has a likelyhood of changing their future behavior because of cause and effect.

Truth is a concept. Truth is subjective. Truth is a tool. Truth is weapon. Truth is not always fact; though fact is not always fact.

Ah, the classic "God is a metaphor" argument. If demoting god from an omnipotent being that created the universe and rules over us to a vague cloud of feeling that hovers around is what it takes to continue believing in him fine, but to me that's placing god below us. If god only exists as a concept in our minds then he is less than a worm and I don't see the point in worshiping that.
Besides, atheism merely describes a lack of faith in something. Depending on which god you believe in you are an atheist towards all other gods ever described by other religions.

At around 53:33, Glenn Beck says "I don't believe that the waters parted okay I do believe the Jewish oral tradition that the winds might have swept and swept the water to leave a path ". Isn't that an epitome of "Olympic mental gymnastics"?
