Everybody hating on their new albums but honestly everything is good for what it is. Sure atlas/ire/reverence aren't the 'classic' PWD sound but fuck it some of their songs slap. The solo in Blue and the Grey is amazing, and Bottom Feeder is pretty heavy. I don't have much to say about reverence but I'm glad that they are still active.

EggCore same thing happened with whitechapel too, they went from deathcore to like a chuggy djent style deathcore band but without the progressive metal influence making a lot of the songs pretty boring mid tempo chugfests

I think it's to help with the quality of the notes played.
It eliminates sympathetic ringing behind the nut while playing for guitars that have the tendency to have that problem. A lot of guitars don't have this problem. Can really clear up your playing just cutting out some of that natural noise strings can make. I mostly see them used (and use them myself) with high gain types of tone where that sympathetic ringing can really make stuff sound sloppily played. There are a lot of people who think they're useless though.

My favorite band! Horizons and Deep blue are masterpieces. KWAS is awesome, but not as polished as Horizons. Atlas is really good, but definitely different than anything before it. I don't like how their last 2 albums are full of "Power ballad" like riffs. I wish they would go back to their hardcore and metalcore style.
