Even if it bounces perfectly, the bigger issue would likely be shooting (and to a lesser extent: passing). The aerodynamics of the ball will presumably be totally different than a regular ball.
Apparently they tested it on dirt and outside and it doesn't collect little rocks or dirt in it & air doesn't affect it more then a real ball, but that is the company talking
I think it is worth in long term as people can be fully accustomed to a highly calibrated ball and fine tune their accuracy of ball handling and shooting only based on internal factors!
It’s useful for dribbling if you were to practice inside and live in like an apartment or something. Not useful for shooting bc the holes cause the ball to slow down in the air slightly
I think the ball itself is nice but its a waste of money until it becomes more affordable. There's much better things you can do with that money than buy a basketball.
It's a cool tecnology, when (and if) comes down to the same price of a regular ball, It's going to be a cool option for poor people who can't afford buying balls every time they pop or who play in rough terrains.
Maybe if I had like a mini hoop in my backyard and didn't want to make sounds for the neighborhoods, otherwise what's the point. Also that price tag needs two 0s removed
It weights the same?? That ball will get disgusting really quickly with sweat and dust stuck in between all those holes. And that airless ball will not be easy to clean.
It's not mean for mass production. For rich kids and influencers that can buy it, plus it's a collectable not so you can actually play it even though it works
Does it have the same feel? Can you Palm it? It has holes, playing outside with even a tiny bit of wind is going to turn into a giant wiffle ball... Wait that might be fun! Weird trick shots baby
🤔 I would think that this airless basketball would be better as a regulation basketball for NBA games, as the weight and dimensions can be far more uniform and accurate. Just a thought.
Destroys the entire basketball aesthetic, laughably overpriced, wind, no one asked for it, looks dumb. $20 for a basketball and a $5 pump or $2500 for this? Yea, no. #Next?
Maybe because it’s made my 3D printing… it’s called « Selective Laser Sintering » and I think they are working on elastomers like polyurethane thermoplastics in order to build these rubber balls. That’s why I’m really surprised about that price of 2,500$ cause I think I can print it whenever I want 😂
The squeak of sneakers and the bounce of the ball is the music of basketball.
tell that to my complaining neighbor.
@@lordkaiser1404if your neighbor is complaining about that you need to move away
I feel like a match with this ball would be awkwardly quiet, only thing you'd hear are the players breathing and the squeaking of their shoes
?????? Is everybody just going to magically forget how to speak? Is the crowd going to be quiet? Announcers? Buzzers? Bro forgot about his brain.
Car chases with all electric cars are pretty quiet compared to normal engines lol
@@Chronoanime666Blud thinks basketball is only played in the nba💀💀
@@Chronoanime666wait til u find out the nba and places with big crowds rnt the only places basketball is played😱

Ball would be stolen in 2 seconds if you ever brought it to an outdoor court
I mean, being able to hear the ball bounce is pretty important for things like court awareness.
Even if it bounces perfectly, the bigger issue would likely be shooting (and to a lesser extent: passing). The aerodynamics of the ball will presumably be totally different than a regular ball.
I concur, my thoughts exactly.
2.5k tht cost them probably 30$ max
Who’s grabbing it at $2.5 k? Lol like is the ball going flat a real issue that a $2 pump can’t fix in 30 seconds? Lol
Right. I don't think you can find ten people combined that spend more than 2.5k on basketballs in a lifetime.
Resells for 10k too😭

$50-$60 for a basketball is already a lot,I ain't gatdamn paying $2500 for one🤷🏽♂️🍻🍺
If this balls fall in the river it's over
not for outdoor playing. tiny holes can collect dirt and alter a shot.
also the wind through the holes
Apparently they tested it on dirt and outside and it doesn't collect little rocks or dirt in it & air doesn't affect it more then a real ball, but that is the company talking
@@Ghostvertigoyeah I’m in marketing and that’s their marketing team just saying whatever they want.
@@Bruhmoment-os8ne they tested the aerodynamic, the holes and the air don’t affect the flight of the ball.
@@Bruhmoment-os8ne wind affevts way more a ball without holes
With that grip, everyones gonna turn into Kyrie with these balls
Kyrie is gonna go crazy with these balls.
Problem is air goes through the holes when you shoot it and it will never go through the holes the same so it will always shoot different.
It flies through the air differently
Imagine paying 2500 dollars to mess up your shot with a ball that doesn’t travel the same in air as a regular ball.
I saw videos of people shooting it and goes airball. The air resistance to a regular ball is also a factor for a shooter.
One bad jump crash 2,500$gone crushed
2 500 GFOR ONE BALL?! FUCK THAT LOL
Shit resells for 10k😭
I think it is worth in long term as people can be fully accustomed to a highly calibrated ball and fine tune their accuracy of ball handling and shooting only based on internal factors!
That's limited edition, there's only 75 of em out there, that's why it cost so much. It hasn't began to masspruduce yet!
It’s useful for dribbling if you were to practice inside and live in like an apartment or something. Not useful for shooting bc the holes cause the ball to slow down in the air slightly
Reminds me of ANT’s shoe 😂
its good, once the price gets cheaper. It is standardisation of basketball and also allows for in house use
I’ll wait a few years when it’s affordable
wonder if its less predictable how it bounces of the rim
This is the only revolution we dont really need,
It cost that much because it’s a Prototype when they release they wouldn’t be that much
Its supposed to do the exact same thing as a normal ball but cost 2500? This is likely the stupidest product ive ever seen
...but it looks cool! 😂
I think the ball itself is nice but its a waste of money until it becomes more affordable. There's much better things you can do with that money than buy a basketball.
Bro, they'll be 3D printing this for 12$ in a year
It weighs the same, it bounces the same, but when you throw it..... it definitely does not move through the air the same as a normal basketball.
If I was bill gates I’d consider it
It's useful and a great ball but it costs way too much for it to be worth
only because it's still a prototype. in a few years it will be so cheap.
useful for what?
@@truthdetector4036 useful for playing quietly. a lot of neighbors hate the sound of bouncing balls.

I have never had a flat basketball on my life
I mean… are flat balls really plaguing basketball to the point of needing to create an airless counterpart? Lol
Did the price of pumps sky rocket or something? Cuz if not how is a $2500 ball helping anyone financially or practically.
I like the concept but who spending that much money on a ball besides rich folks?
it's only expensive because it's still on prototype stage. once it's mass produced, it will be cheaper than the leather ones.
If it has a helpful technology built in to help track and improve shots/dribbling etc, maybe it's worth $2500.
How well does it do outside?
Hole edges will hurt fingers when you play long enough i think
It weights the same?? That ball will get disgusting really quickly with sweat and dust stuck in between all those holes. And that airless ball will not be easy to clean.
I know we all heard the ai voice say “flat balls 😏”
It would be good if you live in a apartment and want to work on your handles.
I mean air is free so 2.5k is crazy
I do need a solution for my flat BALLS
I'll print my own lol
Like... how hard is it to inflate a $20 basketball if it gets flat that you need a $2,500 one?
$2500 or get one for free by poking a hole into a real basketball
It's not mean for mass production. For rich kids and influencers that can buy it, plus it's a collectable not so you can actually play it even though it works
if the nba decides to use it, it will be mass produced and will probably even cheaper than those leather ones.
Does it have the same feel? Can you Palm it?

Doesnt seem like it bounces very good so not sure why they said it bounces the same...
Would air resistance not be way off with the holes?
Apparently not they claim

It’s cool but hell no it’s not worth it
But it doesn’t Shoot the same
Literally every video I’ve seen of these, they bounce horribly .

And the weight?
It's a basic design I feel like I can make that with a 3d printer to be honest
