I hope its the end of January. they could lay out the roadmap for the next five months.
I hope it’s the end of January. One in January & September (Xbox Directs) then a big one in June (e3), special (Gamescon) and surprise (Game Awards).
I think it'll be in March because I'm used to being disappointed.

I had read a rumour that “someone” got a marketing deal for the game and that it would be revealed soon. With Xbox getting a marketing deal for the Persona 3/4/5 ports I could see them also getting Persona 6

I wouldn't expect Persona 6 anytime soon. All of the rumors with any teeth to them at all point to a Persona 3 remake in P5's style.

I'm putting in for vacation from my job, as soon as we have a release date for Starfield. Starfield will be the first time I will anticipate the launch of a new Bethesda rpg , with plans to play right at the launch. I didn't play Skyrim, Oblivion, Fallout etc... until well after the launch dates for those.

I think starfield will actually come out soon, because Redfall was internally delayed by 6 weeks. Xbox cannot afford to delay starfield again. Also if starfield was too be delayed again there wouldn’t be a Xbox event. And the re wouldn’t be a support page

They've also already had about 7 months of development since their E3 trailer. Game should be pretty good right now.

Xbox has no obligation to present at the game awards or anywhere, but they do need to be smart about their marketing. They’ve been radio silent recently without doing much to boost the brand. They didn’t even announce the next wave of GP games this past Tuesday. If there is a showcase it should be done soon (like a surprise next Tuesday soon). If not they should quell rumors by saying when there will be one or if there won’t. Giving a date for a showcase or small direct (call it Direct X) isn’t unreasonable.
what's odd is we haven't had a list of games for Gamepass, since it began we had two lists, 1 and 3rd Tuesday, not one missed till this Dec as had no 2nd list. First week on Jan and still nothing but told not to worry, something is coming soon. Like if their waiting for the showcase, then why cuz isn't that at the end of the month, are they changing the way they announce Gamepass games cuz that method worked very well. You got a list of everything coming, pc, xbox, cloud, whats been added to touch screen controllers, games leaving, perks being added. You could plan ahead knowing a game you really want to play is coming by not starting another big game.

If they're going to do a "showcase" it SHOULD be January to get all the new trailers out, create a sizzle reel, and then take out a SUPERBOWL Ad for the week later for Game Pass

They straight up said starfield is still coming in the first half of 2023 soooooo yeah. The only people who said Starfield was coming out after redfall were content creators who were just assuming. Starfield could come well before redfall for all we know. Hell starfield could come out in march or april. We won’t know until they tell us. I get so frustrated when people who have no information say “this is what xbox has to do” they can do whatever the hell they want.
I truly don't think there will be an event in January. Logistic reasons IMO
"Pentiment"-level games is just a really pretentious way of saying AA. That's fine, they can say AA. I think most people would be happy with MORE AA games in the market. Fun experimental titles that have the creative freedom closer to what you find in indie games, while still having enough money injected into it by publishers to demand polish and accountability from it's investors.
The problem is that AA games still have this negative connotation of being “kiddie games”, even though we know that’s far from the truth

I've never in my life heard of AA games being referred to as kids games. Must be a recent sentiment. They were always just largely ignored outside of niche circles, or only well known within specific genres. A lot of AA development did flock to handhelds with the DS/3DS/PSP where production costs were even lower - but the Switch has largely killed off that niche.
AA is associated with a lower quality.
Pentiment level/style game means smaller but still polished and high quality.

Typically AA games are of a much HIGHER quality than AAA, but lack the polish of the major AAA releases that will sacrifice mechanical depth and novelty for graphics fidelity, famous actors, and post-launch monetization. It's just the nature of the wider market they're appealing to, trying to maximize returns on a ridiculous amount of investment.
I still don't get why instead of a game Xbox don't offer the Series S|X with 6 months of Ultimate Game Pass for $50 extra, this makes more sense to me in the long run as it would give them a taste of the service which they are more likely to continue to pay for once the 6 months runs out and it would pad their GP numbers which would make Satia happy.
Yeah that would be be pretty awesome, maybe GameStop can do that since they make you get bundles but if Xbox sells it for 500 still that would be the better way

Youll get one at the end of 2023. You’ll get something after march about some indie games and old 2016-2020 games coming to gamepass and you xbots will love it. Then in nov or dec 2023 you will get a showcase with games like fable and maybe some new games all coming in 2025 or 2026.
I'm still trying to figure out how come hell blade keeps getting pushed so far back we don't even talk about it as if it's not a top tier game anymore it's been almost 3 years
It’s most likely because of the legal battle Microsoft is having with the FTC and Sony, particularly with the argument about exclusives, which is also why Sony was holding back on showing their exclusives as it would give ammo to Microsoft for their argument on why the deal should go through.
I’m sure we won’t have to wait too long though.

Ready for starfield enough of these multi-billion dollar companies setting unrealistic release dates only to push them back multiple times ....I think the community has had enough of that type of thing how about you say its going to be a year later than u think and then surprise us idk ....idk if everyone feels this way and of course we don't want another cyberpunk issue but still you have the resources to do it right just stop making unrealistic and ultimately unreliable predictions about when we can play said game....just say it will be a year longer than u think it will and then it will probably be closer to right

Basically the event that's coming up is a summary of what's coming in 2023 and 2024 The event should last no more than 45 minutes it will be coming within the next 25 to 30 days if we're lucky it's coming within 2 weeks
Jan 31 makes a lot of sense since age of empires is dropping that day
im a fan of both sony and xbox, i hope xbox will come out with a bang 2023 because they have been a flop for a couple of years.

Playstation doing a God of War Ragnarok + PS5 bundle is understandable. The game isn't part of a subscription and can only be played through the full game purchase.
How does a GamePass game + XBX Bundle work for Xbox? Is the point of it to give the user a taste of GamePass so they subscribe? If so, why not just include the game for free? Or is it just to drive struggling console sales?

Let's be honest. Xbox Showcase events are mediocre. I hope they knock it out of the park but I'm not optimistic.
I hope its a BIG event where they show the roadmap for the next 12 months, AKA 2023. Mid year shows dont make sense to me, people set their expectations in years, so I would rather have a showcase in the first month to sets my expectations for the year.
They could even shadow drop the first game in the event, that would be awesome! They have a LOT games to drop until June

No one is denying Xbox hasn't made big moves to improve their games library. BUT, the MAJORITY of the Xbox player base is looking for award winning AAA games that can rival PS exclusives, not indie games that go straight to GamePass. Xbox gamers are done waiting, and if Xbox doesn't deliver, I believe Xbox will be losing a large number of their playerbase indefinitely. Xbox gamers need start hold Xbox accountable, no more crappy half-made games.

@Liam Flan95 I own a Series X, and up until GoW Ragnarok came out, Xbox was my main gaming source. But, I bought a PS because I have absolutely no interest in what GamePass/Xbox currently has. My Xbox friendlist reflects what I'm talking about. You can't tell me I'm wrong when I'm experiencing exactly what I'm saying. That may not be your experience, though.

@Stephen Williams I own an Xbox Series X and have owned everyone since the original. I'm calling things how I see them. Xbox currently has nothing on Gamepass or games that I'm interested in. My friends list on Xbox reflects what I've said, the majority have stopped playing Xbox and have gone to PS to play exclusives from that platform and who knows if they'll be back if Xbox doesn't deliver soon.
