The 'deer woman' story is based on native american spirit entity said to kill humans by luring them to play 'hormone games', but her target are those who have abused women and children in past.
So it is implied that officer Jacob was not a good man whereas officee Faraday despite having close encounter with her, was spared by 'deer woman'.
I did wonder if there was a specific reason for the targets being chosen, or if they were simply men who were alone who could be taken somewhere private without notice
Yes, I liked that she initially just wanted to escape Faraday. Sent a very clear message that he was not a bad person she wanted to hurt. But he just would not give up.
other storys have the deer woman as a godess that only kills rapest and people that sexual disrespect them. so this story is like make a movie were the varjian marry in to a slasher.

I missed Masters of Horror. All the GOAT horror directors have each of their masterpieces set in this anthology. Imprint is still one of the brutal episodes aside from Pelts, I even have to close my eyes on that torture scene.
Was there a master of horrors episode where small prebubescent children had holes drilled into their heads, & then old men raped them while they died? Pretty certain it was but not 100% sure. A lot of violent fetish porn, & some actualy sexual fetish murders were inspired from that show too.

I remember that first one. I believe it’s a comic. I can’t remember who the author was, but I know it’s a comic! It’s nice to know it got a movie.
I wasn’t really impressed with the first story until I realized the first one is deep if you think of it as predatory women that get left off the hook like Brittney Renner or the evil teachers who SA their students. As Jennifer kept hurting people, I kept thinking “she’s not an innocent puppy. She’s monstrous in actions and appearance, why can’t any of these dudes look past their hard ons and see that until they get rekt” and I realized that pov is exactly what it feels like being able to clearly see these irl monsters for what they are and yet watching countless other dudes line up for Renners to bleed them dry or dudes and the courts (judges, prosecutors and lawyers) make excuses for and let the evil chomo teachers/other female chomos off the hook because of their own hard ons lol. They probably aren’t pulling a black mirror by shedding a light on modern issues, but it’s way more thought provoking that way instead of guys just somehow falling in love with sloth from the goonies lol.

I don’t disagree with that you said but I should point out that SA is SEVERLY UNDERPUNISHED even when the suspect is male. Women may have it easier getting off the hook for SA but if you see the extremely low conviction rate, even for rape, it’s pitiful. Not to mention the rapists and other SA creeps who get probation for what they’re done, not even jail time. That sh*t is sickening regardless of gender
I always wished Jennifer and Deer Woman had been put back to back because they compliment each other so well. One is a woman who lures innocent men to their doom while the other is punishing guilty men.

The angel was one of the _stars_ in that movie, "The Absolute End of the World." Somehow, the director had managed to capture an angel, cut the angel's wings off on film, torture a bunch of actors and make a movie out of it.
And for an actual angel to be in the movie, along with all the people who had anything to do with the movie going insane or dying horribly, makes the movie supernatural as hell.

this film was based off a rumor over a short film made in the end of the 1800's by french film maker Georges Méliès that was said that the film made everyone mad and a fought broke out. This rumor sort of played the telephone game and went from fight to everyone went mad and killed everyone in the theater.

Am I going nuts? I swear there's a short horror story with a similar plot to Cigarette burns, about the exact same movie, only I remember it ending with demons emerging from the screen rather than an angel being freed.
You're not nuts! I saw the same story as an episode on HULU recently. Actually, 2 similar stories. One about a film shown in a drive+in that caused the viewers to kill each other. This was from American Horror Story.
The other show was about a 3D movie that had an alien creature emerge from the screen but no one could see it as it took over their minds.
I saw a horror short, where a grandpa who went with his grandchild to the cinema, succumbing to the very same alien that @vachelmcfarland4886 is describing
